WLPS 3L Widepac Low Profile Hydration System

Specially designed for ballistic vest integration, the low-profile, Widepac Low Profile (WLPS) bladder from Source Tactical reduces the depth of the reservoir,
making it easier to insert when it’s full and leaving more space for cargo in your pack.
Source’s Glass-Like Film is smoother than standard TPU films with virtually no difference from glass itself, preventing bio-film build up and making the system virtually self-cleaning.
And the bladder retains a pure liquid taste with no plastic flavor.
.
The WLPS comes with comes with the high-flow Storm valve, a push-pull system that’s like drinking from a straw. The QMT valve tip offers the convenience of disconnecting
the valve so the tube can be easily woven through tight opening. The 90-degree design allows the tube to be shorter, minimizing excess tubing around your chest and creating an ideal drinking angle.
It also comes with a Dirt-Shield protective cover that protects the valve from valve from dirt, sand, dust, mud, and other pollution. The drinking tube’s Cool Weave cover blocks UV light and insulates,
keeping your water cool.Source has been a groundbreaker in hydration system technology and is also well known for its tactical gear and hiking sandals.
Tested in the most extreme conditions, hundreds of thousands of Source hydration systems are in use in the field.
Features
Hi-Flow Storm-Valve No-bite push-pull valve with integrated shut-off mechanism. Like drinking with a straw. Easy disassembly for cleaning.
Angled Valve Turned 360 degrees for perfect valve/mouth orientation. Allows tube to be 25cm shorter. Less excess tube bouncing around the chest!
Dirt-Shield Protective Cover keeps the drinking valve free of dirt and protected. QMT™ Additional In line QMT™ Quick Connector at the tube extremity, allows connection of filter, UTATM or other accessories with the push of a button.
Cool Weave Cover Tube Insulates and blocks UV-light.
Widepac: User-friendly Widepac slide closure opens wide, allows easy filling, cleaning, draining and ice insertion; provides airtight, leakproof seal
Low Profile: centered baffle wall keeps low-profile shape of reservoir, regardless of water level; allows for integration in ballistic vest.
Drinking Tube: weave covered drinking tube keeps liquids cool and insulated; QMT quick connector with auto-sealing mechanism allows easy attachment.
Unique SOURCE Hydration Technologies: Glass Like properties and Grunge Guard prevent dirt build-up and provide purest water taste; virtually self-cleaning and low maintenance; Widepac closure for easy refill.
Storm Push-Pull Valve: no-bite high flow drinking valve with twist-to-shut mechanism; secure lock for storage and transportation.

    Best bladder there is!
This thing has been awesome! Firstly, they work just fine. No leaks and very durable. I ruck with a 25 lbs weight right next to it and it’s never leaked or broken in about a year. The next and probably the best part is there is no rubber flavor to it at all right from the beginning. I’ve also left water sitting in there for about a month and it tasted just fine ( gross I know). It’s also easy to clean.Overall, it’s the best bladder out there in my opinion and you should just buy it cuz you won’t regret it at all.

Better than other hydration systems I’ve used.
This hydration water system is durable and does the job. Unlike other competitors’ hydration hoses, Source Tactical’s secured hydration hose is not excessively long, nor does it flop around. Additionally, the entire length of the hose is insulated by the “Cool Weave” cover, while the competition’s hoses are not and is made of neoprene. My experience with the neoprene hose cover is that it does not keep the water in the hose cool on hot days.Source Tactical’s Widepac Low Profile bladder has no water cap to screw on, and the tethered bladder clamp easily slides off the top of the bladder to reveal a wide opening to fill with water and ice cubes, if preferred. Also, one can also detach the hose and the bladder will not leak.As an aside, I learned about this particular hydration system from a former Special Forces NCO and I’m glad I made the switch.

    Excellent bladder.
I have used these bladders for a couple of years now and haven’t had any problems that were not caused by miss use. The material is thick enough to last and the wide opening at the top makes cleaning so easy that you have no excuse not to clean it.Once, I slipped on a trail and landed on my Rush backpack that had one of these bladders in it and only noticed some “sweating” type leaking around the connection at the bottom of the bladder. I’m not a small guy (over 6′ and around 250lbs) so I was surprised it didn’t explode.I replaced that bladder with a new one anyway but I did use the old one to make a gravity water filter with a Sawyer mini and a hose clamp. It works REALLY well for this and it doesn’t matter if it leaks a little around the coupling.— Overall, I really like these and I DO recommend them to my friends.

Good water pack, however the valve needs a lock
You can feel the thickness and quality of the plastic. There is no bad taste or odor, even on first use (though you should still clean it first). The hose is good quality, not super long, and protected by a mesh sleeve. The valve is interesting, you twist and pull to open it, but you can’t lock it open. You have to hold it open with your teeth, and the suction pulls the valve shut. Kind of irritating, and makes it more difficult to use.The price could also be a bit lower.Still, 9/10 would recommend.

Great Bladder, fits my 5.11 Rush 12 well.
This is a great bladder overall so far. I like that the top fully opens for easier cleaning and filling (although it can be a PITA to get it closed sometimes). The quick connects make it much easier to insert and remove from my pack, and the quality is pretty good. The best thing about this bladder is that it fits my 5.11 RUSH 12 Backpack Sandstone which is rated for smaller bladders, which enables me to carry more water without a larger pack, although it does bulge a little bit.My only qualm (which is why I docked it a star) is that the bite valve doesn’t seem to work as well as others that I’ve used, seems like it takes more effort than it should, but other than that it’s great.

    Simply the best.
This is the best hydration source you can buy. I’m in the military and it has survived many years of abuse. The wide opening makes cleaning a breeze.

Perfect for 5.11 RUSH (or similar) Backpacks
This is Source’s WLPS (Wide Low Profile System) hydration reservoir. After much research I found the perfect reservoir for my 5.11 RUSH backpacks. This reservoir fits all the RUSH backpacks including the RUSH 12. The Velcro loop in the top of the RUSH bags fits through the slot of the reservoir closure clip to secure it to the backpack. The QD (quick disconnect) design allows you to easily disconnect the hose and route it through the backpack and then plug it into the reservoir without any water spillage. Another advantage when using with these types of backpacks is this model does not come with a large bulky fill cap. The reservoir has a partial divider inside to prevent the reservoir from “ballooning” out. But probably the best advantage is you can fill this reservoir without removing it from the backpack by purchasing the optional UTA adapter. The quality and design are excellent. These are amazing!!! Just the perfect size for a day hike or even just to drink from at work, lol. It seems to be really durable. We bought the nozzle addition so we can easily refill w/ a hose or water bottle w/ out removing our packs, .. So perfect! We refilled once directly from a spring and the water stayed super cold for the entire day. I just love it! Water bottles are now a thing of our past. 🙂
