I don’t have access to methods that could test and verify some of the claims on this filter straw, but I haven’t gotten sick yet so it must work! I hike and camp a LOT, and my favorite spot is along a decently clear stream. To save on weight and space, I’ve been utilizing the stream for water with a bigger gravity filter, but when I don’t want to wait an hour for it, I just use this straw. It has been so handy!

Worth the price to protect your health during travel
The Waterdrop Water Filter Straw Water Filtration System got high ratings from 2 adventurous friends who love to camp and hike long distances and know how to prepare for visits to remote areas. The best feature is the light weight that subtracts pounds from your backpack by reducing the number of water bottles you carry. After testing the straws out in the US, they would trust these for backup during international travel. Well worth the price because the alternative is possible dehydration when youâre far from a clean water source.

You never know
I got these because, well you never know! I thought it would be super handy to have something to keep in the truck in case of an emergency and while I haven’t actually gone to a stream to drink out of it and test it, I have no doubt that it’ll work. It’s a little bit bigger than I thought but I don’t mind that because in my mind that means that it would work a little better when you really need it to. Not that I would anticipate ever needing to use it, but if I’m ever in a situation where I need to use it, I’m going to be very glad that I have these.
