Dile The dosage disk all the way down first!
Well first it’s wonderful but if you’re not a video watcher like me and don’t have a tendency to read directions carefully take notice. I’ve used other similar products before but new to this one and I didn’t know the dial the measurement all the way down to get the right dosage. Well make sure that you do that! Love this brand though. I will definitely keep buying it.

Great product, smell not so good
Smells terrible but it did the job after just one dose.

Seems to work if cat will eat it.
I wanted this for my cat to see if I can get his poop less mushy and smelly. I’ve been giving it to him for a week and we were making great progress. He seemed to like the taste and the litter box was getting much more tolerable to deal with. The measurements on the tube make it easy to dose accurately. Plus not having to go to the vet is always a win. Unfortunately it now seems like he is getting over the taste of it, which is fair because I know I’m over the smell every time I open it. Initially he seemed to actually enjoy eating it, but as with everything else I suppose he’s getting sick of it and it’s becoming a struggle to try to hide it in food. So I’m going to give it a break for a few days and see how everything is going and hopefully I won’t have to give it to him anymore. I do think it works though, I don’t regret trying it. It’s a shame my cat is so picky, but at least I can breath again.

Not effective on my pup’s diarreah
Didn’t work as effectively as the more expensive ProPectalin.

Dogs like the taste, formula is generally effective for loose stool/mild diarrhea
Three out of three dogs present at the time of this review sampled a tiny bit of this paste and found it satisfactory in taste. I thought the smell was a little more prominent (meaty) than other brands that I’ve tried, but I’m not the consumer, so if the dogs don’t care, what the heck. This type of paste is great to have on hand for the occasional digestive upset, and it’s a bit more palatable than the liquid kaolin. I have a lot of dogs boarding, and often they have a little digestive upset so I always try to have this paste available. This Jollyfit brand is less expensive than many of the others, but the formula and ingredients are very similar, as well as the quantity (1 ounce) in the syringe. This has a single probiotic – Enterococcus Faecium – which is the primary one that tother brands have as well, although sometimes they also have a variety of strains. I give my dogs a probiotic powder regularly, so I’m not really worried about that in an anti-diarrheal. The tube has a gauge to dispense just the amount needed, so it’s easy to squirt into a bowl, and generally dogs will just lick it right up, but you can also mix it in their food. This product does not need refrigeration, just store in a cool, dry place. It also had the “expiration” date printed on both the tube and the outer packaging, which shows a shelf life of two years, which is nice to know and also something that lasts a little longer than some other products. The kaolin products seem to work well for occasional diarrhea, but anything that is severe or persistent should be treated by a vet.

    Off-brand value
I always keep this type of antidiarrhea paste handy for whenever my cat or dog goes through a bout of diarrhea, which happens at least a couple times a year. The ingredients are almost identical to similar products on the market, but this one from Jollyfit is not only cheaper for under 15 bucks but double the size (others are usually 15cc, while this one is 30cc). For my 10-pound cat, one tube will last 30 doses or 15 days if given only twice a day. For my 27-pound dog it gets used quicker — 10 doses or 5 days. Depending on the severity, both are usually somewhat back to normal by the second dose, or at least it’s no longer “soupy poop,” as I call it.What’s great about this paste is the plunger-tube mechanism. You dial the ring to the amount of cc you want to expel, which minimizes contamination (I use a clean scraper as opposed to having my dog lick directly from it) and air coming into contact with it, and should last longer than, say, a squeeze bottle. My cat won’t take the paste as is, but my dog will with some coaxing on my part (it has powdered sugar in it, so maybe that’s why). I found the best way to get the paste into the cat is, I squeeze out what I need onto my index finger (it’s tacky, not goopy, so it stays on my finger as I get my cat into position), and with him comfortably lying down in front of me, with his back to me, I glide the paste between the seams of his mouth from the side.

It worked on some of the cats
One of my cats has IBS and it’s almost impossible to control. He has diarrhea most of the time, and when it’s not liquid, it’s mushy and the smell will definitely clear a room. I figured I’d give this paste a go, since I’ve tried everything in the past. I had a hard time giving it to him because I’m guessing he didn’t like the smell or the taste. I tried camouflaging it in his food and I was able to do so only a couple times and at half the recommended dose because he’s suspicious and refused to take it. He’ll take a couple licks of his food and then stare at me. I didn’t like the smell either, so I don’t blame him.I also tried this paste with some of the outdoor cats so I put it in their wet food. Some of them ate it, some didn’t, and it seemed to work for a couple of them. It’s easy to use and it’s easy to store the tube. I’ll have to say in terms of effectiveness, it worked half the time on half the cats. In terms of value for the money, price is definitely a plus here, as I’ve gotten similar items from the vet before at double the price with the same ingredients.Overall I’d try this again.
