    These Keep Me SANE!!
I’ve been using the Litterworks system with the wooden raised box and a Littermaid’s Litter Box for about 3 years now. It keeps me SANE! Using this system: I don’t have to smell many used litter smells at all because it’s contained/enclosed — and I have a really sensitive nose! I don’t have to touch all the litter or scoop it out using this. I don’t have to worry about those crazy white plastic Littermaid rectangular containers spitting the litter back at me when I try to lift it up. I may still use gloves when I go thru the cleaning process, but I don’t get a bunch of stuff all over my hands trying to use this. It’s SOOOO much better than a lot of others out there!!!We presently have 2 cats, but I’ve used it with as many as 3 cats. Our heaviest cat was about 35 pounds and this all worked for him. I also purchased and use the rectangular plastic system/item that covers up the holes in the lift-up lid as well as the black insert for the litter to go down into the Blue Bag Liner Refills.I keep a small pair of scissors as well as the twist ties that come with the refills in the compartment under the litter box. I pull out a bit extra from the refill system, tie off the used litter, then cut the bag. Before I tie a knot in the bottom of the new bag, I DO twist the plastic 3-5 times and then tie the knot with the twist in the knotted portion. I leave a tail of approximately 1-2″ after the knot. I’ve NEVER had a blow out in 3 plus years using this method. As I’m setting up the new, clean portion of the next bag, and frankly I added this next step based on some suggestions I found here in the reviews, I put the knotted end of the Blue Bag Liner Refills into a the middle of a spread out flex force kitchen sized garbage bag. Sometimes, if I don’t go in and check on the litter box OFTEN enough during a week, it can get over-full of litter. I find the extra security of the second garbage bag is super helpful in making sure I don’t poke a hole in the Blue Liner Refill bag as I’m wrestling it out and into the trash. That used litter shifts around a lot and doesn’t make for easy transport at ANY time, but this is the best option I’ve found, and I thank the person in the reviews that suggested a second bag! Great idea! And, because it’s pretty “shifty” and heavy you have to be REALLY careful not to poke a hole in the bag, but I’ve had that same issue with trash bags and litter too. So, I don’t see that as an issue with the thickness of the Litterworks Liner Refill Bag — more an issue with how long I waited to change the bag!I have also found over the years, that using clay litters is not a good choice — for several reasons. First, the clay litters seem to give off little flying bugs if the used litter sits around for a week or so — which it can when you are using this system. Probably even two weeks between trash take out if you only have 1 cat. We take ours out once a week with 2 cats. They are inside only and this is their only box. Second reason for not using clay based litter: the litter gets really soaked and the Littermaid cat box sifting motor does not seem to like the weight of it. Since we stopped using clay based litter, we have stopped needing to replace our Littermaid (due to burned out motors) every year, and have had our present one for nearly 3 years. I attribute that PRIMARILY to stopping our use of clay based litter. We now ONLY use the corn-based “World’s Greatest Cat Litter for Multiple Cats” in the Littermaid. It’s MUCH lighter, doesn’t foster bugs, and lasts a lot longer than than the clay based litter. It’s a lot more expensive, but we get a longer use from the same weight — meaning 28 lbs of this litter lasts longer than a 40 lb container of the clay based litters. So, even though it is more expensive per pound that the clay based stuff, I don’t use as much for the same use, so a one for one price comparison isn’t really fair. It IS more expensive, but all in all, even when my husband was laid off for a while, I didn’t economize by changing our litter. That’s how worth it I think it is! Third: It clumps well and the Littermaid scooper likes it. It doesn’t get like concrete like the clay based litter, but it still clumps up. We have one cat that is a really big litter scratcher, so he’ll often turn the litter into dust rather than the pellet chunks it starts in, but the litter still works well even like that. I also like that it doesn’t get glued to my cat’s paws after they’ve used the box and there’s been some dampness. I feel like it’s better for them to clean this off their paws than that clay based stuff. Fourth: it doesn’t shoot up that fine dust that clay based litter shoots up when you pour it in or scoop it in to replace it. I hate that dust! For me and I hate smelling it or feeling it on my cats after they’ve used the box. Again, sensitive nose, so I prefer this corn-based litter. Fifth: I really feel like it controls the smells and odors better than the clay based stuff. The reason I’ve spent some time talking about the litter we use, is I think it affects my view of the Litterworks refill bags. Since the World’s Best Cat Litter is lighter in weight even when it’s “used”, it makes managing the full litter easier, and ultimately makes this refill system work better. Just my two cents, but I’ve even tried those flushable Cat Genie systems and this process is best for us from ease of use, overall expense, odor control and not having to mess with it much lifestyle issues!Good Luck!

    Great for automatic litter box
This is basically the only place that I can find these now, so I try to stockpile them. They work well with my litterbox so I only have to change out the litter every couple of weeks. Definitely recommend.

    Easy to use. No waste.
I have been using Litterworks liner refills for quite sometime now. We have 3 cats and 2 automatic cat boxes. These liners have saved me a lot of time and effort! Easy to set up and use. I like that no matter how full the bags are, there is no waste. I only use as much as I need. The only thing that I would change…. when the bag system is about to run out, have the color change. That way I know to get more.

    Works perfectly!
I have been using this product for years and I have never had any problems with it. Not a rip or tear. I have 3 cats, so it gets filled up quickly, and even with it loaded up and heavy I have never had a rip or a tear I. The bag, it has held up to the weight and held in the stench. I follow the instructions and tie a tight knot in the bottom of the bag, which secures all the litter box “droppings” inside the bag. I use the provided ties to secure the bag closed just above the contents of the bag. I then place it into a garbage bag before throwing into my garbage cart, for added odor control and containment. This has worked perfectly for me for many years.Though the price point is high, the sellers are fantastic! I recently replaced the plastic tray through their website (and found I like their bulk prices for this product better directly from their website). I had lost the original litter box scraper, and couldn’t remember how I came to own it, but missed it very much. So after placing my order for a replacement tray through their website, I called and left a message asking about this scraper. I was pleasantly pleased when the replacement tray arrived with 2 scrapers! Great customer service! Great product! I enjoy purchasing from what seems to be an independent business. So even with a higher price point, I believe in supporting small business with great quality products and great customer service.

    Excellent
These sure make cleaning the litter box easy as pie. We have only one cat but he does the “business” of two cats. Rather than emptying the litter every other day, we now only have to do it once a week. No mess, no fuss, no odor. Just use the supplied twist ties to close the dirty end, cut with scissors, tie the bottom of the soon to be dirty end in a knot and you’re done. Takes less than two minutes to change.

    Works great!
They work as described. I couldn’t be happier with the results. We have three cats, and generally are able to take out the litter that goes into these liners once per week, while keeping our laundry room odor to a minimum. Each box gives us several changeouts. We have been using this system for about a year, and have used a total of four boxes. Well worth the investment!

This works great, but liners do not last as long as some reviewers indicate
For one cat, one box of the litter liners lasted from October 23rd to January 6th or 76 days. That is about 2 1/2 months for one box. I usually do not change it for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. I am not sure how other people make theirs last so long. It works really well with the electric cat box. I had a petsitter watch my cat and dog for 10 days, and it was great to not have to worry about the electric box. I have a back-up old fashioned cat box in case the electric one stalls. As of late, I have been buying the new lightweight litter; since I started doing that, the electric litter box rake never gets stuck anymore. Phew!
