solid, does what it needs to with no problems
I use this product with HomeKit on iOS. I wanted a nightlight that could be triggered by motion and only come on when the area was dim enough, and that’s exactly what this does.Pros:* Modular. The power brick plugs into the back of the light, sitting in a recess that lets the whole thing be mostly flush when connected to power. In theory, if the brick dies, I suppose you could find a similar one and swap it out.* Motion and light detection work as they should. I have yet to notice this not responding to these triggers.* The pairing code is on the unit itself, letting one easily re-add it to a smart home, should that be necessary.Cons:* The light isn’t very bright.* The unit is kind of big. Put it in the bottom of a standard dual outlet box or it’ll block the other outlet. Even then, nothing even a little bulky will fit into the top outlet.Overall, this is a great product that does exactly what it says it’ll do, and does it reliably. It could be brighter, but that’s my only real complaint.

It DOES work! Here’s how to solve the setup hassle!
As a HomeKit user since pretty much the very beginning, I saw this neat accessory and I had to pick it up; 2 sensors and an RGB night light all in one for the price is a great deal. I did have some setup hassle, but I knew how to handle it. Please read carefully and I will tell you exactly how I got mine working!1. When I opened the box, my home was still using the old HomeKit architecture, as I have an intel iMac that I didn’t want to update (for performance reasons). As it turns out, YOU NEED to be running the new home architecture. If you don’t, the device will successfully add to your home, but it will immediately become unresponsive. I decided to upgrade my home, I will use my other devices to control my home now…2. The device ships with factory firmware. There is much better updated firmware. To install it, you need the 3R-Installer app by the manufacturer. You first need to add the device to that app BEFORE adding it to your Apple home. When you add it, you should see the firmware update. Say “Yes” to update the device. Once the firmware is updated, you need to remove it from the app, then reset the device by using a paperclip and inserting it into the hole on the side of the device while it is plugged in. THEN you can add it to your Apple Home with the new home architecture and it will work very smoothly. Here is the App Atore link to the correct app:https://apps.apple.com/us/app/3r-installer/id6464381752NOTE: If the device is power cycled, it will take a few minutes to come back online to your Apple Home. I found that this device took a little longer than my other ones to come back online, but it does eventually come back online. No need to reset the device with a paper clip for this.Overall, this IS in fact a good product, it does work. But it is a bit of a hassle setting it up. I hope this is helpful!

Absolutely worthless. 10-30 second delay on any actions
This is for the Matter WiFi version of the color night light. I tried using it with a google home network, and a hubitat C8 controlled network. In both cases the motion sensor does not detect motion for 10-30 seconds, and the color nightlight doesn’t change for a similar period (if it chooses to change at all). Completely worthless.

Works well, very sensitive motion sensor, compact size
Work as expected, and they work with Hubitat.Easy to set up, the bedroom unit activates the LED light set for 10% brightness for 15 seconds at night – very user controllable via Alexa app. Bought a 4-pack and will be deployed for using the motion sensors to activate external functions in Hubitat. The night light feature will be deactivated for these.Another plus, the are AC mains powered. No pesky battery replacement needed. Very satisfied with the product. Highly recommended.

Impossible to keep connected to network.
I originally ordered this to test out the concept with the intention of ordering a bunch to use as night lights, motion sensors to trigger various automations, and as notification indicator lamps that would trigger when something was happening in my Home Assistant instance, such as when the garage door is open, the alarm is arming/armed/disarmed, when the doorbell rings, etc.Unfortunately, I was unable to get these to stay online for more than a few hours without having to hard-reset and entirely set up factory fresh. I believe it’s due to an issue with our XFinity router and the requirement for the 2.4GHZ network, but it made the devices entirely unusable. Our internet and router are free through our condo, so there is no cost savings associated with upgrading the equipment, so there was no path forward with this unfortunately.THAT BEING SAID – I returned this and ordered the Zigbee version instead. They are SPECTACULAR for the use cases I mentioned before. I have customized the nightlights to have a smooth transitions, light heartbeat color pulsing for notifications, WITB-based room occupancy lighting automations, and a bunch more things that these made possible. SO. The verdict is that these are, in concept, fantastic, and what will make or break them for you is whether you are able to run a special separate 2.4Ghz network of wifi just for your smart home. If you can’t (e.g. you have Xfinity), then you’re better off with the Zigbee version.

