Great Guide for Natural Remedies
I am always looking for additional information on natural remedies. I like this book because it covers, herbal remedies for everyday issues, and it provides information on how to incorporate herbal health into daily meals using dressings, syrups, and teas. This author does a wonderful job giving details on how to grow your own herbs in small spaces. I found this invaluable, along with how to identify and find herbs on your next nature hike. I also liked how there is a chapter on how to create your own nontoxic home cleaning supplies. This book takes on a holistic well-rounded approach on how to use herbs in your daily life. I have really enjoyed this book, and I hope you do too.

Great Information!
I love learning about herbs and tinctures! This book was perfect for my needs and I have really enjoyed it! I would much rather have the actual printed book, but the download able version is great too.

Great way to get started …
I was fast enough to get the Herbal Remedies eBook on a free deal. After reading it, I plan on spending the few dollars each to share it with a couple friends who share my love of natural remedies. While this is geared toward the beginner, if you are more advanced in your herbal remedy journey, I believe you will still find useful facts and information throughout this book. It is definitely worth taking a look. What I liked:1) Starting in the first chapter we are guided through tools and sourcing quality ingredients. But the one thing I find missing in many books that this book offers is how to use what we source, safely. I regularly find recipes for tinctures and such but then am left unsure how to use it properly – this book helps to solve that issue.2) The author didnât try to cover every single herb and situation. The focus was on beginner friendly herbs and remedies with which to build skills. Because the focus was narrowed, it allowed for meaningful info to be included rather than barebones mentions.3) This book is not just about making tinctures, although that is part of what is covered. It includes salves, teas, tinctures, pastes, powdered and others. Honestly, the array of options surprised me as most people talk about tinctures, salves and teas. But there is so much more.4) My favorite part is the encouragement to continue learning. Donât be satisfied with what you read in this book alone, but get involved with certifications, networking, various herbal communities and continue to test out your own creations, refining and recording details of successes for future use and tweaking.

For basics and beyond
If I was a wordsmith, I would have a book of my own, but alas I’m not, so here’s what I know. The book is a toe dip into the amazing world of herbalism and a little more. It gives you basic information about how to forage for, grow, how they can be used, like tinctures, capsules, how to be with like minded people and why you should do things like number one in my world, keep a journal. I actually have my own materia medica file with 4 x 6 cards on the herbs I have on hand. Notes on the cards if the herbs are warming, cooling, etc. and then a 3 x 5 behind it if I used it, when used, what symptoms, the ratio, like 1 to 5, how long, how it worked, if I gave it to another family member and their results. We need more herbalists, we need to teach our children so they can teach their children. If you are going to plant, why not plant something medicinal, for the planet, for the bees and wildlife? Like elder. We have plants on top for the deer and birds and more protected in the back for us. The flowers for the bees, and a children’s tincture. The leaves for a salve and the berries for an immune tincture and syrup. This book will explain to you all the ways to make these things and the tools needed. Start small and grow bigger, for self, family and friends. If you could never step into a pharmacy again, do you know what plants to use for infections or to stop bleeding? They could already be growing in your yard. Buy the book and decide if this exciting journey is for you. I’m 73 and started last year. I do not take pharma drugs, but take my plant medicine seriously, and most of the herbs and plants/weeds have no side effects. What are you waiting for?

This book is a definite must for the beginner and all those who have dabbled in herbal remedies. Each chapter is well written and easy to follow. Right from the beginning the book goes straight into the herbalistâs toolkit, sourcing and selecting quality herbs, safety â recognizing side effects and calculating dosages, creating your herbal notebook. Profiles of the more common herbs, how to prepare infusions, decoctions, crafting herbal oils and salves which was a particular interest for me, to basic techniques and ratios. This book contains step by step guides in preparing remedies and how to use them. The book continues with Advanced herbal preparations, Holistic Herbal Lifestyle â Meditation and mindfulness. Right through to Continuing Your Herbal Education. A bonus chapter for herbal remedies for your pets. I canât recommend this book highly enough; it is definitely a book I will refer to often.

I have been very interested in herbal meds for a very long time as I truly believe nature has everything we need we have just forgotten over the centuries what our ancestors would have known. This book is a great guide into basics and a helping hand into the world that once was. I would definitely recommend this book.
