Great for toothbrush, not sure about toothpaste
Iâve been teaching my cat to put up with getting her teeth brushed since we first got her as a kitten, but the brush we were using was too big. This toothbrush is perfect to get in the back teeth especially with the angle at the head of the brush. I can see the finger brush being useful to getting a cat used to their teeth and gums being touched, but I canât see myself using it for my cat. However, my cat runs away whenever I have this toothpaste on the brush. She doesnât like it at all and wonât let me brush her teeth. The smell isnât too pleasant either, but not too fishy to where I feel sick. Iâd say right in the middle. Overall, great for the brush and potentially the finger brush, but the toothpaste wasnât a hit for my cat.

Pros- it’s toothpaste and does what it’s intended to do – it smells like mint which is nice for the humans -it stays on the toothbrush long enough to do the job as long as you apply it to the brush and tap it with your finger once -it comes as a kit so you supposedly have everything you need (toothbrush, fingerbrush, toothpaste)Cons -Cats don’t like the flavor -Cats don’t like the mint scent either -Finger brush doesn’t stay on skinny, narrow fingers -Finger brush is too big for cats’ mouths -Toothbrush is too big for my smaller cat’s mouth (I ended up buying a different toothbrush altogether)I gave it three stars for convenience because if you’re really in a pinch, like I was, you can just buy the kit as a starting point to figure out what works for YOU and your CAT and go from there. But if you have a small cat, get a smaller toothbrush, and I think there is probably definitely a better tasting toothpaste out there. Even just a meat flavored gel for cats used with the toothbrush scrubbing action would probably be more helpful than a toothpaste that a cat loathes, resulting in no tooth brushing.

Everything arrived nicely packaged. The toothpaste looks like it’ll last for a long time, and I’m glad it came with both a regular toothbrush and a finger brush. It will take some practice for your cat to get used to getting their teeth brushed, but it seems like my cat likes the flavor of the toothpaste. The toothbrush bristles are soft and a good size for my cat’s teeth and gums. Overall, would purchase again.

Cats made âEw grossâ face and ran away.
Both my cats made âew grossâ faces when they sniffed this and one literally ran away from this toothpaste as I tried to give him a taste on my finger. One of my cats LOVES the Sentry malt flavored toothpaste. He considers it a delicious treat. The other cat sniffs at it but wonât taste it. Thought maybe tuna flavored would be a hit with him instead. He was the run who ran away from it so… thatâs a big nope. My guess is itâs the mint. I assumed it would be a mild mint akin to catnip, not super minty. Every time I brush my teeth with my super minty human toothpaste, they insist I must be eating something delicious that I should share. So I let them sniff it because I know theyâre going to make that disgusted face and run off and that face is funny! Same face when I put on scented lotion and they want to sniff it. Too strong and too âstinkyâ for cats. Same deal with this toothpaste, I guess? Why wouldnât you just make it smell like tuna too? Catsâ breath isnât supposed to be minty fresh. My cat hates her daily brushing. She hates the taste of this tooth paste. Which smells like a mix of human tooth paste and meat. If she sees me with the toothbrush in hand she’ll try to hide. I am however very pleased with the results.Brushing my cat’s teeth has done wonders for her health and eliminated her bad breath! So while my cat despises the brushing. My cat even does a better job grooming herself since I started brushing her teeth once per day and issues with inflamed gums and build on up her teeth are virtually gone now. I didn’t expect this much improvement or I would have maybe tried to take before and after photo. Provided I could actually hold my cat down to do it.

Cats didnât like taste
I wouldnât be able to tell you if the product works or not because my cats did not like the taste of it at all. My cats both clenched their teeth when I attempted to brush them and I left the toothpaste out on a dish so they could become interested in it – they werenât interested. I ended up giving it to a local âbuy nothingâ group. Iâve seen other people post that they are giving away the product since because it did not work for their cat. I have no idea if itâs the original one I donated or if they were also unlucky enough to buy the item and it didnât work.
