It looks like Sigma has 3 lens announcements coming later this month or in June. We’re going to see one full-frame lens, and that’ll be the 200mm f/2. Sadly, we won’t be getting that for the RF mount.
What the RF mount is likely to get from Sigma is two new APS-C lenses. Sigma currently makes 4 prime and 3 zoom lenses for APS-C RF mount cameras. All of which are quite good.
Maybe we shouldn’t assume that the APS-C offerings coming from Sigma will get RF mounts.
What could we see from SIGMA?
We don’t think we’ll be getting another superzoom, as Sigma recently launched the Sigma 16-300mm f/3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary. Sigma never did a “DC” lens longer than 300mm for the EF mount that we can remember, and we don’t think that’ll happen for RF.

We could possibly see a fast prime lens wider than the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary. Something like a 10mm f/1.4 DC DN would be nice.
There could also be a possibility of Sigma doing an 85mm f/1.4 DC DN, which would be a 135mm full frame equivalent.
On the zoom side of things, I have no idea what Sigma would come up with for crop cameras. They always did things a little different in the EF days and that could continue.
Summary
The Canonverse is very quiet now, and it looks like Sigma and Sony want all the attention this month.
More RF-S options would be great. It’ll be interesting to see if Canon lets the third-party makers get in on the PowerZoom functionality that was recently featured in the new RF-S 14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ. I don’t think it’ll happen and maybe that’s where Canon will put their focus when it comes to APS-C lenses.
We have been using the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary with the EOS R50 V and it has been a terrific combo.
