Hi everyone, I’m Emiliano Cuadrado, a Spanish photographer with a deep passion for street photography.
Photography has always been part of my life, but it wasn’t until 2019 that I truly discovered street photography, and since then, I haven’t stopped shooting!
Since 2019, I’ve gone through several cameras, mainly Fujifilm. I started with the Fujifilm X100T, then moved on to the Fujifilm X-T3, the Fujifilm X-Pro 1, and the Fujifilm X100V.
After selling the Fujifilm X100V, I found an excellent opportunity to buy a Leica M10. I used it for a year and sold it to finally get my hands on the Leica Q3.
When I head out to shoot, I try to keep things as light as possible; usually just one camera and a small bag that fits a water bottle and a couple of batteries.
Leica Q3 – This is my primary camera, which I carry almost everywhere. It’s a powerful yet compact and portable camera.
It never feels heavy, even after walking for hours. The fixed 28mm lens pushes me to get closer to the scene and see things differently.
I’ve always felt more comfortable with a 35mm, but this challenge has helped me grow.
For street photography, it’s just perfect!
Fujifilm X-T3 – This has always been my backup camera, but sometimes I turn to it when I feel like changing things. I use it when I want to shoot with different focal lengths, like the 23mm (35mm equivalent) or the 35mm (50mm equivalent), especially when I don’t feel confident enough to get too close.
Fujifilm X-Pro 1 – I rarely use this one now, but it’s still one of my favorite cameras to shoot with. I reach for it when I want to slow down and focus on something other than pure street photography. It’s a camera with soul.
Voigtländer Nokton 23mm f/1.2 – My favorite lens to use with the Fujifilm system. It’s manual and sharp, perfect for the street.
Fujinon 27mm f/2.8 WR – The perfect pancake for staying discreet. I use it when I want to keep things lightweight and minimal.
Fujinon 35mm f/2 WR – I use this one occasionally, usually when I feel like shooting from a bit more distance.
Mac Mini M2 Pro + Capture One Pro – All my editing happens in Capture One Pro. The Mac Mini M2 Pro handles everything smoothly. I’m pleased with this setup.
Ulanzi UBP-06 Bag– Small and comfortable. It fits just what I need and nothing more, and it is perfect for street sessions.
AirPods Pro 2 – I never leave home without them. Listening to music while shooting is part of my creative flow. It helps me get into the zone, where everything clicks.
During my brief journey into street photography, I’ve learned that always carrying your camera with you is essential.
Try to go out and shoot as often as possible, even when you’re not feeling inspired. Sometimes, the street will surprise you in unexpected ways.
Lastly, study the work of the masters and look at lots of photographs.
Good luck with your journey!
