New Life in Old Bones!
The thumb guard fits snugly, but not uncomfortably. You MUST put it on to a comfortable-ish position, and then press it to form the metal for YOUR thumb. Immediately it was comfortable.I played with the velcro to test how tight I wanted the bands to be, and to see that they cross my hand WHERE my pain is, and not where some manufacturer thinks pain might be. These are right on the dot for my hand.The liners are a plus, as they keep the plastic away from skin.The only time the palm of my hand was pinched, was when i was using the wand for my vacuum cleaner. I readjusted how I hold the wand, and all went well from there.I sat and did ink drawings for about 2 hours — a sure way to make my thumb and forefinger HURT. I was only mildly uncomfortable in my wrist at the end of that.I spent the day, with paint brush staining, rubbin on and rubbing off with rags, planting, potting, trimming, weeding, hand watering, all day. I was able to open containers, without help or contrivances!!!! And I spent the whole day working without stopping every few minutes to shake my hands and groan in pain — the first time in YEARS.Tonight, I took them off before supper, to let my hands rest on their own for the evening, and I set the thumb braces and liners (I purchased right and left handed) to soak in warm mild soapy water. They came nicely clean and are drying on a towel overnight.These may not be the best on the market. They may be the first in a long line of experiments for this style thumb braces. For today, they passed a huge test. I will keep them and use them daily, with great appreciation for their assistance, and for the joy of being able to do much work without pain.I will see how they last – they do come with replacement velcro bands, so I do expect them to wear out at some point.This BEATS the typical thumb/wrist brace, hands down. There is full mobility, and none of the heat and irritation of being splinted into rigid place. They are much better than my gel braces, which hold dirt and sweat against my skin, for alleric reactions.For me, today, they are worth the price of even one lovely work day.I hope they last LONG.UPDATE: Day 3 – terrible storm damage on our street. All day work with leaf blower, raking, chainsaw, clippers, hauling, carrying, pulling and pushing. Working with the leaf blower was not terribly comfortable, but that big machine in small hands never is. I simply switched hands more often. With the small chainsaw, my thumb went a bit numb from the pressure of holding and pressing and maneurvering with the saw against the brace. BUT!!!! I did NOT have arthritis pain issues!I was able to work for 6 hours WITHOUT my thumbs screaming in pain from those 2 large thumb joints, or getting cramps from the big stiff brace. It’s miraculous!The grime washed right out of the velcro and the little elastic layer.So I’m happier than I was at the first usage.

be careful measuring your hand for this and the part that goes over the thumb is metal
it did not fit comfortably however, but I like the liner piece which I use for very light support, is comfortable and works well as a distraction sensory device which makes my arthritic joint feel better.

Much better than the physician prescribed brace.
My physician ordered me a thumb stabilizer brace because of arthritis in my thumb. Within 9 months the Velcro wore out and I needed a new brace. I wanted to just order one on line and found this one, less expensive than the one the Dr. had ordered for me. I decided to try the less expensive one and found it to be more comfortable and even comes with and additional light weight brace and replacement Velcro. What a great brace and it will last longer than the expensive one.Highly recommend.

This is a cheaper knock off of the excelent, Award Winning, PUSH Meta Grip CMC Thumb brace.I had my Push brace fitted by a hand therapist & it lasted me 4 yrs with reasonable care.This is cheaper & I tried ir for a week or so then put it aside & bought another Push.There is NO comparison for fit & function.

First one was great, now new style is terrible
I have ordered several of these so that I always have a clean one ready to go. The first ones I bought (1 left, 1 right) are great – good fit, comfortable strap (solid light gray, as shown in all seller and customer photos). I recently (Nov 2024) ordered more, and the new right ones came with a completely different strap installed. It’s bulky – 2 layers of material (one like fake leather) – and ugly – mottled charcoal gray – and it has bulky fake leather “Willcom” logo patches. There is less adjustability because of the new material, and – the worst part – the tab on the palm side now faces outwards (to get caught on clothing and other items, and come undone) rather than facing inwards (towards the palm). The old style was the feature that set it apart from all the other brands I tried. Now it’s generic and has the same design flaw as all the others (that the palm tab gets caught on everything and comes undone). I saw the same ugly brand patches on other brands and avoided them based on unfavorable customer reviews. The second strap in each package was still the old style – just the one pre-installed on each brace was the new one (but I need 2 straps, not just 1). I have reached out to Willcom customer service (via Amazon) to request replacement straps of the old style but I have not heard back from them, so I’m disappointed and frustrated there too. I’ll update my review if I hear back from them and get the 2 replacement straps I need…

Ho comprato questo prodotto perché è simile a uno più costoso che possedevo e usavo già . L’ho comperato in più per tenerlo nella borsa da viaggio per averne sempre uno a disposizione. L’ho provato e mi sembra che faccia degnamente il suo lavoro. Esattamente come l’altro. Questo, come valore aggiunto, ha anche una fascetta di uso facoltativo che isola la pelle dal contatto diretto con la plastica.
