Prepare to make bread.
It comes with everything you need to make bread. Now there aren’t great instructions (actually they are poorly written and inaccurate) but the kitchen itself is put together well. The bread proofing baskets are that durable so don’t go dropping them or they will crack but they are great for dough resting and there’s two different styles. The hardest thing to clean will be the cloths but I just was mine in the sink and air dry. Overall it’s good for a gift but not the best quality.

Great way to get into baking
This is a great set if you’re just getting into baking. By that, I mean it works well for a beginner, and it’s important to note that. If I were rating this for myself, or any other fairly advanced cook, I’d probably give it three stars, but I got it so I could help a friend of mine get into baking. The reason I say this is for beginners is that nearly everything in this set will need to be upgraded within a year or so if you use them consistently. If you’re getting into sourdough, and want to get good at it, you’ll want to bake a batch at least 5 days per week, and this gear won’t take that kind of use for a very long time. The handles on the dough whisk and lame are just cheap and sloppy. They should be better at this price point for sure. The bowl and bench scrapers are also kind of cheaply made. The baskets are actually quite solid, but the liners and the couche aren’t great. The good news is, this is all perfect for a beginner. Oddly enough, the thin gauge metal on the bench scraper means it cuts better when the user is a bit hesitant, like a beginner is. The stiff, cheap plastic on the bowl scraper is definitely going to break before too long, but it also makes it easier to clean out a bowl when you haven’t yet learned how to do it with a floured or oiled silicone spatula. The flimsy couche won’t hold the shape of a baguette as well as a heavier one, but it is easier to flip the batons onto a paddle. And I could go on, but the point is, this is a great set for a beginner, and specifically for a beginner who actually wants to learn good technique. That’s kind of the paradox–cheap gear makes for better learning. The guy that I learned from had a pretty impressive collection of entry-level equipment that he referred to as “the training wheels”, and he explained to me why he used it to teach people. And now that I’ve learned, I see why. In any case, as I said, this is a great set for a beginner. I would like to see a bit better quality on a couple of the pieces, so maybe a star off for that, but otherwise if this is what gets you into baking, welcome to the club, and I hope you enjoy it!

Good set for beginner
I’m a beginner bread maker and I have found this set to be very helpful. The mat is perfect for my counter and I have used it each time I have made anything. I really like all the measurements on it and it is super easy to wipe clean. I love the sac that comes with this and I am using it to hold all my liners, covers, and such. The bread sling works great, I have been using it underneath the parchment paper and it makes it easy to transfer to the wire rack for cooling. Everything is well made and durable. I look forward to continuing to use them all as I continue my adventures with a sourdough starter.
