Good shelf, better if you’re handy.
Off the top I’m going to say that if you aren’t comfortable with measuring, leveling, measuring again, drilling pilot holes and leveling again then this may not be the item for you. Although the materials provided with the shelf are mostly fine, sadly it does not include an installation template of any kind (really, one sheet of paper is all it would take) so you will want to measure the distance between the mounting holes and double and triple check your work so everything lines up when you begin the installation. Also, the hardware does not include any kind of washers to help spread the holding load of the (sort of small) screws. I had some in the spare parts jar that worked OK.That said, the shelf itself is as described. It folds down and then folds back up, the bracket is sturdy enough and the wood on the shelf has a gradual cutout in the back to accommodate wires. I am using it in my garage to mount a center channel speaker that used to sit on top of the workbench and thus was frequently moved around. The speaker isn’t the lightest thing in the world but the shelf has no problem supporting it.

Good shelf, solid fold-down mechanism
This shelf arrived fully intact, and was not very hard to install. I would have highly appreciated some type of template to more easily mark/drill the pilot holes, and someone less handy than I would probably require that for an easy installation process. It is sturdy enough to securely hold my projector, and that’s about all I needed it for. I don’t plan to fold it down, as the projector will just stay on the shelf even when not being used. That said, the folding mechanism seems sturdy and convenient if you wanted to have less of a protrusion when not being used.

Does it’s job!
Holds our large projector and is spacious enough that it doesn’t fall off or hang over the edges. Very easy to install, it came with instructions but you don’t really need them. It came with the screws and the anchors and they’ve held up nicely since install!
