The small flat-topped brush is great for my cats’ teeth!
Each of the three toothbrushes I received was in a plastic package that was labeled “orthodontic toothbrush,” with an illustration on the back that depicted human teeth with braces. I’ve never had braces, but apparently this style of toothbrush is for keeping your braces clean. But is this kind of brush effective for . . . cats? Well, the pointed end seems too stiff to me—you should be using soft bristles on their teeth—but I really like the long, round, flat-topped brush! I typically use a baby toothbrush for my cats’ teeth, but the brush head often is too big for their tiny teeth. It can be a struggle to fit the toothbrush into their mouths while trying to lift their lips with my finger. There just isn’t much room to work with. The flat head on this brush is smaller than that of any baby brush I’ve used, and the bristles are much longer. The long bristles and narrow, more-focused brush head has made it easier for me to get into their tiny little mouths to brush their itty bitty teeth. The handle also is comfortable to hold.I had to wonder, though. Were these being sold by mistake as pet toothbrushes? I searched online to see if there was some trend in using this type of orthodontic toothbrush on pets. I honestly don’t know how well these brushes would work on a larger dog’s teeth, but I found a brush really similar to these being marketed as a cat toothbrush by a major retailer at a much higher price. So, I’m really happy with the value of these at about a dollar a piece!

Decent toothbrushes but maybe not for pets
These toothbrushes are very small and cover one tooth at a time of my dog’s teeth – the larger brush head is iterally the width of one canine (tooth). They are good for detailed work though. However, it would take quite a while to get through all of my dog’s teeth using this toothbrush.

    Bristles are fairly long
I have two cats who, for whatever blessed reason, are obsessed with toothbrush time. So I thought I’d give these brushes a try. Sadly, they won’t work for me–but they may work for you, depending on your pet.I received three individually wrapped toothbrushes, which was quite nice. They are double-sided, much like far more expensive ones, with an end for brushing and one for getting between teeth. At first glance, they look lovely. However, the bristles are quite long, which presents a problem for me. While brushing my cats’ teeth, they both enjoy taking a moment to lick or chew on the brush; as we use an enzyme-based toothpaste, I figure this is totally fine. Normal cat toothbrushes have shorter bristles that are harder for a cat to tug out. These, however, seemed to come out quite easily, and I felt too nervous to do anything beyond a gentle brush with them. After getting one good chomp by my ravenous female cat, one of the brushes had already lost one bristle. This may not seem like much, and it may not be an issue for you, but with my cats’ love for eating things they shouldn’t, I didn’t want to risk it.If you are looking for simple, affordable toothbrushes for your mild, well-trained pet, these may work well for you! If, however, you have tiny raptors in cat suits living with you, I’d suggest finding something more durable.

cats in fact can be susceptible to dental issues..
These are awesome hands down. Since we learned our cat was showing early signs of potentially gingivitis we brush his teeth on a regular basis. But brushing alone regardless of the brush I just didn’t feel would hit all the spots similar to humans when we brush our teeth. So we sometimes use additional tools to help ensure we remove anything built up in those hard to reach spots which eventually can become cavities or plague. So these are great for using with your pets to get into those super hard to reach spots. They are very similar to what we would use as human with the exception of the size slightly bigger on the brush head and longer in length which makes sense. So if you are already brushing your animals teeth but notice things are still stuck – these are game changer and believe it or not our pets are more alike us than we think. Our cat had a treat I suspected residue in between his teeth and he normally is a huge fan of tooth brushing but he was oddly happy to allow me to get it out and I honestly couldn’t when I brushed them prior with the regular brush but when I used these it came right now and I could immediately tell that it was bothering him and since he cant speak human – he made sure to let me know how thankful he was. It was s surreal feeling since as humans we don’t know similar to babies if you think about it what’s wrong with them until we try to help figure it out. So if you are like us or have a fur baby that you are either suddenly needing to or haver already been doing oral care with get these they will completely help you out and your animal out! The vet will probably be very pleased as well at their next check up!

Are these for humans with braces or pets???
Looks like they just took orthodontic toothbrushes and tried to turn it around for pets to use….Could they not have even tried repackaging the product? This was not easy to use on a cat. I tried this on my cat and even though the wider side has softer bristles, it is too large for her small sesame sized teeth. I tried using the smaller pointed side but it didn’t even look like it did anything. The bristles on the sharper side also feel too rough to be using on a cat. I’ll be going back to her regular miniature sized toothbrush.

    Good for dogs
I ordered these to use when cleaning my medium sized dog’s teeth. I already have a couple of different brushes but wanted something for those hard to reach areas. There were three brushes in the package and each was individually wrapped. The quality appears to be good. One end of the brush has a pointy tip and the other is more rounded. The nylon bristles are medium soft and sturdy enough for a descent clean.Given the three pack, the quality and the price point, I think these are an ok value. I think they make a nice addition to the other teeth cleaning brushes I already have for my dog.

Technically, these are “orthodontic” toothbrushes. We try to brush out cats’ teeth every couple of days so we got these to replace the ones we were currently using. They are not terrible, but not as great as our current ones; the bristles on these are not only a bit on the long side, but they are also fairly soft – both of which make the job a little harder. The pointed end is great though, especially if you want to try and brush a bit between the teeth or the outside crevices of the teeth, and the heads are small enough for our adult cats.

They are too small and narrow to be able to clean properly, it’s a nightmare to get the brush lined up with the cat’s tiny teeth. Just invest in a bigger toothbrush that can be used more easily.

So far I’ve been using finger toothbrushes to try and brush my kitty’s teeth, which has been okay-ish, but she doesn’t like it for sure; so I wanted to try a toothbrush for a change, see how it fares. For now I’m on the fence. The brushes’ shape look like it could work, with one side being a small round brush and the other a narrow one, to get between the teeth; but it may work better for dogs/pets with larger mouths than my tiny mite with her tiny little teeth (albeit very pointy for my poor fingers). The whole brush is thin and easy to take in hand, but at the same time it does feel sturdy enough, so I think it will last a while. That said, it doesn’t look like my cat’s taking to this, and the finger brush may still be the best option with her. I’m having a hard time to rate them, to be fair–I also don’t have enough experience with other brands to be able to really compare. Let’s say 3.5?

I absolutely love these and feel the price is a bargain for three brushes. My cat has been diagnosed with Hyperplastic Juvenile Gingivitis and as such his gums are very inflamed and sore. Well, they were.In order to prevent possibly all his teeth being removed in the next year or so, ive had to embark on a rigorous dental hygiene routine. These brushes, along with special toothpaste and oral gels, have drastically reduced the redness of my boys gums, and my vet is extremely pleased with his progress over the last 3/4 weeks. So much so that its now at a stage where we feel that he stands a good of making a full recovery. The bristles are soft and compact, and the heads nice and small – a feature often lacking in toothbrushes designed for cats. The small size of these enable me to get right to the back molars where the most significant issues usually arise. The softer texture means its a much more pleasant experience, whilst still giving an effective clean. They also do not cause bleeding of the gums.
