Lifesaver for the First Month!

Did not use the 20mm, but have a smaller size
I was so swollen after birth that I needed to upsize as the originals I have were too small. I bought a bigger size but never got to use them cause my swelling went down. My other pair fit fine and protected me like it should, but my baby was not a fan of them. The stickiness of them I’d give an 8/10. The flat part wouldn’t 100% stay down and would roll up (especially since my baby was moving all over the place and struggling to nurse to first). They were also pretty easy to clean too.

I needed something to give me a little relief from cracked nipples and these were amazing! Love the case to keep them on the nightstand at night, they clean nicely and are good quality. Definitely worth the price!

Know your size before you buy
These are a bit problematic in the BF world – however, I think having everything you can on hand to help you/your body adjust to BF the first weeks is essential. I bought these not really knowing what they were but seeing a recommendation for them. I bought them without knowing my nipple size and had to size down once I understood flange/nipple sizing. They are used to help women with inverted nipples and babies that won’t latch- but I used them when my nipoles were sore and cracked and they made a huge difference. You just aren’t supposed to rely on them.

Life saver!
I successfully nursed my first baby until he was a year old and after having my second baby itâs been nothing but a nightmare. She stopped latching and I had to exclusively pump which has been so hard. Iâve gone to chiropractors, lactation specialists, tried different positions, fixed her tongue tie and she would not nurse. I got these and the very first time I tried it she latched RIGHT away and nursed so well she fell asleep. I am so happy!

Does not stick to me. Messes with baby’s latch.
Do yourself a favor and skip these nipple shields. The flared out part is not long enough to get a good grip on the breast skin (past the areola). It created more problems than it fixed for me.
