Affordable & strong
Absolutely love these. I have three dogs, 85lbs, 80lbs and 75lbs. None of them have gotten off these leads, and one of my dogs is an escape artist. Two of my dogs spend about 95% of their time on these leads. I did replace mine after a few months because the coating on the lead cracked. These leads are so cheap and extremely effective that I don’t mind replacing them every 3-4 months.

Great for Medium Dogs
I have a 40 lb malimute- who thinks she’s a 100 pound wolf. She can snap any tie-out I put her on and she’s an escape artists when it comes to collars and harnesses. She’s definitely a fighter so I needed to find something strong enough to hold her, yet would easily slide along her original tie-out rope that goes across the yard. This one works. I have to change it out about every 4 months because she eventually fights so hard that she breaks them. But for the price it’s a good deal. It holds her well, and unlike chains it doesn’t tangle around things or cut her with sharp edges. It’s light-weight so she doesn’t feel like she’s chained up when she’s playing outside. And it doesn’t tangle around her, so it’s really safe for her to use. I feel 100% comfortable with her being outside with this tie-out. Other tie-outs I worried that they would break too easily or tangle around her or shrubbery. But this one it perfect.I live in Alaska- so our -40 degree weather plays a huge role in the fact that these snap. But during the summer months it works great, and never breaks. The package does have a warning not to use in below freezing weather (which I’m assuming because the metal gets brittle and the plastic coating breaks). So I’m giving it 5 stars because I know if it was used in the contental US it would be ideal for medium sized dogs. It’s light-weight, durable, doesn’t tangle, and my dog doesn’t seem to mind it at all.

Works great for my 65 lb boxer
This chain is surprisingly strong for how lightweight it is. My boxer does pull to the end to bark at all the “intruders” he can see from the backyard. Thankfully he no longer pulls hard enough on the chain to cause him to do a backflip. This chain has held up fine so far (after only a couple months) and he has never escaped. The clip on this is so much more convenient than the Boss Pet Super Beast chain we previously owned. Honestly, even though it is lighter and the chain connection is smaller, I believe this will hold up to my dogs abuse just as well as the Super Beast chain did. It is the end of winter here so it has been very wet and the weather has varied from -5 to 50 F so far. There is no sign of rust or cracking of the plastic yet. Like most chains, I imagine I will need to replace this in 6 months – 1 year because of cracking and rusting issues.

A lifesaver for two dogs without a fenced backyard!
I have two 4 month old puppies and I unfortunately don’t have a fenced in back yard yet. My guys are about 40 pounds, but will likely get up to about 100 when full grown. I bought two of these to replace some thinner diameter leads I bought at a brick and mortar store. The old leads constantly tangled up with each other, and started to look like a retro phone cord, often causing my boys to trip on them. I was constantly wading into the fray, trying to make sure neither of them got hurt. These leads are a lifesaver! I bought the 30 foot leads in silver for dogs up to 250 pounds after doing a lot of comparison shopping, not wanting to get another coiled up mess. I wish I had gotten these ages ago! The lead is well constructed in such a way to avoid getting kinks or tangled together. It is much better quality for the price than what I was seeing at the pet store for $30 dollars. My boys can easy wrassle and play with each other without the leads coiling around their legs and tripping them. I would highly recommend this for people with two dogs. I can tell my guys are appreciating the difference too, because they are playing longer and not being jerked around the neck when they get to the end. And, I like the unobtrusive silver color for the hundreds of puppy pics I’ve been posting to Instagram! One word of warning. I unfortunately got caught between the leads when my dogs saw a neighbor and got excited. The lead took the skin right off one of my legs, but this is wholly a human error from not paying attention. Just be careful! Because these aren’t tangling around my boys, they haven’t caused any rubbing or other similar issues with them, though! If there ever comes a time where I need to replace the leads, I’ll will repurchase these. Great value for the price, extremely well constructed, and safe for my boys!

Disappointed.
This is only a short-term solution that does not hold up to Midwest weather very well. The plastic coating began to wear off within a few months and then the cable quickly began to rust. I’d have to be very careful when handling the tie-out not to get cut by the jagged, rusted places on the cable. At the 10 month mark, the cable snapped in half. I used the tie-out 4 or 5 times a day, for 10 or 15 minutes each time, by a dog weighing about 50 lbs. Disappointed.

Amazon comes through again!
Bought for my baby pit-bull. When I got it I thought it was perfect for my dog. Long enough for her to run around, and secure enough, so I thought. After a full day of work, I came home to my dog being gone. Cable didn’t break, clasp was in tact on both ends, we didn’t know what happened. Luckily, we found her after a full day of looking. Collar on the dog was intact, could not understand what happend. Attached the cable/clasp to her again and after about 30 minutes of watching her, noticed the clasp would open on it’s own, that’s how my dog got loose. Clasp was defective, contacted Amazon, then sent me a replacement with free next day shipping. This cable works, tested all weekend. all works fine, happy with cable and Amazon, as always!
