This level of demand isn’t entirely surprising. The RTX 5080, positioned as Nvidia’s new high-end option just below the RTX 5090, offers a significant performance leap over the previous generation, making it a hot commodity for gamers and content creators alike. With the Founders Edition model priced at Nvidia’s MSRP, it was always expected to sell out quickly—but a complete site crash suggests demand may have outstripped even Nvidia’s expectations.
We reviewed the RTX 5080 and found it to be quite good; we hope that the website can resume normal activity so we can get our hands on an FE card. It appears to be more than just the 5080 page; it appears to be all the GPU pages, as all of the GPUs are concatenated into one page.
Scalpers have already begun listing the RTX 5080 on third-party marketplaces at inflated prices, further adding to the chaos. Meanwhile, hopeful buyers are stuck refreshing Nvidia’s site to secure a unit once the servers stabilize.
For those who missed out, there’s still a chance to grab an RTX 5080 through partner cards from brands like ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte. However, early listings suggest these models may be priced significantly higher than Nvidia’s official MSRP.
With this high demand, the RTX 5080 and 5090 is shaping up to be some of the most sought-after GPUs in recent history. Now, the real question is—when will Nvidia’s site recover?
