**A Must-Have for Pet Digestive Health**
Iâm so glad I found Vetoquinol Pro-Pectalin Oral Paste for my dog! Heâs had occasional digestive issues, and this product has made a noticeable difference. The chicken flavor is a huge plusâmy dog loves it and takes it without any fuss. Iâve seen a significant improvement in his stool consistency, and it helps keep his digestive system balanced and healthy. This paste works quickly to reduce loose stool and diarrhea, and itâs great for supporting his overall gut health. It also helps balance his gut pH and maintain normal intestinal flora, which is crucial for digestion. I love that itâs easy to administer, and since it’s specifically designed for both dogs and cats, I can use it for all my pets.If your pet has occasional digestive discomfort, I highly recommend giving Vetoquinol Pro-Pectalin a try. Itâs effective, gentle, and has helped my pet feel better in no time.

It works and I love the Amazon pricing
After months of cleaning the floor when we discovered that my dog was sensitive to food containing chicken, the vet had me try this kaolin paste. Within 2 nights, her G-I issues were calmed and we all have slept through the night ever since. So, great product for my dog, who is a Cavalier. And the price on Amazon is half of what the vet has to charge. It took a few days of subterfuge to get her to take it. But then she discovered that she loves the flavor and begs for it. We gave some to our neighborâs dog with similar problems, and he also was picky at first till he discovered he likes it.At first my dog had to take 2x daily, now she has one smaller dose 2x a week.Love my vet.

Works great and fast!
Worked really well! Used it on kitty while she had parasites before we could get into the vet. Definitely helped harden things up to give her some relief! Vet said that itâs not harsh too, so you can use it for prolonged periods of time without worrying about side effects. Only issue is that Kitty didnât like the way it tasted, but thatâs to be expected with medicine. Also loved that the plunger had serving markings on it to know exactly how much I was giving. Tube is huge so has lots left in case we have any recurring issues.

Great for my dog
Worked great for my dog! My friend recommended it after my dog had some awful tummy issues and this stuff really helped.

