The Smartphone Adapter is a great first step into the world of astroimaging or digiscoping. The universal adapter enables you to capture sharp, detailed images and video in seconds. The adapter fits any eyepiece from 29mm to 45mm in diameter including telescopes with 1.25-inch eyepieces, spotting scopes, monoculars, and binoculars. It is fully adjustable and can fit any smartphone—usually with the case still on. If multiple people want to capture a shot through your optic, the smartphone adapter’s simple clamp makes it easy to remove one device and replace it with another in seconds. The Smartphone Adapter is a great choice for star parties and group bird walks where everyone wants their own shot of the action. From start to finish, the process only takes about 30 seconds. If you switch phones, eyepieces, or optical instruments, you will need only slight adjustments to re-center the camera over the new eyepiece. You can also switch your image from portrait to landscape simply by turning the padded eyepiece clamp and realigning your phone with the eyepiece. The adapter is small and compact for easy transport.

Enhance photo taking of the stars you see.
phone hold on telescope is good. Doesn’t weigh too much for my tripod, so the balance remains good. Easy to use. Good value.

Trip to Alaska!
This smartphone adapter for the celestron binoculars was difficult to get the hang of at first, but so worth it. We took it on our trip to Alaska and it allowed us to see so much wildlife we wouldn’t otherwise have been able to see. We were able to take pictures through it, but also zoom in with our phones to see more. It was well worth it even after getting the hang of it. Don’t get too frustrated, just keep messing with it until you can get it right. The only annoying part was trying to switch between phones because you had to readjust all settings because the camera locations are different on different phones.

A Bit Clumsy, but Works Well
Sturdy and well built. The clamp screws are good quality and easy to turn and access. Can be a bit clumsy to get the smartphone centered on the eyepiece. It requires the phone to be slid up and down to center on the eyepiece, but also twisted left and right. So, this means fiddling with three screws, the phone clamp, the eyepiece clamp, and phone rotational clamp.

Screw pieces debatable
No instructions came with this item. I had to do a bit of research to see how to use it properly. It is made well EXCEPT for the screws (which is the part most used).Mine broke on the second use.Research your productsâ¦look for all metal camera supports/attachments when buying.Come on Celestron, you can do better than this.

Works but better with minor upgrade
It works pretty well but if you group this with a Leaplumin cellphone mount from right here on Amazon, you will then have a entirely metal construction. The screws that work with this phone holder part work with the Leaplumin cell phone holder so you need no additional parts.

Nearly impossible to attach to binoculars by oneself
I got this as part of a bundle with a pair of Celestron binoculars. Its nearly impossible to attach it correctly on your own, it really needs a third hand to attach (one to hold the binoculars, one to hold the phone in the exact right position, and a third to tighten the back screw). Some other negatives:- The space between the eyepiece holder and the phone mount point is to shallow. For the Celestron binoculars that it came with, attaching the eyepiece holder securely to the eyepiece, the eye cups stick out further than the phone mount bed, so the phone can’t be attached flat against the bed.- As mentioned above, it really takes 3 hands to correctly mount to binoculars. Might not be a problem with a telescope, but it was bundled with binoculars, so I expected it to work with them.- As you tighten the back screw to keep the phone in the right place, even if you’re careful tightening it causes it to tilt the phone slightly. This adjusts the phone’s view, making it not centered unless you take that into account with the phone’s position before tightening it.- The rubber mount points for both the eyepiece and phone are not soft enough. If you tighten it too much, you can break your binoculars or phone. The adapter would be 1000x better if the phone placement adjuster didn’t allow the phone to move freely, and instead worked similar to the phone bed screw, where tightening/loosening it would adjust its position.

Could use improvements in manufacturing and ease of use.
I bought this to take pictures with a 15-70x Celestron Binocular. It was extremely difficult to get it aligned and the plastic cap/head of the screw that lets you adjust the size of the phone broke after a few times, which now renders the device useless. I would invest in something sturdier or an all metal construction.

El material es de buena calidad y se adapta bien a mis binoculares, ahora solo es cuestión de probar con el celular para tomar fotografÃas.

Fits perfect, lots of adjustable room to play with so will work with any style phone. All metal construction and has rubbe mrounts to prevent scratching or damaging when mounting on lens. Overall solid 5/5.
