Hip thrust game changer!
This makes doing hip thrusts so much easier. It has 2 srong velcro straps securely holding each dumbbell in place. I have tried 25 & 30lbs on each side and no problems. Get it!!!

Much more than just hip trust!
Initially I had dubious thoughts on the belt, but having used it on several workout sessions, there are more exercises you can do including squats, lunge, pushups, etc. The velcro straps are pretty burly and had no issue handling 45 lb dumbbells or kettlebells. The four velcro straps did their job holding weights in place and stable.I think individual athletes will figure out their own unique steps to utilize these belts, especially working out with heavier dumbbells. I do recommend using lighter weights first to just get comfortable in handling the dumbbells. It’s nothing like working with a barbell and if not careful, it’s not going to be fun having a dumbbell ding you on your hip. These are convenient for home gyms as my space limits having a barbell so it fits the void for me. Good construction and function, but took a star off for the initial learning curve.

Great addition to home gym!
I workout exclusively at home but wanted to add more weight for hip thrusts. This has held my 40 lb and 50 lb dumbbells just fine. Takes a moment to get the set up right at first and to get it comfortable on my hips but now I have it down and it’s quick. The velcro is super strong and the belt itself is thick and comfy.

Must have in your home gym
Love this for hip thrusters! So much better thank using a bar. I would get bruises on my hips. Great investment!

Game changer
I love having this as an alternative option from the bar. Iâm no longer bruised from the barbell. Holds heavy dumbbells

Questionable Design & Claims, but Specifically Useful = Good Value
The Hip Thrust Belt brings up one of the big questions when deducting stars: Does this product underperform, or do I just not like it? Should I ding something that does its job when it isnât the job I expected? Regardless, I just donât like it, but Iâll try to be fair.Iâm a former trainer and strength coach, and Iâm not a fan of hip thrusts anyway. Theyâre not functional lifts, and if you want to strengthen your glutes and core, squats and deadlifts are far more efficient than hip thrusts, which target a smaller group of muscles in a very limited range of motion.I ordered the hip thrust belt because I like accessories that accommodate plates and dumbbells. Theyâre useful for extra weight on pull ups or lunges. I assumed that this was such a belt, but it isnât- itâs a strap, and it doesnât close. It hangs over your waist in one very specific position, and thatâs it. I know, itâs called a hip thrust belt. However, I expected it to close. I also expected to be able to hang it over my neck and shoulders- like the picture shows- but the strap is far too wide. Another picture touts the beltâs capacity to hold â400 lbs,â while showing a young woman with eight lb. dumbbells. Sure. Please send me pics of someone using this to hold 400 lbs. Those âit-can-do-all-this-terrific-stuffâ claims are what cost this belt two stars; it pretends at things it isnât designed for, and capacities it doesnât have. I donât know what to do with it now; maybe I can hang weights from it and use it some other way. Maybe. Doubtful. If youâre a hip thrust fan, have at it, and hip thrusting to you. Otherwise, Iâd look for a real belt that can do more.-ZAddendum, a few days later: I did find another use for it, one that bumped it up from three to four stars. I strapped a couple of plates to it, and used it to weigh me down for heavier-than-body-weight pull downs. I put a 25 on either side, got myself into position (a little wonky, reaching up for the bar while keeping it on my lap, but it worked- I’ll post a pic next time I lift) and the belt was better for this than anything I’ve used. For you lifters out there, it’s a cool accessory for heavy pulldowns, but I still maintain that it’s only so-so for hip thrusts…because I don’t like them. I realize I’m being a bit tough here, like knocking a sedan because it doesn’t pull a trailer, but I’m standing on four stars. Five’s still too high. Sniff.
