Actions have consequences—this is Edwin Murray’s.
Can you fix what is broken in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic by getting a bittersweet ending for the Murray family’s story? FNAF has to start from somewhere, but how will Edwin’s tale end? It’s up to you.
There are three endings in Secret of the Mimic, each having lore revelations that stir up everything we know about FNAF’s intricate lore. Collectibles are crucial here, with multiple endings locked behind MCM’s security system, under the .exe folders at the Facility terminals. You can snag yourself two endings in your first playthrough, but it’s a longer road to reach the third and final ending. So, here is how to get every Secret of the Mimic ending and what they mean.
Secret of the Mimic ending guide: How to unlock and what each means
FNAF: Secret of the Mimic bad ending

This ending is easy to achieve as you don’t need to do anything but play through the game as you normally would. This will likely be the first ending you unlock. After completing Dispatch’s objectives, you hand over the Data Diver and exit through the garage. Driving home, expecting your $25 gift certificate and a good night’s sleep; Arnold is attacked by a hitchhiking Mimic.
Turns out, Dispatch was the Mimic after all, a twist just like Security Breach Ruin DLC. You may have figured this out already because of Dispatch’s callous behavior and apathetic responses. He was also very pushy for you to upgrade the Data Diver to Executive permissions. This is exactly what the Mimic wanted. Arnold was playing into Mimic2’s hands all along. Mimic takes Arnold back to the Costume Manor and installs him into Freddy’s prototype suit, to stand on stage performing alongside the first twisted iterations of Chica and Bonnie.
It’s unclear, however, if this ending is canon or if the more complicated conclusion is instead. Let’s move on to it.
ingFNAF: Secret of the Mimic canon end

You can get this ending by continuing your previous playthrough from the last checkpoint (when you need to return to the Security Office for the last time). Instead of going home, select the Parachute.exe on the terminal now that you have Executive access. A secret hatch will open in the room, leading you to Edwin Murray’s replica of Fazbear’s Diner and his family home. Prototype versions of Freddy, Bonnie, Foxy, and Chica are here. Using their suits to drain the power, you need to stand on the red spotlights (the same positions where each animatronic would stand in the first Five Nights).
Arnold meets F10 N4, the security system of Mimic1, otherwise known as Fiona (Edwin’s late wife). Following this, you must find all five Birthday Tapes in Edwin’s house, all while avoiding the Mimic at all times. One is behind the stairs, two are downstairs and two more upstairs; play each tape at the projector room (safe area) to get the code for the room upstairs. The code will always be: Green, Magenta, Blue, Red, and Yellow.

Arnold starts Cradle.exe, which sets the Facility ablaze. He seemingly makes it out of the Costume Manor alive, but is pursued by animatronic minions and Mimic2. Arnold crashes, yet Mimic survives and is now free, stealing the upgraded Data Diver off Arnold’s dying body.
We believe this is canon as the fire is a recurring theme in Five Nights at Freddy’s. What happens to the Costume Manor lines up with what we knew about the Mimic and FazBear Entertainment’s history. Perhaps the Fall Fest fire was Arnold’s doing, but it occurred at Edwin Murray’s Facility instead.
FNAF: Secret of the Mimic secret ending

The final ending and the hardest one to get is via Moon.exe, which can be found on any security terminal. This text-based adventure game is based on David’s life, with sentimental items linking his childhood and relationship with his father. You cannot complete Moon.exe without all 25 collectibles, however. The most important collectible is the White Tiger Toy, which is given to you after completing the game. This means the final ending is locked behind New Game+.

Fiona (Sun) has scattered the 25 collectibles or presents for you to find and place inside the Inventory Tube System. Doing so adds them to the Moon.exe game. You’re given the Glitched Permission upon completing Moon, upgrading your Data Diver beyond Executive. Select Parachute.exe at the end of the game, as you need Executive access to do so, and play until you reach Edwin’s house.
With the Glitched Permission on your Data Diver, access the room at the top of the stairs that has flashing lights as its Data Diver symbol. You should find six cassette players on the wall, where you need to find all six Bedtime Story tapes in the adjacent glitched rooms of Edwin’s house.

The point of this ending is to finish what Edwin started, to insert the Glitched Permission into M2 (David). Once all six tapes have been found and placed in the wall, a vent will open in the room, leading to David’s bedroom. Before you go, however, go to the Inventory Tube System and take out the White Tiger Toy.
Complete Edwin and Fiona’s bedtime story by hitting the animal symbols in the following order before MK2 attacks: Fox, Chicken, Alligator, and Rabbit. Hearing his “parents’” story, MK2 glitches, allowing Arnold to insert the Glitched Permission and restore the Mimic. The endoskeleton refers back to the last thing it copied: David. No longer broken by Edwin’s wrath, MK2 settles into bed, and we watch the light go out of its eyes.
