Ace-of-Stars –
CONVENIENT and VERSITILE
The perfect skillet for those of us who are serious about meal preparation but who are still stuck in a “College Dorm Student” and/or “Bachelor Pad” minimalist mindset. Wide enough to prepare several varieties of items together at the same time without necessarily having to resort to any additional cooking appliances, and Deep enough to handle a variety of soup/stew/casserole, etc. creations — Frying, Griddling, Boiling, it’s got you covered! ~ And it’s relatively SPACE-SAVING!The “rectangular” shape means not only more versatile cooking space, but also ensures a more even heating than what you’d get from a typical “square” electric frypan (which generally use a “circular” heating element, which is always guaranteed to leave “cold spots”) — and the way the heating element in this unit configured (what they refer to as an “M-configuration”) guarantees one of the best evenly distributed heated surfaces you can get with these devices.Add on top of that a “glass” lid with a venting hole, and the only thing you may think of that might’ve been a trade-off will be during those times when you would’ve appreciated having a “domed” lid instead. The “pouring notch” is the only inclusion which seems like a welcome addition but is in reality more trouble than it’s actually worth: to have made this feature truly effective, it should’ve been designed with a “protruding lip” to aid in giving a more precision & controlled pouring flow — just use the typical “pour out at the corner” method if you’re not fond of mopping up spilled contents after the fact.Despite its being heavy and sturdy, there are still a couple of areas of concern: One being that the “Non-Stick” surface will gradually lose its effectiveness, which I suppose is to be expected with all of such items, but any “peeling” (perhaps due to the “pitted” surface design?) will not be readily noticeable; and Secondly, DON’T DROP THIS THING!!! …as the plastic handles are of the variety which WILL break upon impact!Overall however, this was the best non-stick electric frypan purchase within a reasonable price range I’d ever made in all of my years of flying solo… so much so that this review is being provided on what was actually my SECOND purchase of this identical item! (see note above re: “fragile plastic handles”)Consider this an ENDORSEMENT.

so far so good, good depth & size for various cooking needs, better heat coil design than most
High rating for what it is, and for now. If I experience anything worth sharing, I will be back to do so (especially if negative).Electric skillets are a must have more me. Ease of use is my primary reason. I dont always want to use the gas stove, and I dont always want cast iron. I like the no fuss aspect of the electric skillet, and I like not “heating up” the kitchen in the summer. I also like it as an extension of my cook top options. I can use stove and also use this. I feel more comfortable cooking something for a long period of time in this than I do on my stove top. I sometimes use this a slow cooker, like its a hybrid. Now, the downside to electric skillets is that they eventually break down. I buy a new one every couple of years. DOES NOT MATTER BRAND. Brand name or off brand, they are all pretty much the same; something goes on them. I even had a $200 electric pot that barely lasted a year. SO, I now look for a product in the $50 range. If it lasts me a year, great. Unfortunate but true. Also, I am type to use this 1, 2,3x per DAY. So someone who says they’ve had theirs 10 years but only used 6x, is not helpful.Currently I have smaller electric skillet (maybe 12″x12″x2″) for most basic needs. I had had larger skillets like this in the past, but sometimes it felt like it was too big. Yet still had desire for one especially for larger scale cooking. Hence why I had the uber pricy electric pot style. When THAT stopped working (control panel), I decided I would just get this large skillet. It is wide and deep. Plenty of space to work with, including making sauces and soups. And stewps (my thick soups). I figure if my little skillet breaks down, then I also have this as back up.My little skillet is showing signs of “burn” where the heating coils run. This makes for uneven heating, more prone to burning food, and also wears down the non stick portion quickly. Wont be long before I toss it, or I buy another–I do like having the small one too.Ok, so with any and all these skillets of any brand at any price point, the areas that are likely to go bad are:1. heating coil area. This presents as a breakdown as seen in main portion of pan. Looks like a darker area. This contributes to uneven heating and less non stick. Then it is just always a mess to work with.2. temperature apparatus. The portion that plugs into the skillet. They are pretty much all the same, just a prong. Sometimes they dont situate right any longer.3. which is basically going back to #1, but the non stick wears away. You will get eventual scratches even if you are always using silicone or wood. ALSO, be sure to use soft cloth, nothing scratchy to clean inside. So when stuff seems to be burning or sticking too much, then it is time to think about buying new.ADDED TIP: when storing the cord inside, I like to keep a layer of paper towel or a cloth to line the skillet to protect it from prong scratching at it when in storage.++++++++++++++That all being said, this skillet is NICE. So far (again will update if need be)+++++++++–Size and depth are great for many cooking needs.–Cord is typical, with temperature control having its usual assortment of temps. Red light indicates its on–INSIDE has texture. A small dimpling all over the bottom. THAT IS NEW to me. Wasnt sure if I would like it, BUT it might just help extend the non-stick aspect.–UNLIKE most skillets of any size, this has TWO heat coils and not just one center loop (they call it M shape). THAT lends to much more even cooking, and hopeful much less likelihood of burn through.–Has cut out for pouring/venting and/or maybe spoon–1500 watt. Some have less wattageFOR MY needs, I like it–so far. I am currently pleased with it. Have used it several times, and so far so good. I will update if it all goes south. Or will perhaps update over time if it continues to be stellar. I tend to keep up with my reviews and will update on occasion.

Kitchen staple!
This is one of the best electric pans I have ever purchased. It heats up fast.. cooks evenly and is easy to clean! It has a small lip on the side corner to rest your spoon or spatula while the lid is on! I love that feature. I highly recommend this product!

Awesome skillet
I purchased this to replace my extra-large electric skillet that I had quit working. Walmart never has them in stock, and I can’t go long without one, as I use it frequently. This skillet is the best electric skillet I have ever had. It cooks evenly. It has a honeycomb texture on the bottom that I thought would get food stuck in it, but I was WRONG. It is so easy to clean. Food almost never sticks to it, even when I get distracted from the kitchen and forget I had meat frying. And even then, it comes loose with a gentle scrape from your utensils. It is large enough to cook a lot of food. I have use it to cook a roast. It was faster than a crockpot but safe enough for me to go outside and do work and check it occasionally and not have to worry about the stove or oven being on. I usually cook for 3 people on a daily but always need leftovers for lunches. But I can cook for 7-8 people with no issues.

This thing is huge! Great for deep frying and making soups and stews, spaghetti sauces. Sooo much room for pancakes and quesadillas, hash browns, etc.It has this textured bottom to it that is supposed to be anti scratch. I love this thing so much, I couldnât even think of using a utensil in it that wasnât plastic or silicone, even so. It goes up to 400degrees, nice even heat. So easy to wipe clean or put the entire pan in the dishwasher! Worth the money!

I use this pan at least 3 times per week with wooden spatulas and hand wash it. A year and a half later still looks like just out of the box. Gives excellent performance always. I have plenty on stove good quality pans but love to use this one especially during the summer.Highly recommend this item.

The finish in this pan is excellent and the temperature control is accurate. When set to 400 degrees it really is 400 degrees. Made pancakes like a whiz. Also great for large batch of stew or chili con carne. I’ve made both with great success. Love the pour spout!