So the story goes that I have a currently 14-year-old cat that while not entirely going blind or anything, likes having company when she eats, and light too. It was getting ridiculous to turn on the living room so she could eat and I desperately wanted a night light that would switch in when detecting motion, and could stay in while she was in the vicinity. I also wanted smart features and colours. This night light brought it all. I’m only a few weeks in so far, but I’ll let you guys know how it goes! For the time being, both kitty and I are happy! And yes her eating has improved too!

Easy setup via Matter to Homekit. The ThirdReality matter app was a bit troublesome to connect to the Smart Night Light, it worked the 7th time around. The device was updated via the ThirdReality matter app to the latest version. The Third Reality matter app doesn’t have many features to customize the use of the Smart Night Light. There is another Third Reality app, not the matter app, and that app does not work with this device without a Home Hub from Third Reality or other. My intent with this night light was something “smart” that I could use for my toddler to use the washroom at night, as I figure if he sits on the toilet for more than 5-minutes this could send my phone an alarm that he might need help (usually he waits for me to help clean up or get down after he kicks away the stool).Given that it has both an occupancy sensor and light (lux) sensor, I expected it to function similar to a wall sensor where if natural light or another light is present (stronger lux) than the night light turns off, or if there is no occupancy, the sensor shuts off the light. I tried programming some of these to the Smart Night Light via Apple Home, however, the application of the Apple Home automations resulted in this being odd in its functionality, to summarize:- No occupancy, turn off light after 3 minutes results in the light turning off after 42 seconds and then taking 37 seconds minutes to turn back on. Yes I measured the time, same amount of time each occurrence. Very odd.- The occupancy sensor is super sensitive, and works really well at detecting occupancy and turning on when you have no “auto-off” automations. It just doesn’t turn off on its own, and the Third Reality matter app has no ability to schedule an auto-off.- The lux sensor is great at telling you the brightness in the room, but doesn’t seem to work with any further functionality. I setup some automations so that if the washroom light is on, or the sun is up (via window) the Smart Night Light should not turn on. It turned on anyways and turned off based on the occupancy automation, or not at all once that automation was removed.- The colours of the light can vary vastly, which is very cool. I have it setup in red during the evening so it’s like a tactical night light.- The Smart Night Light can sync with HomePod to change colours when you play music, which is fun.The Smart Night Light has a lot of promise, but needs some more fine tuning from Third Reality. Some of the functionality could be overly improved (make this a 5/5 device) by simply giving tuning details for the user via either their Matter app or Apple Home – like if it detects occupancy, how long after should it turn off? How long after it turns off should it not turn on if it detects occupancy again (spoiler – it should turn on)?I’ll continue to use it but it’s a $70 night light that connects with HomeKit and tells me whether my kid is stuck on the toilet.

A nicely designed smart night light with motion sensor that works well when it works. Unfortunately, I ran into the following issues that forced me to return it:- At one point the device lost its Matter connection to my 4th gen Echo and I had to factory reset and re-register the device. Devices will occassionaly lose their network connection and removing and restoring power always resolves the issue for me. Having to factory reset and re-register a device is not viable as it de-registers the device from Alexa causing any Alexa routines that reference the device to have to be repaired or re-created.- Having the device turn on for motion and turn off after motion ended required a couple of Alexa routines, which was fine for me. In the ON routine I set the night light to white and in the OFF routine I set it to blue. This worked for a few days but then the behaviour changed and the night light would turn itself off completely instead of staying blue. In my mind this random behaviour change meant that the device was not stable and therefore not reliable.

I have had two of these for a couple of months and one of them is starting to not work correctly. I may have to replace it under warranty.
