✽[NOTES] Please note that if you want to use this device to connect to Apple Home, you will need to purchase Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Hub separately. The Aqara Cube T1 Pro uses Zigbee 3.0, which has better stability, compatibility and more features. The Cube T1 Pro supports Homekit, Alexa and IFTTT(Only Scene Mode is supported). In addition to that, the Cube T1 Pro now supports OTA updates, which means that new features and fixes can be added after the release of the product, including Matter support.
[6-Sided Scene Mode] Now we have clear, dice-like, indicators for each side and you are able to use each of them to control different scenes or devices, without memorizing actions. Apart from that, try rotating, shaking, holding or triggering after one-minute inactivity are still an alternative to create more possibilities even when it is in Scene Mode.
[Support HomeKit and Popular Ecosystems] Thanks to the new Scene Mode, now the Cube T1 Pro is able to be used as a controller in Apple HomeKit and will support Matter* after the standard is officially released. Apart from that, it also supports Alexa, IFTTT and other ecosystems*.Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub is required.
[Diversity Actions to Control Your Home] You can switch the Cube T1 Pro to the Action Mode as the classic one. Push, shake, rotate, tap twice, flip 180°, flip 90° and trigger after one-minute inactivity, enjoy more fun while retaining other benefits. *Action Mode and Scene Mode can not be used simultaneously.
[Up to 2-Year Battery Life] Apart from being environmentally friendly, the ultra-low energy consumption will let you forget about changing the batteries for up to 2 years.

I Bought That? –
Small yet powerful
Great gadget. Using it with Alexa to fire off routines.Easy to setup. App is easy to use.Not all of the functionality is available unless you are deep into the Aqara ecosystem. I am not so I can only use half of the functionality.Requires a Aqara hub.Reasonably priced for all of the things it can do.

Impressive and Fun but Requires Some Effort to Set Up
I love this product! I have been using this for last four months. While I couldnât use its full functionality since I connected it through HomeAssistant and I had to purchase the Aqara hub separately, this little gadget is so impressive that I still had to give it 5 stars. Every time guests see it for the first time, they are just so amazed. However, if youâre new to home automation, it might not be the easiest to set up. It took me some time to figure things out and I am new to HomeAssistant.Speed to turn on and off: 4/5Battery Life: 5/5Accuracy: 3/5Ease of Installation: 2/5Once everything is set up, the combination of its price, functionality, and the âwowâ factor it brings to guests makes it a solid 5/5. Highly recommend it for smart home enthusiasts!

So cool, but what do I do with it?
I really like it, it works great. And you can add it to Home Assistant via the Zigbee2MQTT integration so you can control non-Aqara devices and automations with it. But it’s awkward. No lights or anything tactile so you can’t see/feel what side you’re turning to. You have to pick it up, look at it, roll it to the preferred side up, then put it down. Makes it hard to use it to turn your light on if you’re in the dark and can’t see which side to face up. LOL. I find the Aqara button MUCH easier to use. I love them.

At first, great cubes.
First, I wish they had grey and black. The white gets dirty too quickly, well, looks dirty. Actually, it would be great if they made many colors (red, yellow, pink, brown, black, grey, bright white, green, orange, lavender, etc.).Second, once you move them around enough, they start getting disconnected and stop responding. I’ve replaced the battery, reset them, and they are within ten feet of the Zigbee coordinator. I am using Home Assistant with Zigbee2MQTT. It appears as if the battery is not staying connected. Sometimes when I reset the battery, it works for a bit then stops working. I do not know if it is the battery not being secured or if it is a connection issue. This only happens on one cube. The other cube works fine. I just have two. I really like these things and would buy more. I hope for more color choices, better security of battery, and more stable connectivity.UPDATE 2023-05-24: Aqara immediately contacted me. They were very responsive with constant replies. I appreciate this. Eventually they offered a refund, and I declined it. I will keep the two cubes as they are. As far as the Aqara door sensors and buttons are concerned, they are awesome, and have not had an issue with them at all. I like the door sensors and buttons better than other competitors. I said to them, instead of refund, how about future Cube Pro 3 with assorted color choices. I would definitely buy those. Aqara customer service is high bar. I increased my score from two stars to five stars just for the customer service I received.

Really fun and multi-functional, but it may not last too long
I really got this cube just as a toy to play around with. I am using Home Assistant using ZHA and a SkyConnect for the zigbee connection and it worked great for a while, picking up the shake, rotate (per size), and tap. The only thing I had a problem with is that the tap required quite a bit of force to register, which made it not so fun. No one wants to slam the product down on a face (twice) to initiate a command and it is really hard to make it happen in your hand/lap. But I mostly only use it for a shake to turn on a porch light.I purchased the Cube T1 Pro 8 months ago but the last few months it has lost connection to my zigbee stick and I constantly have to pull the battery to reset it (which is no small feat, the cover is not easy to pop off… which is normally a good thing). The “Link” button will work no problem (event appears in HA), but any shake/tap/rotate/motion to initiate a trigger will do nothing until I pull the battery to reset it. I am not sure if it is just a defect in this device itself or if it is an overall issue of longevity with the device but this is my experience. My kid absolutely loves using it and I wish it would work all the time instead of needing me to fix it every few days.

if you’re a smart home fan you’ll likely enjoy seeing what you can do with it.
Fun, unusual control system. I’m still figuring out if it has a place alongside serious conventional switches or if it’s more of a novelty, but if you’re a smart home fan you’ll likely enjoy seeing what you can do with it.

used piece of crap
I ordered and paid for new, I got used. No pretense of newness was attempted. It arrived in a plastic (bag-ish thing) with some unrelated generic ‘do not eat’ spanish printed on it.No box, no instructions, not even an evil qr code. The notch to open the battery cover has nasty marks from abuse. It got someone elses nasty germs and dirt on it.Obviously someone else had it before I did and got rid of it, that makes 2 unhappy campers…By the time I get it returned I’m gonna be permanently out an additional 1/2 of the purchase price.Total junk IMneverHO

I use it for muting & unmuting the TV and it works great!
I had this for a while before I found an actual good use case. We like to mute the tv during commercials, and rather than grabbing the remote and finding the mute button, we just simply flip the cube to any side to mute & unmute the TV. I don’t have specific sides programmed, just if a side changes.I’m using:- Home Assistant- zigbee2mqtt for connectivity to this cube- One automation watching for a “side” state change- Sony Bravia TV with the related integration so HA can mute & unmute itI also added some soft pads on every side so when we flip it there is minimal noise when it lands on the table.

Even when this does work, not very often, it’s slow as hell. It’s certainly not precise enough to use for anything decent. The aqara app is just as bad. It’s supposed to have two different modes, but trying to get the cube to swap modes is a complete nightmare. Neither of the modes work well enough to be worth thr hassle.Do yourself a favour and use NFC tags instead. It’s cheapet, they work perfectly, and you don’t need to worry about the batteries running out 🙂
