REALLY love this book
I really, REALLY love this book. I nursed two kids for a total of five years and started taking Ashwagandha in between the second and my current pregnancy. Ashwagandha made a huge difference in my health in general and I was instructed to stop taking it during pregnancy and I’m kind of counting the days until I can start again, so I found this book by Googling Ashwagandha and nursing. I wanted a physical source from a qualified individual to point to because I don’t encounter any health providers who have heard of Ashwagandha. Not only did it reassure me about my favorite herb, I’m learning new things. It’s easy to navigate and I’ll be recommending this if other moms ask if I have any suggestions for breastfeeding books.

Excellent Advice That Worked for Me
I was struggling quite a bit with my supply when I started pumping and was desperate for good-quality information based on science. This book fit the bill! The author is an IBCLC and cites scientific studies and papers, not just hearsay and anecdotes. I used her tips and information to develop recipes around breast milk producing foods and pumping practices. By following her advice, I was able to increase my average pumping session amount from under 3 oz (or less!) to almost 4.5 oz. I don’t worry about pumping enough for daycare anymore AND I’m actually building a freezer stash. It’s wonderful!

Very informative!
I found this book incredibly helpful! I’ve now gifted this book to several new mom’s who inevitability have plenty of nursing questions. Breastfeeding isn’t always easy but made more possible with the help of a village. I consider this book (and the author who was my lactation consultant) to be a huge part of my village!! It’s very informative and covers many topics! A must!

Amazing recipes! Great information!
I love this book! The information is very helpful and well organized. My favorite is the recipes. Especially if you are plant based. I just made the Moringa Muffins. They are delicious! I have made some of the drinks as well, and they are excellent!
