I wrote this book to share with you how I discovered natural, herbal remedies for my depression and anxiety. Mainstream medications came with nasty side effects, but I found that herbalism offered the same relief with minimal side effects. My book, Natural Herbal Remedies from Medicinal Plants & Herbs, shows you the top 65 best herbs to have in your natural, herbal medicine cabinet. These plants and herbs can be used to treat most common maladies, including migraines, depression, insomnia, infertility, and so much more.

These are the best herbs you’ll learn to use in your personal healthcare routine.

I was clinically depressed. I was fighting with daily anxiety with episodes of panic attacks. The medicine that I was prescribed left me with a painful ulcer. I turned to herbalism to seek natural solutions. What I found opened the possibilities for clean, natural healing remedies. I no longer take an over the counter analgesic for a headache; instead, I scoop out some dried aniseed and make a nice, refreshing hot tea. My depression has subsided (although I still have my days), but I am confident that I can use herbal medicines when I see fit without the crazy side effects.

Learn safe and effective treatments you can apply at home.

In the past few years, I have become my family’s personal herbalist. While I don’t have a degree in herbal medicine, and I can’t exactly call myself a licensed herbalist, I have immersed myself in everything I can learn about herbal medicine and using plants and medications. This book is the first book I wrote, but I have already guest authored many blog and journal articles about alternative healing and using herbs as medicines.

Herbal medicines have fewer side effects than mainstream pharmaceuticals.

I want to share what I have learned about these 65 of my personal favorite plants, flowers, and herbs that I personally use as medications. You will learn what symptoms these herbs can help alleviate, what interactions they may have with prescription medications, where to find these herbs, how to grow them, and how to use them. Some herbs are topically applied, while others are ingested, while still others are best used as a tincture or tea. I will teach you the proper dosages and preparations to make your herbal medicine as effective as it can be.

No matter the illness or symptom you’re suffering from, there’s an herb for that!

You will learn all about how to find, prepare, and use herbal medications – most can be found in an ordinary kitchen garden or backyard! I will even include growing, foraging, and harvesting instructions for each herb. You need not grow all 65 herbs yourself, but you may find one that can be adapted to your needs.

I want to teach YOU how to be your family’s personal herbalism expert.

I will show you how to grow, find, prepare, and consume herbal medicines. I will teach you what each plant can treat, where to forage in the wild for that plant, or how to grow it yourself. I will also be candid and tell you if this plant has any interactions with prescription drugs and any possible side effects. I want you to be as informed as possible when using herbal medicines.

Natural medicinal concoctions for every occasion!
This modern herbal recipe guidebook offers readers an encyclopedia detailing 65 of the top medicinal herbs for empowering ones health in a natural way. Not only does Natural Herbal Remedies from Medicinal Plants & Herbs connect readers with the ancient traditions of natural medicines, author Kelly Lanier enriches readers with an abundance of practical information regarding herbalism. Lanier shares her personal story involving herbal medicine, as readers learn of her struggle with severe depression and anxiety. As she viewed her experience of trusting her healthcare provider to cure her symptoms via prescription medication continued to harm her health, Lanier decided a change was needed. With a twist of fate, her healthcare provider recommended her to visit a highly-respected herbalist and, after the initial onset of skepticism, One month was all it took to convince Lanier of alternative treatment methods. From that point on Lanier dedicated the following three years of her life towards the research and study of herbalism, spreading her new-found knowledge of natural remedy to friends, family, and now to all the readers of this book.Natural Herbal Remedies from Medicinal Plants & Herbs is a culmination of Lanier’s top findings, succinctly delivered to readers in the form of an alphabetically organized guidebook which details both the pros and cons of herbal medicine and it’s associated natural remedies. Lanier makes a point to clarify that although these remedies are natural, drawbacks to this form of treatment does exist and it is important that anyone embarking on a medicinal plant healing journey be made aware of the necessary balance that self-treatment with herbal medicine requires. She recommends that readers consult a trained professional to ensure proper preparation and appropriate dosing for the body’s needs. This guidebook offers readers a plethora of information regarding the healing power of each herb, where to locate such specimens, tips on preparing and applying these medicines, recipes for home remedy concoctions, as well as important side effects or medication interactions to consider with each. With these at time novel or rare looking plants to some less acquainted readers, it is a pleasure to see that the author has included photos for many of the herbs in its natural state for reader reference. She has also included references for more information to help locate the items required. Another point of interest is the information regarding plant growing conditions, which is certain to please homeowners and gardeners. This guidebook contains a plethora of ideas for growing healing home gardens close to home! I applaud Lanier’s journey and her efforts to spread her experience of medicinal plants in order to help others heal themselves in natural ways too. This is a must have reference and guidebook for reconnecting optimal holistic healthcare within our traditions and customs once more.

Good starting point for beginners but not that deep
In case the name of the book didn’t clue you in, it’s an encyclopedia of herbs. Each entry includes brief information about the uses for each herb, how to make remedies with the herb, and where to get the herb if needed. This isn’t some new age magic. The author warns you up front about the risks of herbal medicine and what it can be reasonably used for in place of modern counterparts. That being said, the herbs included in this book are some of the most basic ones you can find. It’s not the most comprehensive, but it’s a good starting point for beginners without overwhelming them with too much information. It’s easy to understand and reference whenever you need it. I’d recommend it to any beginner interested in incorporating common herbs into their medicinal routines.

Lots of Interesting and Helpful Facts!
Learning about herbs and their uses and benefits is not something new. However, it has been something new and eye-opening for me. These months of having to be cooped up at home gave me the time to delve into something new. And this little book did just that. Besides learning about all the benefits of herbs and other natural items, and the fact that their side effects are less serious than those of some drugs we use every day, I was able to disconnect from the daily routine and let myself explore nature and its bounty.Who would have thought, for example, that catnip is pretty helpful in treating the symptoms of a common cold? Or that chamomile can be used to treat both insect bites and insomnia? I loved learning that cardamom helps lower blood pressure and have tried lemon balm to address some digestive issues with very calming results.I have truly been surprised to learn how bountiful the earth can be and how much she has to offer us. It is just a matter of looking around us and discover what so many plants, berries, flowers, and other natural elements can do for us when it comes to preserving and improving our health. I was also amazed to learn how we can use them to live better and longer. Also, the way this book is structured is very easy to understand. You get the information on the plant or flower, learn where it comes from, what it is good for and where you can get it.

Natural Herbal Remedies provides an alphabetical guide to herbal medicine. A nice addition to this guide is that the first few chapters provide a brief introduction explaining how the herbs are used for medicinal purposes, how the author got started with herbal medicine, and how herbs can heal. These first few chapters are not overwhelming for the reader and ease your mind of any concerns. The comprehensive list of herbs is very detailed in order to help relieve any ailment you may have. Further details include things such as medication interactions and side effects, which are important factors to consider. If you are considering using herbs for healing in addition to consulting an herbalist or a medical provider, then this guide is a good reference. Easy to follow and understand, Natural Herbal Remedies is well researched and informative.