Has worked effectively for my older cat, but had 5cc air space at start, so shorted some
Chloe, our older cat, has occasionally been having loose stools and vomiting associated with recently diagnosed kidney failure. Following her initial bad episode last month, she left the vet with this ProPectalin Anti Diarrheal Gel for Dogs and Cats (30 cc), which is actually a paste. After having loose bowels for the first time Chloe became distressed and then vomited. She later had another episode of loose bowels, vomited copiously, and then was taken to the vet where they ran a multitude of tests, kept her overnight, and subsequently provided the kidney failure diagnosis and kidney care wet and dry food. When Chloe is not having problems with loose bowels or vomiting she seems to feel fine (happy and content), and she drinks from her fountain regularly, so we hope to have her for a good while longer. Use of ProPectalin has been effective in helping Chloe with her sensitive stomach and has been firming her stool.Re kidney problem food changes: Unfortunately, we are no longer able to give her the brand of food that she had previously enjoyed, because that brand of the kidney care is provided in turkey and beef flavor, the consistency of which she had been refusing to eat in regular cat food, even after blended in the food processor (as she prefers). She had been enjoying regular wet chicken entrée food blended in the food processor, but doesn’t like the new chicken kidney wet food from the vet, and even in small portions it makes her vomit, so she is eating mostly that food’s dried version.Re vomiting: Skip this section of the review if your cat is not having vomiting issues. Since returning from the vet Chloe has had 2 significant episodes (and a small one) of loose bowels with subsequent vomiting. After such episodes we remove all food and water, wait one hour, and then provide one teaspoon (tsp) of water. If she holds that we provide a 2nd tsp of water one hour later. If she holds that water we give her a similar amount of water the third hour, and then increase the amount to 2 teaspoons at the 4th hour. We continue with the 2 teaspoons every hour for about 3 times, and then start giving her that amount at approximate 45-minute intervals. Then we move to 3 teaspoons of water. We very gradually increase the amount of water. If she does fine we go to 30-minute intervals but never leave more than 3 teaspoons of water in her bowl until she settles for the night. This is to prevent quick lapping up of so much that it results in vomiting. At some point she is satiated and usually leaves some water in her bowl. After 12 hours without vomiting Chloe is given 6 little pieces of dry kidney care cat food. If she has a little water left over we leave it, but if she is out of water we wait 10 minutes before giving her 3 teaspoons. If she does fine with the pieces of food and that amount of water we wait one hour and then give her 6 pieces again and 2 or 3 teaspoons of water to keep her from lapping too fast after the food. One hour later we again give her 8 pieces of food and 2 or 3 tablespoons of water. We repeat this the next hour, then increase to 10 pieces or so. Your cat’s tolerance might be different. When Chloe settles for the night and is asleep we quietly sneak 10 pieces of food into her bowl and leave her with 5 or so teaspoons of water. Crazy, I know, but my husband recently stayed up until 2am recently to make sure that we could do this effectively after her last vomiting episode. If Chloe is lapping her small amount of water too fast after eating her few pieces of food I remove the water for 10 minutes. Once previously I moved too quickly to giving her 3 teaspoons of water, and subsequently she lapped it too fast, and then vomited. We had to start all over again, which made her wait hours longer for her food. That is why we move so cautiously and gradually. We have the ability to do so because we are both retired. We reported our method to the vet recently and she said that our system of handling Chloe’s vomiting was fine and said that that a catâs food should be withheld for 12 hours after vomiting.RE: ProPectalin: After Chloeâs most recent episode of loose bowels with vomiting, the vet recommended more ProPectalin. My husband purchased15cc of ProPectalin from the vet at more than $20.00. Per recommendation he gave Chloe 1cc twice daily, and it helped to settle her stomach and firmed her stool. She doesn’t seem to mind the paste, but dislikes the procedure when my husband lays her down on her side on a towel, (usually with me holding her front paw down) and then uses his finger to put some across her tongue. Purchasing the 30cc from Amazon is much cheaper than buying it from the vet.To use, you dial the plunger dose adjuster back, then depress plunger to administer 1cc (or the recommended amount) of medicine. Directions indicate that you slowly depress the plunger until the medicine shows at the beginning of the tube. It should start/show paste when you reach the zero mark, so that after administering a 1cc amount (or whatever amount recommended by your vet) you end at the next cc marking (in our case the marking would be 1cc after the 1st dose administered). Otherwise you are shortened some amount of medicine. The paste of our 30cc medicine from Amazon did not show until 5cc, therefore we assume that it was not totally filled and we were not provided with the total amount purchased. That meant that we were shorted 5 doses of medicine. However, even given that problem, this purchase from Amazon is still less than the cost of what would have been purchased from the vet. After Chloe had a couple of small bowel problems and we had started her on ProPectalin, she went 12 days without a problem. We know that due to her condition, episodes of diarrhea and vomiting will increase. However, at present Vetoquinal ProPectalin has been helping her significantly, so we are pleased.10/27/18 Just got our 2nd air bubble in this product which meant another mysterious loss of a dosage.12/03/18 We’ve now ordered and received 5 of these since larger (30 cc) tubes since November because our cat is in kidney failure, and her resulting sensitive stomach and bowel problems require her to receive this twice daily. It is effective for her. If you cat is