It’s just OK, but would be better if there wasn’t a big flaw
I like that there are silicone sleeves getting put on the market for DJI and other manufacturers gear, even if it isn’t the mfgr making these critical sleeves for their pricey gear. This slips on like a tight glove and allows you to hold you gimbal with a firm grip while dialing in your shot. There is, however, one tiny missing hole that throws off the proper storage of the gimbal when not in use and to me it is critical that that hole be there. Pictured is the locking pin that, when you fold down the gimbal arms works as a registration pin to hold the arm in place to prevent stresses on the joints and the motor when not in use. It is also on the Osmo 4 and it prevents that free rotation from happening that can shorten the life of already weak motors. The arm doesn’t set right on the sleeve without the hole. Cutting a hole after the fact, when it isn’t cut at the time of manufacturing, can leave an imperfectly cut hole to rip open wider over time and ruin the upper cuff of the opening around the main panning motor. I don’t know how it was overlooked since it isn’t a new addition to these gimbals. That makes the sleeve just okay, much better if you aren’t traveling and packing it around folded up, worse if you are traveling since unlike the larger gimbals that you unlock the arm pins before using to prevent their free articulation at the joints- this allows too much movement that is restricted by other pressure points on critical joints and motors that can cause damage over time. Personally, I wouldn’t want to buy this if I am traveling around with the gimbal since you know how pricey they are and what your budget is like for gear when you have other priorities. Unless you are willing to try to carefully cut out a notch and still keep the structural integrity of the sleeve where it won’t be flapping around as it ages, I would see if there is a better alternative.The only real protection I seem to see with this is it the fact that the handle is covered and therefore a short drop should protect it and impact with other hard objects should keep the surface from getting marked up. While it completely covers two buttons and has 4 control cut-outs; both control knobs, the trigger on the front and a button for the PTZ planes; I don’t see there being a whole lot of protection it can provide for the joystick and side column because they stick out of the protective safety and are exposed to external forces that can do damage over time.
