The difference between Big G and Big K
Watch Marco Lalau compare the best-selling Slicker Brushes – Big G and Big K. Each will work effectively but will take knots out easier depending on coat density. For dense, thick double coats such as Bouvier de Flandres and Black Russian Terriers use the Big K. For lighter, curly, cottony coats for breeds such as Poodles and “doodles” use the Big G. Marco is the founder of Groomers Pro. He is also a grooming educator, has owned/operated a chain of salons, and has competed on Groomer Has It.

Dog owners dream
The Chris Christensen baby G dog slicker brush and Ice on Ice Conditioner are every pet owners dream! Both the brush and conditioner compliment each other. My Ruby Jane’s hair feel like silk after just one application. The slicker brush made her hair smooth and manageable. Both products are amazing and well worth the cost!

Best slicker brush ever! Worth every penny!
I was put off a little by the price of this item so I didnât buy one for a long time. I immediately noticed this brush is totally different from any other slicker. The appearance, quality and numerous long curved spines did a great job very efficiently.I used this on my long hair cats.. Even the one who hates brushing allowed me to groom her. It took me only 2 minutes per cat with no pulling and no drama. After one use I ordered one for my dogs and a CC small detail brush as well as several CC liquid products for dry baths and touch ups.Good tools make all the difference and Iâm so happy with this one! I have easily purchased 30 slickers ranging from $2 to $25 and they were miserable to use. I could have saved so much money and agony buying this one good one.
Sly –
YES. Its worth the expense.
I really hesitated buying this for my standard poodle. Hey, Its a high price to pay for a dog brush, right? I cant afford the fees at the groomers, so I have been doing it myself. The slicker brush is really all that can penetrate my poodles thick hair and control matting. The slicker brush I had was difficult to use and my dog whined a lot, especially when brushing his legs. I spoke to MANY people at the dog park about the Chris Christensen Big G Slicker. Those who had them swore by them, so I took the plunge, knowing I could return it if I was dissatisfied.NOT RETURNING IT!!! I cant quite tell you why, but this brush is absolutely the easiest and best slicker brush I have ever used. I will try to describe why: First, the teeth are generous, long and flexible. They are angled and (the company advertises that) the tips are ground to avoid irritating the dog. The brush is very comfortable and ergonomic to hold. The handle is generous and shaped well. But most importantly of all, it made a huge difference to my dog! He was very tolerant of this brush, way more than any other brush I have used, including the expensive boar’s hair brush I tried. (Dont bother.) Nothing compares to this brush. NOTHING. It not only gets through his fluffy thick hair, it doesnt kill him to use it! He doesnt pull away, whine or act like he’s hurting at all. The brush itself is kinder on MY skin. The teeth are not sharp and do not scrape the skin, even in tender areas. It really got into the hair and easily undid the tangles. It was super easy to clean as well, easier than my shorter slicker brush.OK I’m now a believer in this brush. Is it worth the money? I guess so, seeing as how it turned routine grooming into a pleasant experience for me and the dog. I compared it to my old slicker brush and it’s clearly very different. So my advice is this: If your dog seems sensitive to brushing, if your hand hurts while brushing, if you find it difficult to clean a standard slicker, if you want a really high quality brush that (I presume) will last a very long time, this brush is the best quality and best performing one out there.

They were right
I’m cynical enough to always read the negative reviews first, but there were so many glowing ones about this brush I decided to take a chance and buy the thing on faith.Wow!Please understand, my athletic ranch spood is the grungiest tomboy of a poodle you can possibly imagine–we live on a horse ranch up in the mountains, and seemingly half her coat is a nest of pine sap, foxtails, burrs, muck and mud, and shredded bailing twine. The other half could pass as a cocoa mat. On top of this, I’m lazy and neglectful, and she’s not a particularly enthusiastic fan of my (typically botched) attempts at tonsorial symmetry. So, when this brush arrived (quite promptly, in fact), I was sitting on the floor of my living room watching the news in fascinated horror as my beloved old neighborhoods in West LA were turning to vapor in the Palisades fire. Entirely distracted, I unboxed and began idly brushing out my girl’s inexcusable mess of a coat, all while choking back tears at the unfolding catastrophe on the screen of my TV. . .Fast forward thirty minutes: By this time I couldn’t bear another minute of the coverage and clicked off in a benumbed daze. Then I looked down and realized that in my distress, I’d entwined fingers in the soft poof of an unrecognizably glorious (elegant, even), creme du lait floof, and it was snoozing peacefully next to me on the sofa. Throughout the whole brush-out she’d not made a single flinch or squirm, and was lying there on her back, legs splayed (as poodles do), when she looked up at me as if to say “Why did you stop, darling? That was heavenly.”That’s when I lost it. . .Thank merciful gods for the comfort of our kindly dogs.So yes. This is an absolutely WONDERFUL brush, and if you’re even THINKING about buying one, by all means treat yourself and your lucky pup; it’s worth every penny. IMO every poodle puppy should come prepackaged with the Chris Christensen Big G Dog Slicker Brush as standard equipment. By law.Highly recommended.

Husky/Samoyed Approvedð
I laughed at the price of this brush but purchased it anyways based off great reviews and recommendations from professional groomers. Compared to the many other brushes I have, this one genuinely works the best and my husky seems to enjoy the feel of it more than the other brushes. It gets out tons of loose undercoat, removes tangles with ease, leaves his coat looking slick and feeling smooth. Keeping the brush clean is pretty easy due to the downward facing bristles, you can just slide the fur right off of it. Also, if you have a metal comb for your doggo you can actually use that to clean this brush really well too! It’s easy to hold, comfortable in my hand. Honestly… If you have the $65 to spend on this, I would highly recommend this brush to anyone with a very thick, double coated dog.

I hesitated for months to buy this brush because I heard it was great, but the price made me pause. I wondered if the the brush was really worth the price. I finally bought it and after my first three brush strokes on my long haired, double coated dog I was convinced and had zero regret buying this brush. Brush time has also become easier for me and more pleasant for my dog.

I had no idea the difference a good brush can make. I have a 5-month-old Goldendoodle… lots of thick puppy hair. I was watching a couple videos on grooming Doodles and one did a brush comparison. This brush stood out as an excellent and number one choice. Well, I can definitely attest that they were correct. I was very surprised what a difference the longer brush teeth (?) make. Well worth the additional cost compared to my old model. Let’s face it… you will be brushing for many, many years (10+ years), might as well have the best tools to make the job easier and will last.
Kate –
Other brushes absolutely cannot compare for brushing out poodles, I promise you this brush is absolutely worth every penny for how fast and easy and gently it brushes my dogs dense fur. The bristles are not anywhere near as sharp or poky as cheaper brushes, and the bristles are longer and angled perfectly to bust up the fur clumps that form in the undercoat. Never in a million years would I have thought Iâd be spending this much on a dog brush but I was promised it was worth it and it is!

This looks like a non authentic Chris Christiansen brush. It doesnt have an etched logo/signature. Packaging is not as per shown picture. Item can only be returned on the same day??
