Amazing. Saved my dog from diarrhea and gas!
Amazing. We rescued a dog in April 27th. He had diarrhea and gas, which is normal, for the first 9 days.We took him to the vet, got a broad spectrum antibiotic and some medicine to soothe his stomach. Diarrhea and gas continued.Every single poop of every day. We changed dog food brands to the one he was on with his foster family, assuming he might have a problem with one of the ingredients. None of these are cheap brands. Diarrhea and gas continued.Desperate, I began searching for some enzymes that were safe for dogs. I found there were several probiotics marketed for dogs. I researched the top few choices. He started this product on the evening of 6/5/2019. On 6/6/2019, he had moderately solid poop. On 6/7/2019, he pooped twice more, both pretty solid and we noticed he wasn’t farting much. Instead of 20+ times, it was about 2 per day. By 6/9/2019, his poop was like our other two dogs. This was the only change in his diet or environment. The problem had existed for over 30 days straight, every single poop. Every one. We walk him twice a day, we see each poop.Within 24 hours of starting this, his symptoms were dramatically improved. In 72 hours, they were gone. Why does it work? The probiotics are digesting whichever parts of the food he couldn’t handle. I’m lactose intolerant and rely on a probiotic to digest lactose. This is the same thing. If your dog is having diarrhea and gas, he probably has an intolerance. You can pay several hundred for a test that is less than perfectly accurate and then try to find an appropriate food, or just give him this powder. Since this breaks down the molecules he can’t digest, it ends the issue. One reason we picked this product was the abundance of different probiotics. It targets a huge array of potential problems in dog food. We still don’t know which ingredient he couldn’t have before, but he can have it now. The second reason we picked this product was the reviews mentioning the level of customer service. This is how a small company should handle things. See some of the most helpful reviews for the steps the company took to ensure they satisfied each customer. This product deserves more than 5 stars. I will be purchasing it again each time we get low. The serving spoon is very small, it didn’t take much powder and the dog didn’t mind. The one container seems like it will last around 3 to 5 months. 58 pound dog, pretty active. When measuring that as a monthly cost, this is a very affordable solution that solved our dog’s issue 100%.Note: Purina is a hell no, since they can feed euthanized pets as an ingredient (Google it, seriously, I didn’t believe at first). This product is vastly cheaper (similar price but this will last several times longer) and you’ll be supporting a better company. The Purina product is pushed by vets because many vets sell it, hardly an unbiased view.UPDATE 11/2/2019: We attempted to switch to another food, thinking he could handle it with his probiotic. He could not. The gas gradually returned. We tried a few different foods with no success. He is now eating the food he did best with, but is back to massive farting. I am planning to take him into the vet. Unless the product changed, it would appear he needs a two part solution. There is something else to fix, but the probiotic appears to be a necessary part of the solution.

Worth trying for dogs with tummy troubles!
Last year I decided to try probiotics for my dog because she has a very sensitive digestive system. She had parvo as a puppy, survived it but was left with bouts of diarrhea every few months, with nothing obvious causing the issues. Which also meant a vet visit every two to three months and typically solved with antibiotics. After another long night of upset stomach with my dog, I was at my wits end. How was it possible that with no change in diet or treats, she would have issues this often and this severe? I did not want to continuously be giving her antibiotics every few months. I read about probiotics for dogs, I decided to try it. It may not help but it certainly couldn’t hurt.Without much research, I purchased FortiFlora, but when I attempted to give it to my dog with her food, she wouldn’t go near it because of the smell. It smelled like Top Ramen Chicken Flavor seasoning packet. Very artificial and seemed like potentially a bad idea considering my dog is fairly sensitive to changes in her diet. I read the ingredients and discovered the first ingredient is Animal Digest. YUCK. Then along with a bunch of other ingredients I was not familiar and didn’t seem “natural”. No thank you. Not for my dog.I then researched more…and found PetUltimates. It was everything I wanted in a probiotic. Much more natural, without any flavors or additives. I was amazed with the change in her digestive system. She has been on this probiotic for over 7 months. Not one incident of diarrhea and has a better appetite than before. No issues with any smells or tastes, she gobbles up her dinner in minutes. The powder is very sensitive to any moisture. I suggest (like other reviewers) to keep the spoon outside of the jar. Or better yet, get a small container, put some in there and keep the larger container away until you need to refill smaller container. I like the mini Gladware, the baby food size. The customer service for PetUltimates is fantastic. It is refreshing to find a company that really cares about their customers and are incredibly helpful! These days with so many choices as a consumer, I choose to give my business to companies that go the extra mile to ensure my satisfaction.I suggest if your dog has GI issues, this is worth a try. It worked wonders for my beloved little dog and I hope it can do the same for yours. The results were so amazing, my husband started taking probiotics for humans! We now have a much happier household! ha ha!

Good Quality – Just Missing L. Paracasei
I like this product. It has a lot if good stains, including one that’s supposed to help with anal gland issues. My dog likes it, it isn’t clumpy, it’s shelf stable, and there’s a convenient measure included. Unfortunately, the L. Paracasei strain isn’t in this formula. I bought this when I was replacing an old probiotic that had been discontinued. After some experimentation, I figured out that the L. Paracasei is the âmagic bulletâ for my dogâs health. He is squirrelly until he gets it. I hope they are able to include it in this product in the future. That way I could just use this one product. I may continue to give it at half doses in the evening so that my dog gets the benefits of the diverse strains in this product without causing digestive upset involved in taking more than one probiotic source. Otherwise, the product is high quality, and the fact that it is made in that USA is a big motivator to buy from them. Because of the missing L. Paracasei, it is a four star item for me.

Update: Everything is still going fine with our dog, but unfortunately the product is no longer available here and the Petultimates website won’t ship to Canada. We are running low and fear our dog will return to her old ways because the seller stoped proving this and can’t give a date when or if it will be available again. I wish I knew of somewhere else to get this stuff from. I guess we will just have to try something local and hope the problems don’t come back.We have been dealing with diarrhea with our dog on and off for years. She has also been on and off antibiotics for a long time too and the vet suggested a probiotic. They carried the Purina brand in the black box. It’s hard to say for sure that this stuff made it worse, but it certainly didnt help. Perhaps we didnt give it enough time, but a couple days was all we could handle. We assumed probiotics didnt work for her but after a few more months of the poor dog having issues every week or two we thought maybe we should try a different brand and found this stuff. It made an almost immediate difference. Her habits outside including the frequency and look of what she “deposits” out there are so much better. She used to go 3-5 times per day, even when what was coming out seemed fine and solid. Now it is 1, maybe 2 times per day and there really isn’t any pacing or straining anymore. It has been almost 5 weeks with no issues at all. Hopefully this is the missing puzzle piece that keeps her happy, and in turn me happy.Anyone having similar issues I would strongly suggest this probiotic, and if it doesnt work, perhaps try another. I wish we would have tried this after the Purina brand and not waited so long.

Iâve been putting this on my dogâs food daily and she eats her food as per usual, so she must not mind the flavour. However, it has not made any difference in her paw licking – she still licks her paws a lot.
