Nothing Soothes the Soul Like Banging on a Drum – Good Child Beginnerâs Drum Kit
The Drum Kit comes superbly packed in a double walled heavy duty carton, with the components separately packed in their own boxes. The stand steel rods and components are attached with nylon clamps compressed with a square headed bolt and nut. A device, that reminds me of an old fashioned skate key, is used to bolt everything together. As the clamps and rods were preassembled in random orientation, I suggest that you take everything apart [compression clamps, nuts & bolts] and reassemble them so that the bolt heads always face: either up or you, as youâre going to be readjusting them many times as you get everything to fit you comfortably. The instructions are wordless diagrams and well executed. The 3 cymbals are 9â in diameter with â of the surface rubberized for striking, The 4 drum heads are 8â in diameter with 6.5â mesh skins: there is one snare and 3 toms. The cymbals are disproportionately quieter than the drums; no matter how I adjusted the equalizer and other modes, I had to hit them significantly harder than the drums to get them to sound appropriately. There is one pedal for the Hi-Hat and one for the Kick. The sound sampling is quite good and the various components sounded very realistic, with volume reflecting attack speed and force. All components are attached to the amp with mini jacks. The amp is powered by a USB-C port (a power brick and USB-A to USB-C cord supplied). Unfortunately the amp is rather primitive and there was an annoying hum upon powering up, that I could not eliminate, no matter what adjustments to the settings I attempted. Only after turning up the volume could playing suppress the hum. I did not test the midi and and other computer functions. A low fidelity head set is supplied for listening.Iâm 6â 4â and found the Drum Kit to be small for someone my size; given the kitâs quality and size it is best suited for a beginner young person. The stool was rather wobbly and I preferred using a chair. All in all, I had a lot of fun playing it and it is a bargain for the price.

This Kit Rocks!
This is a great drum kit. It has everything you need to get started. It took about an hour to put together. It has 15 different drums sounds, and it even comes with headphones if you want to play quietly. This would be a great kit especially if you have someone who is just starting and you want keep the volume down. With that being said you can connect it to an amp and jam out as well. My only gripe is I wish the power cord was a bit longer. It takes a usb-c, so I will just pick up a longer one.

Great, low cost complete kit. Sound samples and performance of kit are okay.
This is a great option for a beginner drum set at a bargain price. It does not have all the options that would come with a more expensive kit, like the entry level Nitro Max model from Alesis at around twice the price of this kit. Or, the entry level Roland V-drum kit for over 5X as much. And, if a drum throne and headphones are needed, itâs nice that this kit comes with everything needed for getting to drumming right out of the box, unlike the more expensive options. The drum kit is easy to set up, only takes about 15 minutes. The sound module has 15 different drum kits to choose from, and it can be used with the included headphones, or the output jack can be connected to an amplifier or interface to output through speakers. I also plugged in an old iPod to the Aux in to drum along with songs. The listing also states: â40 virtual lessons from Melodics for fun. Watch skills improve faster with real-time feedback, customizable drills, and progress tracking. Remember to contact customer service to receive the courses!â I emailed Donner support, and received a reply with steps to redeem the 40 lessons. After playing around with this kit, I do recognize the limitations and shortcomings. The pad and pedals only trigger a single sample, and itâs not very velocity sensitive. So, all the hits are the same, with exception to the pad sensors that are in the very center of the drum pads; when the outer parts of the pads are hit the amplitude of the hit is lower. The 15 kits are very limited as well, and compared to the sound samples found in the competition I would opt for one of the higher priced point kits already mentioned. However, I know we are talking about the most inexpensive electronic drum kit available. It comes with everything needed to get going. Definitely comes with a lot for the price and will be great for the kids and big kids alike.

My son loves it.
This is amazing one. My son loves it. These kits are perfect for kids or beginners who want to explore their musical side without disturbing others. The 15 different drum sounds and quiet playing mode make it ideal for practice sessions at home, while the ability to connect it to an amp allows for louder play when desired. Assembling this kit is a breeze, and the included headphones ensure that sound doesn’t escape into other rooms. Overall, these drums are a great way to introduce kids to music or help adults revisit their childhood passion – they’re fun, easy to use, and won’t break the bank!

Nice starter set
This is a nice set for a beginner, someone just wanting to check out the world of drumming, or someone hoping to sort of get back into the world of percussion. The headphone option keeps some of the sound down but keep in mind with instruments like this you will always have some sound coming from the impact on the drum “panels”.If you won’t be right next to an outlet you may want to swap out the USB-c cord for a longer one.

Not top notch but great for the kiddos
The sound isn’t awesome, you’re not going to win hair band drummer of the year with it, but it serves it’s purpose and the sound is better than expected but not enough for a perfect rating
