Lightweight pack wonât make you hotter
I shied away from using hydration backpacks for a long time, until last fall when I tried one on a tough bike ride. I was really glad I had it – I was doing a lot of hill climbing in hot weather, and I could just grab a drink at any point, without having to reach down and grab a water bottle. I think after that experience I will definitely use it on future rides. Also, I was hiking on the AT last summer and had my water bottle awkwardly attached to a carabiner, and it was tough to grab it without stopping as I was hiking. Iâm going to try my hydration backpack next time Iâm on the trail. For the best experience, you really want to have ready access to water when you are working hard on a bike or a trail.This particular unit is lightweight, and made so it wonât make you overheat while wearing it. The bag is filled through a large opening that is sealed with a slide-on clip. I think I put the bag in wrong when I first tried it out. I think the closing clip goes at the bottom of the bag, along with the beginning of the spout, and then you run it up and around. In the picture, Iâve shown it with the spout starting at the top, which makes it kind-of long when you bring it forward.In the photos where the item is featured on the Amazon site, there are no pictures of the front of the user to show how you might string the tube in front of you, so you have to improvise to make it best for your own preferences, I guess.When you are on the trail or the road, you might want to fill this bag from a stream or a lake. The filling opening might allow you to sweep it through a lake or stream, and then attach a filter to the end of the spout so youâre drinking filtered water. I havenât tried that yet. Otherwise, youâll have to fill it using your water filtering device and then seal it up.I found it does take a little practice to put on the clip to seal off the bag, but it seems to work well.

I love this little pack. I tried it out recently on some hikes during a trip to Nicaragua, and it was perfect. Holds a good amount of water, and it’s lightweight and very comfortable. I love that the straps are thin and have the mesh material, as normally my straps get soaked through with sweat. It definitely helped keep me comfortable. It also clips in front for extra support/comfort, and I found the pockets were perfect for my essentials. This wouldn’t work for a long hike where you needed to bring a lunch or something with you, but my phone fit perfectly in the zipper pocket on the strap, and the other strap pocket was great to hold my chapstick and some other odds & ends. I would recommend!

Pretty cheap quality
The quality of the backpack and the reservoir are very cheaply made. The hose is decent, but the mouth piece makes it difficult to fully clean.

This is perfect! I just started running and this fits perfect to have some water on longer runs. I love the little pockets that you can put snacks. It is light weight and comfortable. Highly recommend

Great quality vest that would benefit from a smaller hydration bladder
A hydration enhanced running/cycling/hiking vest with a spacious 2 liter hydration bladder. Let me go through the POSITIVES and COULD BE IMPROVED points I discovered.POSITIVES:- Light weight material with breathable mesh type straps and back.- Long adjustment straps on the sides for those of us with a larger upper torso. It was great to find the strap and adjust it when wearing the vest.- Front right pocket held my Moto 5G Stylus in a large case. Drawstring cord made sure it would stay secure.- Deep left side front pocket with atop zip also held my phone and will easily accommodate snacks, wallet and keys.- Elastic cord on back with a drawstring toggle to hold a light jacket.COULD BE IMPROVED:- The hydration bladder is well made, top fill type with a cap on the valve (all good points), however, it is too long for the pack. The pack has secure straps to hold for the hydration bladder but the bladder is a good 4-5 inches too long for the back pouch!- Add some strap holders (small elastic loops) to keep those nice long straps from flapping around too much.This is a well constructed running/hiking/cycling vest with excellent straps for adjusting to fit larger upper torso individuals. I wear a 44 men’s chest coat and this fit me with straps to spare. Lightweight and breathable mesh type material in back and straps make it cooler to wear. I subtracted a 1/2 star for the oversized hydration bladder. Rounded up it is 5 stars due to the quality of the vest itself. I simply will probably swap out the hydration bladder for a 1.5 liter size.
