We’re still in the very early days of the Switch 2, which means there hasn’t been enough time to see if there are widespread hardware issues to worry about. So far things seem to be going well, but there have been a few people sharing some worries about their Switch 2 Joy-Con 2. Thankfully, a fix is incredibly easy and everyone should already have the solution at hand.
Some Switch 2 owners have found their Joy-Con 2 constantly disconnecting from the system. This would no doubt cause concern for any Switch 2 owners, and cause fears to arise about something being seriously wrong with the hardware itself. The good news is that there’s a very quick fix, and all it takes is just one HDMI cable.
The Switch 2 comes with its own HDMI cable, and it’s a 2.1 version. This cable is capable of ultra high-speeds, but other earlier cables are not. That very much includes the HDMI cable that came with the original Switch, so if you’re using that one and haven’t switched it out with the Switch 2 HDMI cable, you could be running into multiple issues, including disconnecting Joy-Con 2.
Once you swap out your old HDMI cable for the one that came with Switch 2, your Joy-Con 2 disconnect worries should vanish. If you’ve been suffering from this issue, hopefully the quick cable fix sets things straight.
