My picky Shih Tzu loves this
My 2-year old Shih Tzu has always been a very picky eater. He was never very interested in the dry kibble that I fed him. I tried different brands of kibble, sprinkling meal toppers, adding a bit of water or chicken broth and warming it up, adding in a bit of pumpkin… nothing seemed to hold his interest after a few times. He was having some gastro issues like vomiting bile when he didn’t eat his kibble and diarrhea. I added FreshPet to his kibble and he loved it immediately! I was not getting my hopes up though because in the past he would like something for a little while but eventually get bored of it. However, it’s been a couple of months and he still is eating very well and loving FreshPet. I still give him 1/2 dry kibble and mix in the chopped up FreshPet. A log will usually last me about 5 or 6 days this way. Sometimes, he just eats the FreshPet food first and leaves the kibble, but he will later go back and eat the rest of the kibble. As soon as I put the food down, he goes to it and eats it up, which never happened before. He is not vomiting anymore and has good poops. I am very thankful for finding FreshPet and I think it has really improved my dog’s appetite and overall health.

From a could be dog trainer
I’m a moderator for an online master dog trainer (Garret Wing with DIYK9.com) and he trust me to speak on his companies’ behalf to share dog training knowledge to people around the world. I train my dogs with this Freshpet food for a high value reward, as well as a supplement to their dry dog food. Our dogs love this. Echo was manic for food as a puppy but had become less food motivated now that she’s about 18 months old. Now that we are putting this into her food bowl, she tears through the house and races to her crate, where with the dry food, she was not too thrilled with going to the crate to eat. Now I have to call her out of her crate, and she’ll come out, then boomerang right back in immediately, so I have to call her out a few times to get her to sit/down/stay, then release her to go eat. It’s so much cheaper per pound than training with traditional hot dogs, and I’m sure this is also healthier for dogs than hot dogs. As a matter of fact, I just sent this link to Garret’s project manager to share on their next business call to see if he’d try it out to replace hot dogs.Training tip: Make your dog’s work for their food. Training sessions are best, but honestly, most people don’t’ have time to train their dog at every meal, so just take 15-30 seconds and put them into a sit, down, and stay, and have them stay in place until you free them and let them go eat. This will reinforce obedience and give them better manners when it is time to eat.

The only food our GSD will/can eat.
Our GSD has a very sensitive stomach, over the first 18 month with us we went through sooo many brands of foods, and different proteins, grain/grain free… the list goes on and on. At one point he had near constant diarrhea for a month or longer multiple vet visits, and we had no clue what to do. We found that he just cant handle red meats. He can’t eat beef/bison or anything even close. We avoided FreshPet as he gets about 3 lbs of food per day, and it is a bit pricey. However after 1 day of eating his stool returned to normal and he actually loves the food. Now, about 8 months into eating freshpet, he has held a consistent weight and we havent looked back. We do shop around for sales and buy it wherever we can, as it does seem to be out of stock a lot of times. In addition to our GSD our senior dog also was switched to this food after a lifetime of Purina. We found that the fat content in dried foods is very high, which led to severe pancreatitis. He also had developed an abscess in his jaw which made it painful to chew the dry food. Intro freshpet, low fat higher protein. His pancreatitis subsided, his weight was better managed and his appetite returned to normal. It gave him back the some of his youth at 13 years old, which was absolutely amazing.I know finding the “right food” can be a challenge, this one certainly worked for us.

    Fresh
Well first of all, my dog Scooter just loves this food, he goes after every bowl that I lay down for him and it is enough to feed him twice a day. I am very happy with the food itself, it is just the packaging that has alot to be desired. They come in small boxes that are very difficult to open, they definately need some new kind of wrap. Please fix this problem and it will be great

    They ALL like it!
This is the one food that we found that all of our dogs will eat consistently. It’s a bit more expensive than canned or dry food, but much more affordable than most other refrigerated dog foods similar to it. Great value, and they all love it! It smells a little like bologna, and the dogs go nuts when I’m cutting it up for them. It’s easy to use and the dogs will eat it cold. The lines on the packaging help make it easy to cut the right portions for our dogs too.
