As a server and bartender at a wine bar…
…wine keys are a premium commodity. I purchased these originally for a coworker that commonly forgets and loses their own. They happen to love the color and relatively lightweight nature of this brand, and they haven’t yet misplaced or broken it, so it seems to hold together pretty well. I’ve since stored an extra one in my work and travel bags, and the couple of times I’ve used them, they open easily, perform well, and seem to hold together. I tend to prefer the slightly larger, heavier style of the Hicoup while at work, but in terms of a smaller key that I feel comfortable traveling with and possibly misplacing, these are now my go-to.

Poor Quality, not good for professional server
Bought multicolor pack to give as gifts to coworkers at a restaurant I was leaving. Thought the multi color variety pack was a fun idea to give each person a unique one. But three of the ones that came in the pack were just plain black. The one I kept for myself (I had an extra) is the only one I have experience using, but itâs not good.The pin in one hinge was falling out after only a week of using mine. Also, the corkscrew has already bent enough that it makes it difficult to open wine bottles. Not ideal for a professional server. After opening only 20 to 30 bottles it behaves like a typical wine key thatâs been used a few hundred times.Buy the wine key from Trader Joeâs, itâs $3 and itâs the sturdiest, most reliable one Iâve ever had.

THEY WORK
Started a server job and needed some of my own wine keys. These work great and also are plentyful if you lose one. I did break one cork so far, but I believe that’s user error. Price is pretty fair as well.

I have purchased these before. Many people have terrible corkscrews, so I bring one with me. If there’s suck, I give them the one I brought. Life is too short to battle a bad corkscrew. It’s a great product for a great price, and I enjoy sharing.
