When Nothing Else Seems to Work, This Will
Connected instantly to my Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro Wifi 7 router via the SmartLife app where other hubs refuse. Adding devices were a breeze as well. I had to get this and move from Amazon plugs to cheaper Zigbee or Tuya compatible plugs since the Amazon plugs refuse to connect to my new router even when a dedicated 2.4ghz smart home wifi connection was utilized. I connected about 20 devices, including Novastella Bluetooth lights, 2.4ghz and 5ghz WifI smart plugs, to this little hub and it works flawlessly. It returned the smart controls I was using with Alexa prior to I upgrading my router. Nothing Amazon makes will connect to the new router but knockoff and no name brand smart devices have no issues. Roku works, Firestick doesn’t. So if you are having connection issues with smart home devices and new routers, this will help you bridge the gap. Amazon plugs are proprietary so they won’t work with the hub. At Home and Govee work just fine.

Exactly what you need for your tuya home
As much as I hate to admit it, the Moes gateway hub just works. It helps that you buy tuya branded items and even better if it’s from the same manufacturer Moes. I’m using mine with Home Assistant. Everything that I had, every motion sensor, door sensor that would not work with other hub or smart things products worked out of the box with this. Of course this means I have to remain in the tuya universe of home automation products. Not the ideal situation, but these chinese-made products are inexpensive compared to their competitors and they work with home assistant. On the negative side, I’m not too sure about the zigbee integration and I just think this thing is pretty darn expensive. Why does it have to cost almost 60 bucks?

Doesn’t work
Only worked once. Everything is connected as it shows but it doesn’t work. It doesn’t connect to the internet and isn’t able to manage the devices. It’s a waste of time and money. Please don’t buy it. Do not waste money.

Only speaks Chinese
I purchased this ZigBee hub to replace one that was failing. I tried to migrate the 10 devices that were in the original hub, but it did not work, I had to factory reset every device and add them to this new hub.In the week I have been using it, one bulb disconnected for a while but eventually it connect itself to the hub. When adding a device the hub will speak Chinese and I have not found the way to make it speak English. I will update as time goes by.

Useless for me!
I ordered this to work with three smart locks I installed within the last few months. I wanted to be able to control these locks remotely. This item works with Tuya enabled BT locks; however, the range makes this product unusable for me.To be clear, I have another smart lock that uses a different app (not my intention!). So I ordered a WIFI gateway for it and set it up a few minutes before installing this one. It was a breeze and works exactly as expected. So I anticipated things to go well for this unit since it is wired. I thought it would have better range. It does not connect to any of my locks from its location next to the router!Basically, I followed the directions step-by-step. The app was already downloaded on my phone, so I simply had to add the gateway. That part was simple and worked as the manual detailed. I was even able to add all my locks to the gateway. The problem began when I tried to control any of the locks. If I was not in BT range, they would not work! I had to install the gateway in the same room as the router/modem. This distance from router/gateway to the locks is too great to work! I thought the point was that this device connected to the BT devices and provided a bridge/gateway over WiFi for remote control. It doesn’t work as expected, so this is useless for me!

Hub for all Tuya devices
Not all ZigBee devices like to be paired with SmartThings or other smart hub, but this one will pair with just about anything so far. It’s a very simple setup and it just works. Once you have your app paired up with this hub, and you start to add devices it a very quick process and simple. Once that is done, the Alexa integration is also very simple as you just need to add the skill to your Alexa device and it is now able to turn on or off devices with ease. Setting up routines or schedule or even a geofence works like it should and so far I have not encountered any issues.

I bought this gateway as part of a concerted push to switch away from using wifi and to use Zigbee devices where possible in my Home-Assistant setup. The gateway worked perfectly, it was recognised by HA and it was easy to further add devices from within the Smartlife app.Unless you have infinite financial resources, you will have spotted that whether you use Zigbee, Bluetooth or WiFi, Tuya is the most prolific, most inexpensive, and option only player in town making everything from waterleak sensors through smoke detectors to on/off sockets and light buls. The platform which is fronted by the ‘Smartlife’ app is incredibly easy to useBeware, however, you should appreciate before making a decision as the ‘how to do things’ front that the Zigbee2MQTT approach is not as scary as it first seems. After buying into, and appreciating, the Gateway box, I’ve now started to migrate to the Zigbee2MQTT route. Even with the Smartlife app, the benefits are outweighed by the simplicity delivered with the mqtt solution.
