Excellent Home Dumbbell System
I bought the 44lb set due to the types of weights included and the adjustable way you can move things around. I am not a fitness freak and just trying to get in shape more. This system is made of plastic, but it is a high quality plastic. It feels sturdy and solid!Everything is included in the pictures as is, but I wish they had included a second kettle base rod. The second handle for the kettle base is pretty much on its own since it doesn’t have a place to go (unless you use it on a dumbbell or as a handle for pushups). Having a way to use two kettle bases at once would have been nice, or at least a way to store the last bit of weights so they are not loose.The yellow nuts are solid plastic and very sturdy. They screw on with no trouble and the threads on the entire system is of excellent quality. The weights on the dumbbells have not moved a cm since I got this a week ago. You will have an extra nut laying around due to the lack of a second kettle base. You could double up on one end of the dumbbells, or it will be used if you use less than 4 weights on the kettle base (needed to support the bottom).The barbell foam connector is nice and thick too. It is shaped in a rounded triangular pattern which allows for more stability. The only other thing I would improve upon is to provide both metric and imperial/standard systems on the weights. We can do the conversion easily online, but those of us here in the US cannot really fathom the difference between a kg compared to a lb. Although, I guess this will help us learn how to convert from kilograms to pounds.Overall, the entire system here is highly recommended and a quality set for the price. The plastic is really sturdy and feels like it will last a long time. I can only guess on whether there is a steel rod inside each bar (and if it is as thick as they say). But, the bars do feel that sturdy. Grab this system if you need a dumbbell set at home.

It’s OK, But….
I went in knowing this wasn’t top shelf stuff. But the price is damn good. It arrived today; all hardware accounted for. Interesting set-up, I must say. And a side note, I’m 68 yrs old, so I just wanted something easy, cheap and useful for me. This is. First off, I hated the 18″ metal bar with the huge piece of foam on it. It impeded my use of the middle area of the bar as I do front lifts where my hands are relatively close to each other. So…., I sliced the foam padding and removed it. The bar was just a steel bar. I took a 20″ piece of bicycle tire inner tube and stretched it over the tube covering it entirely. Makes a nice grip. (I use inner tubes and handlebar tape on many things…. Walking/hiking sticks, tool handles and other things…. I digress. I then had a piece of rubber self-seal pipe wrap insulation the inside diameter of the bar. I put it on, stuck it together and it now slips on and off the bar when I need it to. I then stuck some colored stickers on the edge of the weight plates denoting their weight (lbs.). Easier to see what you’re lifting at a glance.It is a little time-consuming attaching and removing the “plastic dumbbell” bars into the “metal bar”, but what the hell, it gives me a few minutes rest. This 48lb set is just fine for me. Keeps me healthy and in shape. Walking 6-8 miles a day helps too! I wear my Fitbit for that (also from Amazon). Thanks for listening. 🙋🏻‍♂️

perfect for beginners!
Love this set for working out at home. I’m new to the gym and sometimes being in there with a bunch of people can be overwhelming so I got this bc it would allow me to do my workout from home. It’s affordable, the barbell attachment provides great comfort, I love the versatility & how easy it is to set up or switch weights out. Can be stored in a small area so it doesn’t take up much room. I would recommend this to beginners. If you’re already weight training and you’re used to very heavy weights, this isn’t for you. **the only issue I’ve had with it is when I attached the dumbbell pieces to the middle barbell piece, part of the inner piece popped out (you can see it pictured) not sure if it’s gonna be a longterm issue but it worked as normal and I was able to pop the piece back in.

The versatility

Great value of course and solid product. With good care can last a while but it is obvious due to its mostly plastic design that after much use or abuse the threading or overall functionality could decline. Good bang for buck and good product for beginners and even seasoned weight lifters!
