Film photographers have seen a massive reintroduction of the format in the digital world. While the numbers are still relatively smaller, there are many practitioners who choose analog today to challenge themselves or to build a project with a distinct vision. It may seem that the joy of film photography was never lost. If you are someone who has recently shown interest in analog or just wants a second camera for yourself, then these point-and-shoots will be ideal for you. They are cost-effective, popular, and continue to be loved by many.

Olympus Pen

Olympus Pen

Olympus has been quite a huge name in the camera market. The Pen, which is the first camera in the long series, was a 35mm film camera manufactured between 1959 and the 1980s. A first half-frame camera created in Japan, the Pen was the smallest point-and-shoot 35mm camera. It comes with a simple setup — a viewfinder, manual settings, and a 28mm f3.5 Zuiko lens. The shutter speed is between 1/25 and 1/200, and there is a bulb mode for those who want to try light painting on film.

Konica Hexar AF

Konica Hexar AF

The Konica Hexar AF is an ideal point-and-shoot camera for anyone into street photography. It features a “stealth” or “silent” film advance mode, which means it has the quietest film advance motor for a 35mm camera. Thus, this gives the device a massive advantage over any other device in this league. It also comes with a sharp 35mm f2 Hexar lens, and its design is similar to Leica M cameras. It has an electronic leaf shutter speed range of 30 seconds to 1/250th, plus T. There is an LCD panel at the top that indicates shutter speed.

Minolta TC-1

Minolta TC-1

Minolta once made iconic point-and-shoot cameras, and the TC-1 is an example of that. The camera features a multi-coated Minolta G-Rokkor 28mm f3.5 lens, a four-step, bladeless aperture that comes with a circular aperture hole disc. This means the camera will provide you with exceptional bokeh, ideal for environmental portraits. There is an aperture priority only mode and a dedicated spot metering button as well. It also has a shutter speed of 1/750s to 4s and a built-in flash with a guide number of 7m.

Nikon 35Ti/28Ti

Nikon 35Ti/28Ti

Nikon’s FM2 was one of the most popular analog cameras used by various photojournalists around the world. The 35Ti, in that regard, is an offering for serious enthusiasts of film photography. Introduced in 1993, the Nikon 35Ti has a unique window that includes four “clock hands” that help to see exposure, aperture, and distance. It can shoot 13mm x 36mm panorama images, which will be loved by many today. The camera comes with a 35mm f2.8 Nikkor lens, infrared-controlled autofocus, matrix metering, exposure compensation, and built-in electronic flash. The shutter speed is between 1/500 sec. and 2 sec, with a 10-minute exposure feature as well. The same premium point and shoot was later introduced with a 28mm lens called 28Ti.

Leica Minilux

Leica Minilux

The Leica Minilux is popular for its 40mm f2.4 Summarit lens and the design, which was created with high-end materials. The Minilux is a premium 35mm camera that includes automatic exposure features and manual controls. Some other features to grace the device are exposure compensation in half-stop values from +/-2 WV, an automatic film advance and rewind mechanics, and center-weighted manual focus. The camera is so loved that the price on eBay goes up to $1400.
