Bright Colors, But Messy When Gluing
I recently purchased the Hygloss Colored Craft Sticks for some DIY projects and had mixed experiences with them.**Pros:**- **Vibrant Colors:** The colors are bright and eye-catching, perfect for a variety of crafts.- **Smooth and Splinter-Free:** The sticks are well-made and don’t have splinters, making them safe for kids to use.**Cons:**- **Color Bleeding:** When gluing the sticks, the colors tend to bleed and make a mess. Perfect for several craft projects
Started off with glueing three together to make spider webs for Halloween. Then glued 2 together for God’s eye ornaments for Christmas. Then the kids made snow flakes by decorating the ones left from Halloween. They loved working with these. The most recent project was taping 6 to toilet paper rolls for French knitting (similar to finger Knitting) but easier to put down and pick up again later.

My kids LOVED these. We made Ferris Wheels out of them and a few various other creative inventions. The colors are very vibrant. The will stain if you get them wet, though so be advised. Most of them were straight and well formed. We only had a few that were misshaped.

My only complaint is that the color bleeds on your hands with extended use. It washes off pretty easily but it was a minor annoyance for me. Here’s a size comparison between your standard popsicle stick and this brand though. (Purple is the size this box has.) As you can see these ones are a bit shorter and quite skinnier but they are the same thickness. I use the sticks for daily five pockets and counter sticks in math. These are perfect for that.

These are cute and come in a nice variety of colors, but the color bleeds everywhere when glue hits it. It makes a huge mess and is not that easy to clean up. If you buy this product, make sure you put something down to protect your table, and get ready to scrub your kids’ fingers very well.

These are fantastic! Bright colors and I haven’s founbd any broken ones yet in the box. So far, we have used this box to do a craft project with a first grade class, a preK class, multiple projects at home – and there’s still more left! The projects are so pretty – much brighter than painting plain sticks – and much faster than waiting for them to dry after painting!
