I bought this as my first hydration pack to just get acquainted with them for practicing riding with a backpack for the Mongol Derby 2022. I rode about 3-4 hours a day/6 days a week for a few months. Bought a different pack to see if I liked it better (did not), and eventually took this one on the 1300km horse race across Mongolia. I basically lived out of it for 9 days. Since I had it jam packed full of stuff, some of the stitching around the zippers has started to pull, but the hydration bladder itself is still in excellent condition—which outperformed some higher end brands during the race, and overall it’s actually really quite functional still.It’s not waterproof, which was the only downside, but I just made sure everything inside was packed in dry bags or plastic baggies and had no issues. It’s lightweight, has pockets on the front so I can access small items from the saddle (GPS, vet card, etc.) and I added a magnetic clip for the end of my hose to keep it from flopping around too much and so I could easily get a drink without too much movement. I did also throw on some Velcro seatbelt cushions to the tops of the shoulder straps just in case as I have bony shoulders, but I never got any rubs when the pack was snugged tight and mostly full. I did get a little chafing on my lower back, but that was mostly from sweat under my shirt and not tightening the lower straps as I was drinking water and emptying the pack as I rode—I figured it out quickly enough!I’m a fairly petite person and found I could get it tight enough on my body without it swinging around to ride the wildest horses. The fact that it had 3 straps across the front makes all the difference. I galloped, I jumped, I even fell off at a full speed and somersaulted with it and nothing moved (nor burst), so I was able to remount and ride on without worries.If I ever ride the derby again, or heck just ride an endurance race, I’m buying another one of these packs. Best investment ever!

Great for running
I absolutely love this backpack. I use it to carry my keys and phone that I’d normally carry in the pocket of my hoodie. (Doing so was made running hard. However, with this, I am able to carry my things without dropping them on the ground or those things hitting my leg as I run.) It comes with a bladder and two smaller soft packs to carry water. The bladder stays closed when you slide the clip over it and assuming you take care of it and not puncture it. This backpack has made my life easier. It’s kind of a vest actually, but stays on with the clips.

Included bladder and bottles are garbage
Update: On the second use, one of the water bottles developed a leak where the hard top is joined to the soft bladder. Worthless.The vest fits well on my curvy frame and is adjustable enough that I can get it to sit still to avoid chafing without restricting range of motion. However, the included collapsible water bottles and bladder are garbage. I washed them three times and my water still tastes like plastic.

Excellent choice, good price

Pockets are solid. Value is excellent. I could easily do a 50 miler with this guy. Very happy with everything. I would compare this to the $150-175 level brand name options, with maybe 10% less pockets, and lower quality fabric.Couple notes:1. It is big, I had to tighten the straps all the way to get it to be barely snug on me. I’m an athletic build 5’10” 180lbs with a decent upper body muscle mass. If you’re on the smaller side, or a woman, I don’t think this will fit you well.2. The material doesn’t feel bulletproof. I haven’t done hours in it yet, so can’t speak to how it holds up. But I am moderately confident, but not overly confident in the material quality.3. There is a random “upside down” pocket on the bottom of the kit. I have no idea why they put that there, there’s no way I would trust a zipper to hold something while I run 80km. Lol.4. Bladder hose is a little long, but not a big deal, you can just shove it into the backpack.
