Apply suction – you may need to adjust a couple of times. Once the pump is secure and comfortable you can squeeze the base of the pump (not interfering with the top/suction) to create some movement. A warm flannel on top of your breast is also a great tip and gently massage the top of your breast. Once milk begins to flow simply leave the pump alone to do its thing. Once the pump becomes full empty into a glass storage bottle and reposition. Also attach in the same way while your child is feeding on your other breast and collect all let down and milk which would other wise be lost into a breast pad. Great for the postpartum mama!
These things are amazing. My only concern is, it can cause a mama to have overactive letdown which presents as reflux-like symptoms in baby. Also if you notice it starting to fall off, time to replace it. They donât last forever unfortunately, but they are awfully cheap to replace which is nice! These are just as effective as a manual or electric pump for me – I use on one side while baby is latched on the other. It may make your breasts leak if you ever skip the haakaa while nursing though!

This thing was a LIFE SAVER during my maternity leave! My son started sleeping through the night pretty early on (by 4 weeks), so by the time he would wake up at 5:30am for his first feeding I was SO swollen and full that he would only take one side. This stressed me out so much because I couldn’t just leave the other side still full…so I would either be crying trying to get him to wake up to eat the other side, or have to hook up the electric breast pump (which I HATED because there were so many parts to clean, and that would be an extra 20 minutes before I could go back to sleep).The Haakaa saved me for 2 reasons1) I needed to start a freezer stash for when I returned back to work at 8 weeks and this allowed me to do so without having to pump (the pediatrician suggested pumping AFTER his feedings to build my supply….who has time for that?!?! I would have been literally a milking cow the entire day).2) It’s literally effortless with zero pain and only ONE part that cleaned easily.I stumbled across this on a blog by accident when I was trying to figure out how to build my freezer stash before returning to work without losing my mind and I will never be more thankful for a product. I would use this for the first 2 feeding of the morning (since you’re fullest in the morning) and would have 4-6oz a day to put away in the freezer.All you have to do is squeeze the base, put on breast you aren’t feeding from and release base to get it to suction to your boob. The suction holds it in place. Then have your baby feed from the other side and it will trigger your let down on the side the Haakaa is suctioned to!!!!!!!Only negatives (but not bad enough to not warrant this a 5 star product) is that if you don’t pay attention, it can lose suction and come off (I just kept an eye on it and whenever it started to lose suction I would give it another squeeze to reestablish suction). Second is that is does not fully drain you like an electric pump would, but is enough to relieve you so you can go back to sleep (or for the second morning feeding, my son was usually awake enough that I would let him feed on that side after I used the Haakaa).Get this….you won’t regret it!!!!!

Used for all 3 of my kids
I used this for all three of my kids while breast-feeding. It was very handy to have during the late night feedings to catch the letdown on the opposite side. Definitely not an exclusive pump because it wonât empty you but it will help to ease engorgement. This is good thick durable rubber but will tip over and spill milk so you do have to be careful. Love that I can just throw it in the dishwasher.

Muy sorprendida con éste producto! Opción fácil para aprovechar la subida de la leche en el otro pecho del que no mama el bebé y recoger la leche. Lo conocà de casualidad y no puedo estar más contenta. No se trata de un recolector ni de un extractor como tal. Se sujeta al pecho como una ventosa y con esa fuerza que ejerce al agarre hace una leve succión.
