    Used for baby conures.
My conures eat Harrison’s pellets so this was the perfect choice for feeding their babies when it came time to co-parent. Easy to mix. No bad odors and the babies loved it!

Great product and superior customer service
This is a thank-you note to the Finchery for its prompt and professional service of a very fresh product. I ordered one package on Wednesday, and it was at my post office on Saturday–amazing, considering it was standard shipping and I usually wait 7-9 days for items to arrive to Hawaii. For background, I purchased Harrison’s Juvenile Hand-Feeding Formula after a coworker found a fledglingnestling bird which fell out of its nest. As he thought it was a baby Common Mynah, he asked me if I could adopt it. I did, and immediately ordered this food, which was recommended by the Wild Bird Rehab website. Mynahs cannot tolerate iron and will develop hemochromatosis with iron buildup. (Note: Kaytee Exact is not recommended because of its high iron content.) When my coworker brought the baby in, I identified it as a nestling Red-vented Bulbul, another local bird. Its eyes were not yet opened, and he was rather small for this stage. I fed him a homebrew concoction as I waited for the Harrison’s to arrive.I was totally amazed when it arrived in my post office on Saturday. The Finchery really care for birds and their customers’ needs. The product itself is amazing. I’ve rescued many wild birds over the years but have never used a commercial product before. This product is a light green powder, but my baby (whose eyes have just opened yesterday) doesn’t care. Since he’s a Bulbul, I’ve added some cooked egg yolk for protein and mashed banana and juice for the fruit component. To bind it into a soft paste, I’ve also added crushed Cheerios. Before feeding him, I would coat the small pellet with mashed bananamango baby food.Again, thank you Finchery for a great product and your very professional service.

    Happy babies
I am hand-feeding two parakeets and wanted to try this brand out, it caught my eye since its organic and the ingredient list is very different then the other brands I have tired, this has a lot of good things for a growing bird, I really love the kelp, flaxseed, Spirulina, and D3. The first ingredient is not corn like kaytee. I use 1/2 TBS and 1TBS water to make enough for 2 parakeets and there is no left over to waste. My babies are getting their feather much quicker not sure if thats a good thing or not but they very alert and bright eyed and at 4 weeks old they are already trying to learn the flying thing they are more aware then others at this age. I will defiantly be buying more.

    The BEST formula out there!!!
I have literally seen a difference in my bird when I switched over to this formula! My baby Amazon was getting kaytee exact with his breeder, thought the ingredients were crappy, so I started shopping around for a quality food with healthy ingredients!!! Kaytee formula is mostly corn, cheap filler, I refuse to feed my bird filler, I won’t feed it to my dogs either!! I’m so happy I came across this formula…non GMO…wow!! My bird has more energy and beautiful feathers! My baby took to this formula right away!!! I then added high potency mash to it to aid with weaning..he loved it! My bird thrives on this stuff!!! Give it a try!! It’s expensive but you get quality food!!!

Best Juvenile Hand-Feeding Formula Out There
Harrison’s is one of the best names in bird food. Their juvenile formula, IMHO, is the very best one out there. Many others have high levels of corn and sweeteners. This one is full of natural things that is closer to what parrots in the wild would be fed. My poi parrot took @ 4 days to accept it (but she was fed a high fructose corn juvenile feed by the breeder). Once she did accept it, she begged for it all the time. I continue to syringe-feed her 1x/quarter (in case I ever need to feed her medication, she’ll stay used to this feeding method) with this feed and she loves it. Highly recommend.

OMgosh, love love love this stuff!
When I got my cockatiel, he was being handfed with Exact. I handfed him from 4 weeks on. For some reason, I didn’t like Exact, and since I wanted to wean him on to Harrison’s pellets, I decided to switch to the juvenile formula. One of the things I didn’t like about Exact was how messy it was to feed! And then if I missed any on him, it was as hard as a rock when he woke up. It didn’t smell very good either. Not to mention the ingredients aren’t that good. I did some research and then bought this formula. At first, I was surprised by the color…a soft green. But it smelled really good. Zero took to it with gusto! He loved it. Very little came out of that beak (while with Exact, it seemed like a lot came out). I think it’s funny how much he loves it. He seems so much more happy and contented. And when I miss any formula on his chest or chin, it isn’t like a rock. I just put some warm water on it and it’s easy to remove…like it melts.I highly recommend this baby formula. Oh, and I should add, his weight is spot on.I hope this helps. My parakeet took to her Harrison’s pellets right away….from seed!

    Excellent product
Although this formula is for feeding baby birds, I purchased it to feed to my 2 year old budgie. He seemed to be on strike when it came to eating, and having had many birds, I knew that hand feeding him would prompt him to eat, and if not, he would be getting nourishment. Harrison’s is my chosen formula in hand feeding as well as pellets for my adult birds.

Sadly I can only go on my experienceI’ve tried it on five foster baby parakeets & not one of them seem to enjoy it. Also tried it as dry mixed into seeds & they refused to eat the seeds! To be honest even I couldn’t handle the smell of itBut that’s just my experience – maybe better for others