having loose bowels, this can be very effective, although it might take at least two doses, both given the same day, before any improvement is seen.My last Amazon orders added 2 more of this paste as I had done an extended order, was close to not receiving it in time, so did a 2 day order. Of course they arrived together! One of them was missing the cap, and as it was not in the box, that meant that it had been packed for shipping that way. Also, it was already on 2 cc, so again, the mysterious missing dose. The tube was primed though (with the paste close to the end of the tube). This is a good product through, and as the price is reasonable, I will continue to buy it through Amazon, although I might choose a different vendor when I need to purchase it again. To administer this to Chloe, my husband lays her on a towel on a bed. He already has the dose squeezed onto a paper plate and has two damp paper towels there as well for use in wiping her face afterwards if needed. I usually stand on the side so that I can hold down her bent paw which reflexively extends when my husband rubs the dose across Chloe’s tongue. He then wipes off any remaining stuff from his finger, and scoops that up along with any balance on the plate, and “re-administers” it to Chloe. She sometimes tries to sneak off to avoid the process, and occasionally gives a pitiful little cry, but doesn’t really resist much. All things considered, she seeming accepts the procedure fairly well–better than I would I’m sure!!!Chloe has been losing weight, but seems to feel O.K. after she has recuperating from each of her episodes. Initially she went about 12 days (once) between episodes of vomiting and loose bowels, then 7 days for several weeks, then 5 days for several weeks, then 3 days once, and then, miraculously went 11 days without either vomiting or having loose bowels. We were happy until her current episode, which lasted 3 days instead of the usual one day. Right now she is back on small amounts of food every 45 minutes to an hour while her stomach adjusts to a return to having some food available at all times. Yes-we started with one teaspoon of water, waited an hour, then repeated, gradually increasing amount of water, and after a 10 hour period of this, adding small amounts of food also every hour, gradually increasing the food amount also. Considering her limited kidney function, Chloe seems to be doing relatively well. We hope to enjoy her presence at least through Christmas. Once my husband stayed up until 4am because she threw up at night, and he wanted to continue to give her small, but increasing amount of water through most of the night. Then I arose at 6am to continue the process. The things that we do for the pets that we love !!!! : – )12/23/18 Received our most recent tube then. After priming it we noted that it is missing approximately 3 1/2 to 4 doses. However, as it helps to control our cat’s bowel problems while she is in kidney failure, it is definitely worth it for us. Chloe receives a dose mid morning and another dose at night, with a slightly lesser amount applies to the back of her tongue when her stool borders on hard, and a greater amount when her stool verges on too soft (patty in the litter box). Chloe has lost weight and is more subdued, but overall is doing O.K. She seems happy and fairly contented on her good days and has now made it to Christmas. Yeah!. The ProPectalin works well for her. We’re sure that she would not have made it this long without it, so I highly recommend the product. Also, the quick and reliable delivery of ProPectalin is appreciated.01/23/19 Our most recent purchase of ProPectalin had a totally filled tube (which is as it should be). Chloe is still here thanks to loving care and the ProPectalin. We give her somewhat of a larger dose when her stool is too soft and somewhat of a smaller dose when she is verging on constipation. She just went 25 days between episodes of bowel problem followed by violent vomiting, and that length of time is amazing! This could not have occurred without the use of antidiarrheal gel such as ProPectalin.03/17/19 Update: We received a faulty tube, it having arrived without the plunger back, therefore with missing and dried contents. Amazon replaced it. Many thanks to them for the quick response/service, and for the continued availability of this great product. Our subsequent 2 orders arrived in good condition–totally filled. This great product has exceeded our expectations. It has helped to enable some type of quality of an end-life for our cat (Chloe) who has kidney failure. She’d had a bad week recently with significant vomiting episodes every other day for 6 days. We thought then that she was near the absolute end, but she then happily went on a 12 day span of no problems–almost like her old self! Amazing! We could never have made it this far without the Pro-Pectalin to help with her sensitive stomach and to firm up her bowels (which otherwise would have resulted in diarrhea). It has given us more days of seeing Chloe’s white face and “pink” ears peeking outside from her spot by the window, and chasing her out of the bath tub–where she loves to beg for water—even though it’s only given to her from her fountain in the kitchen! : )

Great for upset stomach
Works very well for an upset stomach. Smells a little intimidating but mixed with food well.

Works Amazing!
I always have this on hand for my dog. It works great, and if her system gets a little out of whack, I gave her a little list on the top of her mouth and she is good to go. Amazing stuff!!

Conflicting opinions
On the positive side, it did work well for my cat. On the negative side, he really didn’t like the taste. I mixed it with a lickable treat in a little dish and that helped a little. However, he figured out a way to lick up the treat and then somehow separate the paste from the treat. When he finished the treat, there were little bits of paste stuck to the sides of the dish. Smart cat. I’m smarter. I gave him more than the 1 ml recommended dose by about 50%. That way, most of it got into him. He was much better by day 3.

Vet approved and cheaper than their similar product.
Cathy Caterina –
I use this at first sign of any loose stool and it has definitely helped. Keep in mind if it doesn’t take your pup to the vet.
