Great Purchase Decision!
Very pleased with my purchase, 2024 edition, 64GB with premium pen. I also purchased a cover to protect it; the cover is slim and just large enough for the Scribe with the pen beside it, save it its carrying slot.Writing is a joy! The screen has just enough drag so that it doesn’t feel like glass; very close to a paper feel. Very little pressure is required, and there are a variety of writing tips and widths. Reading Kindle books is easy on the eyes, and the size of the scribe is an easy to hang on to, middle size between a phone and full-size tablet or laptop screen. There is a touch of lag, especially when erasing or “undo”ing things. I have some Kindle titles with color panels that can’t display in color, of course, but they are still clear. Page transitions are quick and smooth, both with the notebooks and Kindle titles. Adding notebook pages take a couple taps. The more I learn about it, the better I like it!Chose the Scribe because it combined my desire for paperless notes and journaling with a LOT of Kindle-format reference material and leisure reading. Great price point and does things the competition can’t do natively.

Excellent Integration of Reading & Writing!
I was hesitant to get the Scribe when it was first released, but took the plunge on this recent update and am glad I did. Of course the large screen is wonderful, especially for us older readers. What has really happily surprised me is the notes features. Writing on this is effortless and the responsiveness is smooth as butter. I also own the latest generation iPad with the new pencil pro, but much prefer the writing experience on the Scribe. To me this is much closer to writing on paper, and I love the included variety of layouts for notes, from wide and narrow ruled pages, to dotted and bulleted and more. The AI features do require WiFi connection, but that’s par for the course and not a limitation in my opinion, maybe some folks aren’t fully knowledgeable about how AI works. As for the AI performance, so far it’s done a prefect job of translating my poor handwriting into neatly typed text. When reading I find it much easier to use the pen to look up words and highlight text. The accuracy is much better than using my finger. The pen will attach to the Scribe magnetically, but I purchased a case with an elastic pen holder. From past experience the magnetic attachment is a good way to lose your pen. There are plenty of choices for cases and covers and the nice thing is this new Scribe still has the same dimensions, so the original cases will fit it perfectly.

I use it everyday!
I really like this product. I use it every single day at work and I use it frequently at home too. It replaced a physical planner for me which is great because you have to buy a new one every year. I use the notebooks heavily and found routines that work for me. Creating custom templates using the AI refine writing feature has been great. I do wish it had different notebook templates or a way to add your own custom ones. I also wish you could copy your notebooks easier (you can use the lasso tool, which I do, but sometimes itâs time consuming)Being able to send and share annotated PDFs has been great, the process is smooth and easy. Something about writing on a text PDF is so cool. My one complaint is that I wish PDFs werenât relegated solely to the library section and could be moved to the notebook section if desired.I ended up being a touch disappointed with the special button on the pen, you can only choose between a couple of functions to assign to it and you must hold the button down to use the feature. I end up always clicking the button because of the way I hold a pen so thatâs kind of annoying. The eraser is nice though.I like the library portion and reading on it is great. There is a back lit screen that can be adjusted and the page size is good. I do find that I accidentally swipe backwards in my books a lot so thatâs mildly annoying too. I also wish you could customize the âcollectionsâ the books are in, just something about it is not great. Other than that reading from it is very nice. I would highly recommend a case that can fold into a stand though, it makes draping it over your knee or propping up much more pleasant. Finally Iâve had a blast drawing with it. The pencil function is pretty good and you can come up with some cool stuff!Over all Iâve been using my scribe daily for the past three months. I really like it.
