Cool tool to learn about your dogs health
This was such a cool tool to learn about my dogs health. It contained everything i needed to make poop collection easy and clean. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Iâm very excited to see the results!

Quick shipping and excellent customer service.
We ordered this test kit for our 6 year old lab who has seasonal allergies that lead to ear infections, paw chewing, and scratching. Our dog also suffers from semi-annual 3 hour long fits of air biting and licking until she vomits, and our previous vet believed them to be a unique form of seizure. Our new vet believes these fits are a symptom of a GI issue or allergy, and we were very interested to learn more. We ordered this test kit and it arrived the next day. The sample collection instructions were clear and easy to follow, and all shipping packaging was included. We found the online interface to be very user friendly, and are looking forward to learning the results to improve our dogâs quality of life. A comprehensive test at the vets office would have been much more expensive. We will update this review when the test results come back, but overall we are very pleased with this test kit for its quality, value, clear directions, and online support. UPDATE: We received our results just shy of two weeks after sending the sample off, and they were very detailed in explaining what the results meant. I found the report to be well organized sized and easy to understand, and gave us peace of mind in knowing how best to take care of our dogâs health. Very happy!

Nice kit
This kit comes with everything you need to get a sample and ship it. Paid postage included! Super easy to use and understand. The results are explained in detail with further explanation if needed. However, it either took forever, I missed the email ,or never recieved one when my results were ready. Overall I like the kit though and it was helpful to me as I suspected a grain allergy in my dog and this test concludes my suspicion that she may need a grain free diet.

Got the wrong results
So much has gone wrong in trying to get results for this test…If you have 5 dogs, and the dog you’re trying to get a sample from refuses to poo on walks and only in the backyard, so her poo is all mixed up with the rest of the other dogs’ poo, save yourself the trouble and skip this test. If you have a normal dog, then your experience will be much easier.After finally managing to collect the poo from my Pittie who has a troubled tummy, I sent in the test. I waited… and waited… and waited… started getting concerned so I went to the website to see if they got it… and it was already done! A month ago! I just didn’t get any notification that they received the sample or were processing it or that it had been completed. I searched my email, nothing… dug deeper into my spam folder, and BAM, there it was. So whitelist innovative pet labs, as their emails might be flagged as spam. However, I only had emails from creating the account and that my sample was done processing. They apparently don’t let you know when they get it or anything else through the process. I’m used to tests where they let you know what’s going on every step of the way. But hey, at least I got my results, right? …Wrong. I got results for a Digestion & Detox kit that I didn’t even order. Nothing on the Leaky Gut Test Kit I actually ordered and sent in. Also not what I wanted or needed. Digestion & Detox is not going to give me any insight into why my girl is showing signs of leaky gut. So I have completely unhelpful results.I emailed them through the website to ask what happened… it’s been about 2 weeks and I haven’t heard back. (I have them whitelisted now, and I’ve been checking my spam, just in case. I’ve been getting plenty of marketing emails from them now, just no response to my inquiry.) I just emailed them again, so we’ll see if I ever get an answer, but as of right now I wish I could give 0 stars.

So easy to use!!
The instructions and set up for this test were SO simple and easy to follow. My dog has been struggling with dry skin ever since we moved, and I canât wait to see if there are any underlying gut health issues.

Results came back in 12 days with details about how to help Winston’s specific issues
I used this test because my Goldendoodle, Winston kept licking his paws and chewing at his legs. We found out he had high Zonulin and borderline Calprotectin – so from IPLs recommendations we got him on some new supplements, after a couple of weeks the licking / chewing has gotten so much better. We will test again in a couple of months to see if the numbers are better.

Yeah… Not impressed
This “send in your pet’s stool” service sounds like a great deal at first. The expectation is that you’d get a lot of insight into your dog’s gut health, diet analysis, overall well-being and signs of any underlying health issues (as far as can be determined from a stool sample) but sadly, this is not the case. This basic gut check gets you little information, most of which you may already get through your vet (for similar money I might add). A routine stool sample lab write up has never cost me more than $150 at my local vet. I just think this service costs too much to truly be competitive. Now I will say, this is NOT a terrible service but I cannot help but feel disappointed with what I was expecting vs what I received.This company makes it very easy to collect and send the sample. You create an online account for your pet and enter the ID number from your kit, which links it to your pet. Inside the kit is a prepaid shipping label and all the materials and supplies you need to send it securely. Their service is stellar and for that I don’t have anything bad to say.Overall, a smooth experience but one that is overpriced in my opinion. This could be remedied if there was more information available to you or if the price was lower. This kit was $149.99 at the time of my ordering it. I give it a 3/5
