Guardian of Leftovers
Food storage containers: because sometimes you just need a plastic fortress to guard your leftover pizza from a rogue midnight snack attack. These marvels of modern engineering promise to keep your food fresh, unless, of course, you forget to secure the lid, in which case, enjoy your new science experiment. They’re like Tetris pieces for your kitchen, where the goal is to cram every last bit of your pantry into a never-ending game of “Will it fit?” They come in every shape and size, as if the right container will magically make your leftovers taste better or your meal prep more glamorous. This size is the best too. For those of you single ladies and gents out there like me who will labor over the pot for hours only to wind up with pasta sauce fit to serve an army, these are great because you can portion your servings out to a single nights use and store the rest in the freezer for another time. The lids? Oh, theyâre a whole separate adventureâfinding the matching one is like a scavenger hunt, but with a reward of less potential spills. But luckily these lids can clip together so at least if you find one, you should have found the others too. Despite their quirks, food storage containers are the unsung heroes of your kitchen, keeping your leftovers safe and your cabinets cluttered in the most organized way possible.

If you are crazy about left over storage you need these!
Did you ever want to have a complete collection of plastic food containers that stack well, and all use the same lid? Well I never really had that problem. But someone I live with does. And he is in fact so crazy about having a certain size (24 oz) container, that when we tried to give away left overs at Thanksgiving, he made a big stink about which ones we let leave the house. I recently found that part of the problem was that for some reason, these particular containers had started to be hard to find in the local stores. Well, as I am an Amazon prime member, I decided to see if we could build up our supply of these specific containers, with the blue lids on line. It seemed like a perfect solution. Just get them delivered. So I ordered the bulk pack! That’s right, 6 packages of 5 containers and lids. A complete set of 30 containers. You can not believe the joy they brought when they arrived. It seems like we will never be short of 24 oz glad ware containers for a long time. The problem is, that the rationing has not ended. Most of the new containers are stored in the basement pantry. Not in the kitchen. So I am concerned that issue my be bigger than hard to find containers. I am concerned that there may be a bit of a hoarding issue. But the bottom line is, these containers will stay sealed even when inverted. They nest nicely for storage, and they also stack nicely in the refrigerator, and they fit easily in most lunch boxes. Even a child’s lunchbox. The bottom line is that if you use plastic containers to store leftovers, or for lunches, and want to be able to occasionally give some away without causing anyone to get upset about the fact that the container might never come back home, then buy this bulk pack. It is a value, and a fantastic product.

Inexpensive and useful!
I’ve used these Glad containers for probably 10 years. I use them for leftovers, for sending food to friends’ houses, for kids’ snacks, for holding paint when I’m painting trim, and for keeping hardware like screws and nuts contained in one place. We’ve also used them over the years to keep grasshoppers, toads, and various other small animals and tadpoles long enough to admire them before releasing them. I’ve used them for putting out water for the cats when their bowl has frozen over, and I’ve used them as a scoop in a big bag of bird seed. They’re the perfect size for so many jobs, and if they break or get stained I’m not upset. The bowls themselves are rectangular and hold 2-3 (up to 24 ounces) cups of whatever. They are thicker than the plastic bowls you get with lunchmeat at the store. They wash well and don’t get brittle with age. The lids are a little more fragile, but I hand wash them and air dry them in the dish drainer so the heat of the dishwasher doesn’t destroy them. This 30-pack of bowls and lids is a great value. With free SuperSaver shipping (on orders over $25) they are .89 cents each. If you get them through Subscribe & Save you’ll get the free shipping and the price drops to .76 cents each.I can’t imagine our household without these great little bowls!

My “go to” containers for leftovers …
I’ve been using these 24-ounce Glad Food Storage Containers for years, and there’s a reason for that. They simply work best to hold leftovers and reheat them in the microwave.I’m single, but most recipes make 4+ servings, so I end up with a lot of leftovers. Glad to the rescue: These hold a lot, but they’re easier to store in the fridge than round containers — they take up less. space.I also use them for my soups and stews: I make a full pot, then ladle it into these containers. Cool briefly on the counter, then into the fridge for a cool-down, then into the freezer for longer term storage. When I’m ready, I put one on the fridge overnight, then reheat in the microwave the next day. I’ve never had a problem with melting — my microwave is an 1100W built-in model, and I usually reheat for a longer period using a lower setting (say, 5 minutes on level 5 or 6).Price-wise, they’re reasonable here on Amazon. I have them on subscribe-and-save (yes, I use them that much), so the price is very comparable to what I would pay in the local supermarket, and for the few cents more that I pay here, having to-my-door delivery every month is worth it.

Bought this for my lunches and my husband ended up using them for leftovers because they are really a perfect size for just under medium. We ended up giving some away with left overs from a family dinner and I’ll be buying more of them!

We have been using these for years. I bought more of the same so the new would stack with the old when not in use. Over time the lids tear – usually at the opening flap. If you reheat fatty material in the microwave it can distort or pock-mark the base – better to transfer to glass or earthenware if you are going to use higher temperatures.

These are the best thing since sliced bread. These are obviously not as great of quality as tupperware or rubbermaid, but it wonât stress you out when your children or spouse loses or destroys them. And I prefer these rectangular (or square) containers over round as they are more space efficient in my cupboards and fridge.Although Iâd much prefer to have all of my food storage containers to be glass, these are much more portable for taking left-overs to work.Long gone are the days that I would ever consider microwaving anything plastic, so thankfully there are proper dishes at work I can use for reheating food when necessary. (I urge you to take your health into your own hands and not blindly trust that little statement that says âmicrowave safeâ.)Anyway, this size (3 cups) is definitely convenient for soups, & salads as well as other leftovers in general. Not too big, and not too small!

I’m used to containers from Dollarama. In comparison,, these are thicker and appear to be good quality containers. Knowing they are BPA free is always a plus. The lids go on very securely and liquids don’t seem to come out. The instructions state that you can microwave food in the container and place the lid loosely on top to prevent splatter. I’ve had bad experiences in the past microwaving lids, but I tried this with one of the Glad containers and after two weeks the lid is a bit loose now, so I don’t recommend putting the lid on. The size is perfect for me as I can fit in enough salad for my lunch, or two sandwiches for lunch (I’m a big guy and eat two).

These are unfortunately too small for a real salad or soup.
