Easy to adjust, fits well, relieves pain
I was a bit skeptical on how well this would fit me and just how much it could relieve pain, but this exceeded my expectations. It was very easy to put on and fit surprisingly well, even around my waist. Usually even the smallest brace sizes are too loose to provide any relief. The elastic belt helped a lot with my hip and lower back pain, as well.It was easy to adjust, and it didn’t take much effort to get a good fit. It’s still reasonable flexible, so while I’m getting pain relief, I don’t feel super constricted. The material is thick and the stitching feels durable.There was a slight smell upon opening the package, but a little airing out fixed that right away. The only other minor complaints are that this does get warm easily and that the fabric pills easily due to the velcro, but that’s to be expected of most braces. But overall, I’m very happy and pleasantly surprised with this brace!

A Strong Brace With No Extras Provided
The Soloever Hip Brace for Sciatica Pain Relief comes tightly packed in a strong cardboard box. Save the box, since no storage bag or case is included with the brace. There are also no instructions included inside or printed on the box describing how to wear the brace. You must watch an installation video on the Amazon product page. The brace has a rubbery smell similar to a new tire that hasn’t gone away with use.The brace consists of two pieces. The primary piece is one large piece of thick fabric with bands that wrap around the waist and the thigh without too much effort. A separate tensioning strap is included that is not permanently attached to the hip brace, although it does have a Velcro strip in the middle to center the strap on the back of the brace. That strap can be stretched over the waist band for additional tightness and support.The dual strap design for the thigh band works extremely well for gradually increasing tension one strap at a time without losing control of the band. It also allows for use of the brace over stiff clothing such as denim jeans, although softer material such as sweatpants works even better. I don’t like that the Velcro ends of the two straps are thin plastic instead of fabric like the rest of the brace.I found it easy to sit down, walk and use the bathroom (standing) while wearing the brace. Have to be careful, because it is so easy to increase tension with this design that you can get the brace too tight and restrict blood flow.This is one of the better sciatica brace designs I have tried. I just wish a better storage container and detailed wearing instructions were provided.

Doesnât work for me!
Where do I start??? First off, it doesnât come with instructions on how to wear. However, there is a video in their description that shows you how to put it on. That was helpful. The Velcro is strong, annoyingly strong, as it wanted to attach to any fabric it touched. Almost ruined the sweater I had on. So be aware of that as you put it on or take it off.I have mobility issues with one of my hips and was hoping for some stability in that area. I wore this out for my daily walk. FYI – the thigh straps do show thru your clothes (see photo). So much for being discreet.By the end of my walk, I didnât notice any positive difference in how my hip normally feels. There didnât seem to be any support in the area I needed it to be in. No way to make adjustments for that. And when I took the brace off, the areas where it covered me were really sweaty. And it was only 49 degrees F outside. Not a warm day and Iâm not a speed walker either! They say: âthis hip support brace offers soothing warmth and compression while remaining skin-friendly and breathable.â I say: âreally? Feels like sweat to me!âI didnât experience a strong odor like some others have mentioned. Sure, there was a rubbery scent, but it was fairly light to me. The odor was the least of my concerns as long as it helped me. But, it didnât help at all.Iâm really disappointed that this hip brace didnât work for me. Please know, this review is about my experience. Your experience may be different from mine. It really depends.

Supportive, but not of hip
This is an interesting brace. It comes with a separate back support strap that feels great once you get it on, and itâs wonderful for a sprain in the thigh or hamstring, but my hip didnât really feel any support at all. The fit was highly adjustable. I donât have the issues with a rubbery smell like a lot of other people apparently did. I wonder if it was opened before, because there was no bag, no insert, just the brace folded up in the box? The material isnât the best quality, but itâs perfectly usable, just might get fuzzy a little quicker. Iâm being generous with the rating because it actually really does feel useful, just not quite in the way it was intended to be.

HUGE improvement!
I have oesteoarthritis and a labrum year in one hip. I use a cane out of the house when I can. I use a brace similar to this one for outdoor recreation and chores. That brace helped but I have been getting frequent lower back pain from how I have to carry myself.This brace is SUCH a huge improvement. I can or streas enough what a huge different that tiny feature makes. The support is great through the hip and the back. It adjusts in so many ways that you can tailor it to where your body needs the most support. It stays in place well and is comfortable – even sitting down! I have had others that dig in funny if you need to sit – this stays comfortable. I won’t be using my other one at all anymore.

Works well, adjustable, but strong smell
This hip brace is generally well made and sturdy, and I like that there are two bands around the thigh area for an adjustable fit. There is also a separate lumbar brace that can be added to the lower back for additional support. There are some small air holes but in general this type of material and its location means it can be a bit hot after wearing it for awhile. The one downside is that there’s quite a strong artificial smell upon opening that requires airing out.
