I used to be a dog groomer and people ask me to assist them with dog grooming issues fairly regularly. As I have gotten older, some of the required jobs are more difficult. A case in point is my neighbor’s Lhasa Apso who has had to be knocked out at the vet’s office to have her nails done. It costs her far too much money each time than she can afford. It is also not good for her older dog to be anesthetized. I got this sling with her little dog in mind, but also for future use with others.I slipped the Lhasa into the sling and hung her up on a clothing rack I have. She wiggled for a few seconds, but on discovering she couldn’t go anywhere, she stopped!! She just hung there! She jerked her leg a little when I trimmed her nails, but I was able to get them done! Years of struggle and this sling left her helpless and made her surrender, and it was in a harmless and stress-free way. I love this sling! If I had only known about this years ago it would have saved a lot of struggle.This came with the sling itself and the hanging equipment, a pair of decent nail trimmers and a nail file. It is a super deal! Try this!

Design is better off for dogs
I really love the idea of this Letrcxo Cat/Dog Grooming Hammock, unfortunately it didn’t work out too well for my cat. It’s really hard to measure the spacing between cats legs since they are so flexible. I measured best I could and using the guide, I went with what seemed to be the closest which is the Small. It still ended up not fitting at all. Much of the problem is that cats are just so agile. I will say the supplies they included are nice, though. Except I can’t speak for the giant metal comb that is clearly for dogs.Now for the issues. First, the holes are way too large. It gives them all the room in the world to lift themselves up and get their legs inside. From here they can push themselves out. By the second try, our cat did that with us both right there and luckily we were there to grab her before she fell. The strap also can’t tighten enough because it’s both too long and has a limited amount of velcro. The other big issue is her claws kept getting stuck in the mesh fabric. She would use this to her advantage in order to try to escape. As for where her head is supposed to stick out, it really looked like it was putting too much pressure on her neck underneath and squeezing it as well. It just didn’t look right. We used the provided straps and carabiners because it felt a lot more safe. The provided “S” hooks are disconcerting, especially just by themselves. So we connected the harness to the carabiners with the “S” hooks because it was quicker and easier to get our cat hung up instead of dealing with opening the carabiners and putting them each through the loops directly all while your holding your pet up. But when your pet is hung up, the hooks kinda hang at a precarious angle. I was afraid if she made enough jerky movements that it would have detached. If I try to use this harness again I’m definitely going to replace them with something more secure. Even if I got the XS size, I can’t imagine the difference being significant enough that it would change anything. The holes look large on all of them and the mesh would still be a problem. I just feel like the design is meant for dogs and dogs alone.

Does what it is designed for
This works as it was designed for however you won’t be able to get all pets in the sling. It did help me however for 4 out of my 6 animals. After using this a couple of times with the help of someone distracting it made the nail trim easier.

Well built harness
This harness seems better built than I was really expecting. From the perspective of longevity, I donât anticipate any issues given the limited capacity we will be using it in. We worked with our cat for a while to try and acclimate him to the idea of getting into it, but eventually itâs just something we had to put him in. We will likely just use this for trimming his nails, but Iâm happy to say that it worked exceptionally well for that. We ended up holding him with the whole family (and me with the nail trimmers) but it should hook onto something if you have a place for it. Held by hand, itâs a little difficult to maintain suitable control. We had my wife and one kid holding the harness and another feeding the cat lick treats in attempt to make the whole experience the least miserable that we could. It works and in spite of the manpower that we needed, it was still easier to do than wrapping him with a blanket into a burrito and trying to fish out his legs. He seemed not overly stressed but definitely happy to be let go when we wrapped up the process. The strap over the back is a useful and frankly necessary element of the harness as it makes an untimely and potentially dangerous escape less likely. Works for me!

Holds well
So let me start by saying I ordered the wrong size. I ordered a small when I should have ordered a xs. We have 2 kittens in the house and one really HATES getting her nails trimmed. As in we have to wrap her in a towel while doing it while she is steady telling us off and trying to bite and scratch her way loose. So we started out but putting her in first and securing the belly strap. She was able to slide out the front if I didnât hold it closed (because itâs to big of a size). However I just pinched the top shut temporarily and will probably put a safety pin in it for later uses with them. We just combed her so sheâd have a good experience in there. Then we put our slightly bigger boy in there and trimmed his claws and it held him well as long as the top was pinched shut.It comes with the nail trimmers and a file and a comb, as well as the straps and hooks to hang it.So if you buy the correct size unlike me, it should hold well

I have an older shih tzu. He has been traumatized by groomers and I have been stuck with the task. His grooming needs are extensive, and he gets aggressive. This product in conjunction with a shaving vacuum (also from amazon). Made it possible for me to groom him with relatively no frustration.. for the first time I could properly do his paw care and able to access him with clippers!!!The vacuum grooming tool was essential in the process but for anyone I think this is great & effective. I would only note.. to have a stool on standby and give your pet short intervals of hanging time. I did notice it was a bite hard for my older guy to breathe with pressure on his chest. I did shorter sessions and gave him breaks. It helped reduce stress and strain. Its would work of a good size range of smaller mid animals. My dog is 18lbs healthy weight long slender body. Fit perfectly.. got a medium

The package came with everything you need to safely secure your dog and cut their nails. The problem is my actual dog that refuses to be cooperative and barks, tries to bite me, squiggles and wiggles. It took forever but I was able to get most of them done and with minimal injury (to myself). Success!!
