Finest Dry Food in three years
Perfect for our two ten-pound gals. I have raised Greyhounds as a business for over a decade and know what to expect from the best dry feed to raise the best. This is fairly priced for such excellent quality. We add several “topper” items like chicken, chicken liver, boiled eggs, and chicken or beef stock to moisten. We named one of our gals, “HOOVER” because she almost vacuums up her feed.A pleasure to know we are feeding the best for our best! Six stars is a more accurate review. Our “kids” have excellent health, bright eyes, and silk-like coats. Kudos! to Wellness!

Good dog food
My dog has been eating this food brand since he was 8 weeks old. It is always fresh and good quality. He likes the taste and chews through the pebbles easily.

Must try
For our animal rescue, finding the right food that supports the health and growth of our littlest rescues is crucial. That’s why we’ve been trying out the Wellness Complete Health Small Breed Dry Dog Food, specifically the Puppy formula with Turkey, Salmon, and Oatmeal. It comes in a manageable 4-pound bag, perfect for our space and the turnover of pups we care for.First off, the ingredient list is impressive. Real turkey as the first ingredient, complemented by salmon and oatmeal, provides a balanced blend of protein, omega fatty acids, and essential vitamins. It’s exactly what our growing puppies need to develop strong muscles, healthy brains, and beautiful coats. The fact that it’s made in the USA with natural ingredients gives us peace of mind about the quality and safety of the food we’re offering. Plus, it’s specifically formulated for dogs up to 25 lbs, which covers the range of most of our small breed puppies. Our pups have been absolutely loving it, which is saying something for the picky eaters in the bunch. We’ve noticed their energy levels are up, their coats are shinier, and overall, they seem happier and more vibrant. This food has been a fantastic choice for our rescue, supporting not just the physical health of our puppies, but also giving them the delicious meals they deserve. For any other rescues or pet parents of small breeds out there, I’d highly recommend giving this a try. It’s a choice that feels good for their health, and something they’re clearly excited to eat at every mealtime.

Veterinarian highly recommended
Wellness pet food is the finest quality pet food available, in my opinion, and I am a long time holistic veterinarian who uses it for my own pet, and for other pets in the past. Wellness foods are wheat, corn, soy, additive and preservative free. They are ideal holistic nutrition for healthy pets as well as pets needing a restricted diet for food sensitivities of any kind, and never include potentially problematic ingredients. This is the case with my beloved rescue dog who as a puppy had to have such a specific restricted healthy diet that if she ate anything else she would be vomiting and having diarrhea for a week, needing fluid therapy. As much as I didn’t like it, she had to be on constant medications and probiotics for her first couple years of life, before finally being healthy enough to be tapered off of these.. She initially was saved as a puppy from these repeated bouts of illness by Iams Prime Naturals and then Iams Sensitive Naturals, but when these became hard to find, after extensive research into nutrition and the available options, I found Wellness, and that has been what has kept her healthy and happy ever since. I liked the quality and standards of ingredients so much that I switched all my other pets including cats to Wellness as well.Wellness does offer grain free versions also, but in my opinion and that of most veterinarians, grain free foods for pets are a fad with no real nutritional or biological basis, anymore than the fad in people. Dogs and cats are not wild animals and even cats are not obligate carnivores who eat no other types of foods besides meats. There is simply no scientific basis for this unfortunate fad, and I don’t believe these foods are as well balanced as the original formulations of a high quality top of the line holistic food like Wellness, which is tested and certified at every step of development and production for the health and well-being of the pets who will be fed this food. Sure, cheap pet food with corn and chicken by products are not healthy by any stretch of the imagination, but easily digested carbohydrates from healthy sources like barley and rice, and sometimes potato, are important for a well balanced diet for our pets and for the digestion and assimilation of all the good healthy nutrients in high quality foods like Wellness.I will mention one more thing – even though this is “small breed” version of this food, and I have a 20 lb dog, I feed her the regular size kibble because the pieces of this are so small they are smaller than most cat food kibble. Larger pieces involve some chewing which is essential for dental health. Very few dogs would be small enough to need kibble this size. I personally buy it to use as treats for my dog because it is easy to use and she loves it, and it is very hard to find treats that meet the strict standards of quality needed to keep her healthy. Also, she has a treat-dispensing ball toy which can be set to a smaller opening for smaller pieces, and the “small breed” kibble fits perfectly into that toy for maximum enjoyment. In summary, I can say that I as a holistic veterinarian prefer Wellness food to even proprietary foods sold only by veterinarians. I think the quality and the standards of their ingredients cannot be matched by any other food. I will always feed it to my dog,(but the regular kibble for her regular meals, not the “small breed”), for the rest of her life, and also to any other pets I acquire. And it’s good to have the “small breed” tiny kibble available to use for treats and her toys. Holistic nutrition when it leads to healthy high quality food such as this cannot be beat. Cannot highly recommend enough!!

Remy, my dog, now LOVES his dinner.
My dog will not eat his dinner without this nutritious topper. I put him on a healthy dry dog food and this makes him love his food. Prior to using it be would not eat his regular food.

Got rid of Bloody Diarrhea from Purina Pro Plan in 3 days!!
We have an itchy 6mos. shih tzu so we were looking for kibbles that could make her itching disappear. We tried this one and it didnât work so we switched to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach but then she started having nonstop bloody diarrhea!! Luckily I still kept this bag, and when I switched her back it already started improving. After 3 days her stool was completely back to normal. Once we get her allergen testing back I will probably still stick to this brand, but hopefully find something in their kibble line that can make our dog stop itching. This brand got my trust after making my dog better. Also, she really likes it! Out of Hills, RC, Purina Pro Plan, and Fromm, this is the one that makes her hop and bark while waiting for food to get ready. Finishes her bowl every single time! RC/Fromm is her second favorite 🙂 haha.

Good product, have a picky pug and she likes it, just a small portion seems to fill her up which is good.

My dog had a heart murmur and the vet suggested that we change her diet to include grains. I had never heard of that before that the lack of grain in dog foods were associated with certain types of heart disease. I took her to the vet last week and he said he could no longer hear a heart murmur. I think the change in diet will extend the life of my senior dog. Check with your vet before switching but this really seemed to help our little chihuahua.

There’s a lot of woo in dog food these days, and I can’t say I haven’t been drawn in by it at times. This food seems to suit my 12-year-old diabetic pug and his fussy tummy. Whether it is the best ingredients, or “natural”, or “organic”, is not relevant to me. What matters is that he remains healthy for as long as reasonable, the food provides adequate nutrition, and he enjoys eating it. This food checks all three boxes.

I chose this food for my small rescue Yorkie mix after reading a lot of online reviews. He really likes this food and it has been excellent in keeping him healthy. At his last vet visit, the vet actually said “whatever you’re feeding him, keep it up! His ears are nice and clear, his skin and fur are excellent, and his weight is perfect”. I’m very happy with this food and I like that it is high quality.
