Excellent mat for home use
Having shifted my Pilates classes from studio to home via zoom, I realized that my old cheap big box mat wasnât what I needed. On the recommendation of my teacher I purchased this mat. What a good choice. It is sturdy, lies flat, and gives good traction without being sticky on hands and feet. I like the 5/8â thickness as I am an older person who doesnât like working on hard surfaces. If you are looking for a mat you will use often, this would be a good option for the money.

Pay a little more and get the quality you need
I did a bit of research on Pilates mats , and it seems most of the mats sold are intended for yoga and not Pilates. I also read a lot of reviews that said that the mats had a foul odor. I am happy to report the mat that just arrived has barely any discernible odor, just slightly plastic. It is of great quality is slightly thicker than most mats (most are 1/8 to 1/2 inch). It is very comfortable to work out on and I am very happy with the quality.

The Right Mat Makes a Good Difference
I love my new mat! Itâs not too soft, as my thick mat is, and not too thin and hard, as my thin mat is. Itâs been perfect for all my Pilates mat work. I use it on top of a rug, not on a bare floor. This will hopefully tide me over till I can get a raised mat with handles.

I love this thick exercise mat.
We got the 5/8 in thick version of this mat and it is so thick and soft I can work out on my wood floor without pain to my bony knees and elbows. I love this mat. I probably don’t need it quite as long as it came however I suppose a little longer than needed doesn’t hurt anything. I love it!

Very comfortable
A lot of mats have issues with laying flat after they’ve been rolled up for a while. This one seems to consistently lay flat, and it is very well cushioned and supportive. It also doesn’t have an unpleasant odor, the way a lot of new ones do. It perfectly fits the length of your body, and it’s nice to lay on even when you’re not working out. I even like to just lay on the floor on it and read! It is good for floor exercises and stretching, though maybe a little bit too cushioned for balance type exercises, like yoga, or doing pushups. Overall, I am happy with it, and it’s much better than doing everything on a hard floor.

Great thickness, no nasty smell
This is a replacement for my Gaiam yoga mat that smelled awful. My daughter teaches Pilates and highly recommended this mat. So glad I bought it. It is worth the money. Nice and thick.
