How to use :
1. Open the lower cap of the Timain water filter straws and put it into the water about 3cms .
2. Remove the upper top of the emergency water filters . Firstly, in order to expel the air inside the straw,Please inhale gently . And it is normal if you fail to drink water for the first few sips . Keep trying to inhale gently (if you absorb the water forcefully , it will be difficult to get the water) until you can drink the water successfully,Then please sip.
3. After each use, please blow the remaining water inside the straw out as much as possible, which is much more convenient for use next time.
Attention:portable water filtration system should not be used or stored at an ambient temperature below 0 degrees Celsius which will lead to freezing inside the pipes .That will damage the ultrafiltration membrane group and make it to lose its filtering function.

It sucks clean water.
Havenât tried in an emergency just yet. Although I did add some cranberry juice, salt, pepper to cold water. Used the emergency straw, and did NOT taste the added ingredients. Used a 20oz glass of water. So, yes, Iâd say they work. Water tastes like normal water. ð

I am a bit skeptical…
OK, I am no expert on survival straws but when a company states that their straw filters “99.999% of tiny matters from raw water” it just doesn’t instill confidence. They also their product a Mimi Water Filter Straw – I am sure they mean ‘Mini’ but come on, if you are selling something, know your product. So I did a little research online and compared this straw to a Lifestyle. This straw claims to filter impurities down to one tenth micron – Lifestraw two tenth micron. They both claim to filter up to 1,000 gallons of water. Lifestraw is more expensive even thigh they are on sale right now. This straw will break a window… why I don’t know but Lifestraw can probably not. I guess it would help break ice on a frozen pond. Although it makes a good self defense item. The Lifestraw is bigger. This one is the size of a good size cigar.Another thing, this straw will only filter what they call clean water. That means you would be better off to run your pond water through a clean shirt or towel first to remove the big stuff. Nothing like that from Lifestraw. So I gave this straw four stars just in case it really works because it is inexpensive and very lightweight. It is perfect to put in your go bags, keep in your glove box, or have on hand for emergencies.Did I use it? Yes. I filtered tap water through the straw five or six times. It was kind of difficult to suck the water through but doable. The taste? Tap water.Neither straw handles viruses but do filter bacteria. Who knows? It might save your life.

compact, not easy to use
This may just be my experience with the filters but I find drawing water through them slightly difficult which I’m sure is because of the filter media. The design is straightforward with no gimmicky shapes or moldings so that’s nice and having a cap for the drinking end is a must for me, I could do without the glass breaker though. What I dislike though is how much suction you need to create to pull water through the straw, as an adult it wasn’t impossible but it was definitely hard and slow going I can’t imagine a small child accomplishing this so if you were looking at these for family emergencies I would suggest looking at hand pump style filters. The instructions also suggested blowing though the straw to clear it after use but this too seemed an impossible task, I wasn’t able to get much to blow out of the opposite end.

Kept me safe over a week on trout fishing trip.
I recently went to Colorado on a backpacking/trout fishing trip. I used this to drink clear river water and never ran out of drinking water over five days hiking. It was very convenient being able to scoop up clear mountain stream water and drink it with the filter straw with no worries. One of the couples on the trip got tired of boiling their water and ended up with dahabeah. These were inexpensive and will go with me on every hiking trip in the future. Great product!

One in every daypack and one in the glovebox
We hike daily in areas with good clean running water but donât always think to carry water. These will provide what we need if we get stuck out longer than expected. The recent floods in the southeast are a bit of a wakeup call about preparation. My brother is currently stuck in his apartment near Asheville without a supply of water. We live by a lake, so we can carry water to flush the toilets and wash dishes if the power is out, but might not always have the forethought to fill a tub for drinking water. I know I could use other methods like boiling water, using a tabletop filter pitch or using a disinfectant, but one more method gives us choices.
