Nintendo has revised its user agreements to include a much stronger stance against hacking and unauthorized modifications. According to Stephen Totilo for Game File, the updated terms now explicitly warn that anyone who attempts to “bypass, modify, decrypt, defeat, [or] tamper with” the Nintendo Account Services may have their device or services permanently disabled. This marks a notable shift from previous language and reflects Nintendo’s continuous efforts to combat piracy and unauthorized use of its hardware and software. The new terms also mention that Nintendo may monitor online chats and reserve the right to discontinue their services.
