Cooking gamechanger!
Absolutely fabulous gadget! Can’t believe I wanted so long to get a mandoline. This one is just perfect, super easy to use and the blade is razor sharp. The knob lets you choose your thickness and I swear I sliced a pound of potatoes in paper thin, perfect slices in seconds! So easy and so easy to clean. Everyone who loves to cook should have one.

It’s sharp and it’s relatively easy to clean. I like the construction and the build quality. It works well. The one thing I don’t love is that it’s slide around a little too much on my counter when I’m using it. It feels a little squirrelly. When it’s not sliding, and I’m really concentrating on holding it in place it works great. I can turn a pile of potatoes into a pile of slices in no time. I wear the cut-resistant gloves it came with (love those) so I can slice confidently. I don’t know… I’d give it five stars if the folding feet gave me more confidence and it didn’t slide around.

So I have never had one of these danger slicers before, and was super hesitate given my more than acceptable ability to hurt myself. Finally annoyed at my inability to cut a thin sliced tomato without injury, this one caught my eye while Amazon surfing. It comes with an anti-cut glove for starters, so safety challenged folks like me can sigh with relief. It also can cut slices, French fry cuts, and those tiny julienne cuts too. Cleans up like a dream! I am sold after making a batch of radish chips in the deep fryer. If you are debating, don’t. It’s a high-quality tool for what you would pay for a plastic-y version at another retailer!

Totally inadequate manual for newbies Beware! Otherwiee, product is great
I had never used a mandoline food slicer before and found the manual totally inadequate to prepare me for what, if used carelessly, is a potentially dangerous product! (i.e assuming you donât enjoy possibly slicing your fingers)Bottom line: The mandoline has 2 rectangular metal pieces, one that opens and the other fixed. I didnât realize, until I heard on YouTube, and carefully verified on my own, that the edge of the fixed piece is RAZOR SHARP. That edge is what does the cutting. Now that I know this, I will say it is âobviousâ but I didnât know it beforehand. If you are not careful, look out. The product to its credit provides a cut âresistantâ pair of gloves (darn nice) and a food holder. The product is good, the manual is not.FYI: âmandolineâ and âmandolinâ are English homophones. This means they are pronounced the same but have totally different items. âMandolineâ, ending with an âeâ, is a food slicer; âmandolinâ, without the ending âeâ, is a musical instrument

Sharp and effective
Works well, a lot better than others I’ve used in the past. The controls are a little bit odd for adjusting the height and would be good if it was separate to the attachments but it works very well.As usual though the protective guard is useless for odd or large items. Bit of a shame but doesn’t hinder its usage.

Plastic Cutting Guide Warning
While using the the plastic cutting guide, there was small black pieces of plastic in the food I was slicing. When I turned the guide over, I saw that the blade was actually cutting into the hand guide.When cleaning the mandolin with the brush, which was included with the set, the blade actually cut the bristles off.The mandolin is great, but the hand guide and brush, not so much. Just use the gloves included with the set, while cutting.

I can only say, watch out—its’ SHARP! LOL I had been using an OXO brand that I had had for years. It was always a bit of a pain to use: the dial was finicky and difficult to turn. Maybe it just worse with age, I don’t know. This one is delightfully easy to adjust from paper thin on up. It collapses so it’s easy to store and it seems very durable. Time will tell. At least this year when I want to cut cukes for pickling, it won’t be such a HEADACHE!!

The blades aren’t as sharp as it needs to be to ensure smooth cutting operations. Also it leaves our a significant bit towards the end that there is no way of cutting. Creates either a lot of waste or makes it time consuming the cut the last bit or dangerous of you try to do it by hand without the guide.
