It works, changed a significant part of my life
I have chondromalacia, PT recommended to try the Cho Pat duel strap.I could not walk nor do my exercises, with sharp knee pain and swelling..Since I have been wearing these Cho Pat braces on both knees..I walk and exercise without under knee pain, and it keeps my misaligned knee, aligned..and no swelling since I have been wearing it..It amazed me really..the pain was dealt with in short order under the kneecap, the swelling gone the next day..I do agree, if your on the boarder in measurement, get the smaller one..I did and am glad I did..For a wee stetching does happen..If you wear it all day as I must, it might take a few days to get use to the pressure the inner tubing applies to both tendons.Though I have Fibromyalgia also, so perchance why it took me a few days to adjust to that..Now it just feels so much better without pain and swelling, barely know its there, till its time to go to bed and remove it.Fits nice, allows for full range while using..Its just made a big difference in my life..I would definitely recommend it especially for others with chondromalacia..also the price is right..

    Good for daily wear
I have a chronic knee problem due to medial meniscal tear and chondromalacia so I do get flare ups . Needed something light that doesn’t cause ankle swelling like a sleeve would and gives relief if worn daily. This is the perfect brace for what I needed , it’s comfortable and it doesn’t slide down .Its true to size(M) for a thigh circumference 18 measured 4.5 in above the top of the knee.Recommend product for purchase.

    Not Your Standard Purchaser
Due to an unexpected encounter with a drunk driver, my patella was crushed and not repairable. I’ve been given numerous braces by Docs over the years, at considerably more expense than this Cho-Pat Dual Action Knee Strap. THIS one is the first to provide immediate relief. Obviously, although I lost a lot of muscle and ligature tissue as well, this device is able to target what is left in such a way as to enable movement without pain – immediately! Because the opposite knee has done double-duty supporting my weight in grocery store lines, etc., it has developed some of its own issues. I will probably swap the current one out for one size larger due to scar tissue that has formed and use the original for the “good” knee, although the velcro straps have allowed a secure fit.Not only does it provide the reinforcement needed, it seems to have enabled me to take that next step with much less intentional focus on placing that foot and shifting my weight properly. This effect also seems to last for some time after the strap has been removed. Associated backaches have been significantly reduced.

    Comfortable for daily wear
I bought this for knee pain that was bothering me when I rode my bike. I think it might be MCL. I’ve worn it all the time besides riding and sleeping. It came recommended by someone who is a hiker. I’ve worn it for about 3 weeks and I believe it has been the reason my knee has seldom hurt riding. I measured and got a small. It fits but it had too much exposed Velcro that was sticking on fabric. I covered it with soft cloth to help when wearing long pants. I’d order a size up if I order again. It still seems to be effective and I wear it all the time without noticing it much.

    Good concept – poor execution
I have knee arthritis, and have tried everything short of knee replacement for pain relief. In an effort to continue my favorite activities (dancing and cycling), I decided to order several knee braces and test them out. Although most helped, some gave more support than others, and were more comfortable to wear. Here is a summary of my findings:Futuro Sport Moisture Control Knee Support – good support, but hot, sweaty, and not very comfortable. Restricted movement. The knee cutout didn’t fit around my kneecap very well. Big, black, and ugly. Why do manufacturers think we need to advertise that we are wearing a brace?Futuro Stablizing Knee Support – a simple elastic sleeve. At least this one was beige, but still hot and restricted movement some. Good support.Cho-Pat Dual Action Knee Strap – the double knee strap seems to provide very good support, but when you bend your knee, the edges dig in to your skin. Very uncomfortable, restricted movement significantly. Worst of all, the prickly side of the velcro faces out and gets stuck on your clothing or scratches your other leg.Bracoo Knee Strap – simple but effective – good support and comfortable to wear. Could be worn above or below the knee – two of these would mimic the Cho-Pat but be far more comfortable, without restricting movement – although it might not be big enough if your leg muscles are large above the knee.Neo G Medical Grade VCS Jumpers Knee Patella Band Strap – The silicone pad on this provided very good support on either side of the patella to help stablize it. Good comfort and mobility. Only gripes – it was not beige, and when worn on the left knee, the velcro strap must go on the inside, where it can get knocked loose by your right leg brushing against it.Futuro Sport Adjustable Knee Strap – Very comfortable. The molded padding provides some lateral support, but not quite as much as the Neo G.Jumper’s Patellar Tendon Strap with Silicone Pad by Oppo Medical – Very comfortable, but only places pressure on the center of the patella, not the sides – and therefore did little to help me. Might be helpful for other conditions. Very unobtrusive. My choice? For workouts and biking, Neo G below and Bracoo above the knee. For dancing – Neo G – unless I’m wearing pantyhose, in which case either of the Futuros would be less likely to snag. For everyday wear – the Futuro knee strap – A little less support but a lot more comfort.
